Manchester United 1:1 Swansea City

Post-match discussion

Just need to pray that Boro and Watford can do us a favour. The amount of times we've been gifted a top four spot this season and respectfully declined is unbelievable. Another 1-1 draw.....at home???

Feck me!

Well... That's helped us a bit and our monumental feck up.
Still actually have to beat Watford yet, it wont be easy and we'll have to try and scrape a win. Our attacking game is a little off without Mane and the defence isnt bailing us out.

Players are so negative, so many players need to go, we can't pay Lingard this amount of money and see him doing shit, lots and lots need to change.

Mata, Pogba and Fellaini can play in the EL. Just forget about the league and rest the players. Then a nice big clearout in the summer. Rooney can go now for all I care.
I'm torn. It'd be risky to stay competitive in both, but I can't see us achieving either, so flat out giving up on one just doesn't sound good to me as reasonable as it is.

I didn't think we'd win the Europa or finish top 4 at the start of the season, and I still don't think we can, so, as illogical as it sounds, I want us to go for both just incase a team above us slips up or we don't make it past Celta. We still have that safety net so to speak.

Can the keyboard warriors moaning about the crowd just ease off a bit? Do people not realise that the sound of the crowd depends on where microphones are placed and how the sound is mixed? Have they ever been to a game at OT? Do they not realise that parts of the ground can be noisy while other parts quiet? Sometimes it's banging, sometimes it isn't but a TV soundtrack is not the best way to judge the noise of a crowd.

Probably the same brigade who moan about people leaving before the final whistle. If they feel that strongly they should get into a car, train, plane and go themselves.

Our away support is the best - talk to any home fans following our aways and they'll tell you that; our home fans are bloody good too.

Because we have no balance whatsoever and far too many average players.
Yeah, I definitely agree. Having two centre backs plus an auxiliary CB in Darmian is going to limit what you can do going forward.

I think you can say we have fully hit the wall.
Will be a small miracle if we can compete on both fronts.
With another two injuries I think it's time to rest players in the league from now on.

Probably the worst game of the season. Outplayed by Swansea at home.

True, it was one of the worst home performances I've ever seen from a united side, shocking.
We made Swansea look good.

Top 4 is over

Agreed we need atleast :
1 New CB
1 New Fullback
2 New Midfielders
2 New attackers

If DDG goes obviously we also need a new GK

I'd say it is not 100 nesc but we could do with 2 new fullbacks instead of 1

6-8 new players sounds about right but I don't think we will get them unfortunatley
We have the biggest turnover in football but we somehow manage to buy worse than most do. Look at Bayern and Dortmund for example to see the difference. I think the club is at crossroads in that we have to spend whatever it takes to get back on track in the summer, get in a proven DOF and copy the way clubs like Bayern,Dortmund,A.Madrid and Moncaco are buying their players. One example of how stupid we have been in the transfer market, I remember when we played MK Dons in the cup and a certain mr Dele Alli played against us and it was clear that he was going to be a player but we let that slide.

Doubt it would make a difference. Even if both lose, we'll still manage to feck things up in our remaining games.

You don't? He tried to be positive but his passing was woeful and he didn't really do much else.

If Rooney thinks he can go to Everton next season and carry on with the this nonsense he is sorely mistaken.
I'm not even sure he is MLS level anymore, it'll have to be China

I agree our away support is the best.

But as a ST holder, the atmosphere at Old Trafford is chronically bad. Eerily quiet today.

And it's a myth that the atmosphere translates differently on TV than it does in the stadium. A complete myth.

Minus the free kick giveaway do you think Rooney had a bad game?
Is that a rhetorical question? Yes he had a poor game. His two good contributions were a converted penalty and a tackle on Ki in the first half.

Actually I'am sick and tired off it, United will not get top 4 this season end of the story, they keep bottling it over and over again, no way will this team finish top 4 in this state.

I would not mind Liverpool and City winning their games and ending the fecking circus for us once and for all. Than at least we can start to focus on the EL which atm is our only realistic option of CL football anyway.

We're at the stage of the season where things aren't going to get better, players are too tired and worn down to improve, things are going to get more and more difficult. It's going to be made even worse with the fact that we have over half our squad injured now.

Top four is done, we need to focus on the Europa

Not sure I'd want to take this lot to the Champions League.

Going to the CL just to make up the numbers would be wasteful, we dont need the money, just the prestige.
For loads of reasons, CL football is essential to Manchester United.

You forgot his one pass he can do! That he does over and over.

No one can make excuses for that. You can't paper over the cracks. From the first whistle players ambled around with no intensity no passion and no control it was inevitable we were going to drop points and we did just that.

Old Trafford should be a fortress and the players need to give the fans something to sing about. The atmosphere appeared dull and muted and there was a desperate feel to our play.

We are Man Utd, we should not be carrying players.

Is there a clearout needed yes, will it happen? No. We will be still seeing dross like new contract lingard Darmian and Fellaini next year too.

First half when he was deeper i thought he was fine second half not so much suprised he started over Mata but he slotted away the Penalty with ease and could of had a second bar Martials block.

Most people were slating him due to the free kick giveaway didn't realise people thought he'd had a really poor game.

All things considered we had to make 2 emergency substitutions not much more we could of done but Mkhi came on and was just as usesless in that position, I'd of played Mata.

Afraid we differ on this Jacko. Many times I've been and friends have said it was quiet when it wasn't; sometimes the opposite. Perhaps depends where you sit?

Away fans (not just at OT but in any stadium) can be massively mixed up or down by TV companies.

What do you think we are gonna do? Give this lot more chances? Rooney is done, Carrick will proably leave,Ibra will not come back,Fellaini is a waste of space plus Darmian,Young,Jones,Januzaj for sure leaving. De Gea seems to want out also. On top of that we sold 3 players this winter so what do you think will happen? The club has to adress the basic fact that we do not have a squad that´s good enough as clearly seen this season and past ones. How many players do you think would get into the top sides in Europe? Perhaps 2 at most in Pogba and De Gea. That´s how far we have slided backwards and there is only one way to fix that and that´s MONEY.

I dont disagree with the players you suggest should be leaving but cant see us buying more than 4 in the summer when we need around 14!Money wont be fixing that problem!

I would be amazed if Everton sign him. Even if they somehow get him for free and just have to pay his wages, it would be a bad investment.

Or just like Rafaels, Fabios or Cleverleys.
Not sure how you can compare two players who have mostly been good when they play to the likes of Fabio and Cleverly. I get your point about injuries but in Smalling's case they're way overblown. Won't deny I'm getting a bit tired of Jones missing so many matches but the talent is there with him so I can see why the club haven't given up on him yet.

Agree with this, I have been to many events, whether it's football or otherwise, and saw it on TV and it did it no justice.

Hope Swansea feck off back to league 2

Also detest Fabianski with a passion!!!

Whatever....we are our own worst enemies.
At least Swansea came to OT to play, which is more than I can say for our side.
