Glazers won't care. Sponsors are still coming in, and the stadium is always full house game after game.

Sponsorships money will dry up, if we do not qualify for the Champions League and do the positive things on the pitch.

Absolutely fecking woeful, cant string 2 passes together the fu*king useless clowns.

For added comedy value for the rest of the league, we've got a 9ft carthorse who cant win a header and Scott Mctominay playing for us.

Absolute utter fu*king shite.

God if i have to watch Bruno have another hissy fit again i'm going to scream.
It's no wonder the team dips in form, i bet they feel like smashing his face in.
Enough of the crying and throwing yourself onto the ground.

Yeah. Doesn't help that Sabitzer, the guy brought in to paper over the loss of Eriksen is a non entity in centre midfield. Is he even a cm? He barely showed for the ball.
I think anyone put with mctominay is in for a rough ride

poor lad came in half way through a season, not fit And asked to play with that donkey

Today was a reality check, our squad needs 7 players, it always has. It’s not about discussing who we do and don’t need but we do need to make sure we win 7 of our last 11 PL games, something right now I would not bet on.

I said it a few weeks ago and got shot down that we are in a very real top 4 fight. When you take 1 point and concede 9 goals without scoring a goal you have problems. Most are caused by Weghorst and Antony, ETH can’t pick Sancho cause he’s no better whatsoever so right now he needs players working for the shirt and we need goals and creativity in the team. Next game is a very difficult game at home to an inform Brentford and is now a must win.

If Martial is fit he needs to be put in a room and told he’s playing for his future and he needs to produce asap. Jadon Sancho and Antony need the same treatment and Weghorst just needs to be told thanks for all your efforts but your going back to Burnley unless he can somehow start getting 7 or 8 goals in the last 11 games.

Dalot was awful again, Varane not much better, Bruno just wasteful and the team lacked mentality and pl experience. We need to be compact and expansive and pick this team;

D De Gea, AWB, Varane, Lindelof , Shaw, Martinez (CDM), Mctominay, Sabitzer, Bruno, Martial and Rashford in a 4-13-2 formation

Yeah you are bang on about how much we need

I got bored of this match very quickly. If you play a bottom of the table midfield you get a bottom of the table result. The points we piled up with Casemiro and Erikson are getting pissed away by Carrol's foul and that dodgy red. Depth was always gonna be a problem.

that is the most annoying thing about Weghorst, guy must be 6ft4 and he’s like a giraffe.
Cannot fecking jump.

Again I ask, what decision could he have made that was so glaringly obvious that would have completely changed the dynamic of the game, save changing the entire team except De Gea which he can't do?
1. Not starting Weghorst when he's clearly out of his depth as a starter.
2. Not hooking both our CBs who were playing well at the time under the circumstances and replacing them with Lindelof who played CB by himself.
3. Not starting Bruno every single game, and particularly when he's clearly lacking positivity and throwing hissy fits all over the pitch.
4. Not playing McT in such an advanced position in the 1st half.
5. We already tried out Dalot vs Saint Maxim - wasn't it obvious to anyone watching that AWB was clearly the better option?
6. Not adjusting quickly enough to the midfield being overrun.

That was always going to be a tricky game but we were terrible. So poor all over the pitch.

1. And start who? Martial who's been out pretty much the whole season? Rashford up top when it's been pretty much agreed that that is not his best position and play Sancho at LW, who also offers absolutely nothing?
2. We weren't playing well at any point during the game. Newcastle had us on toast and all ETH can do was gamble for that equaliser.
3. Again, and start who? Fred who misplaces every 2nd pass? Eriksen is injured and Sancho at no.10 has been a failure before.
4. People complain wherever he plays, deep or most advanced midfielder.
5. AWB was ill so that wasn't going to happen.
6. Adjust how?

Admittedly there is some justification today, but I’ve always found Crafton to be routinely critical of ETH.

Whether it’s on Twitter, for the Athletic, on podcasts or on BBC 5 Live, he often finds something to nitpick about.

Poor performance by the whole team. Somebody needs to break weghorsts leg so TH never picks him again. The commentater said just before he was subbed he had touched the ball 7 times. A forward should be scoring and once Rashford dries up we have no one. Lets hope Martial stays fit now. Brentford could easily turn us over and top 4 will be a hard ask.

He's a United fan and always negative. Would fit in well on here.

The starting 11 today was dumb considering how astonishingly crap Sabitzer and Mctominay looked against Fulham. There was no reason to think it would be any different since neither of them all season have looked even remotely useful.

But then he doesn't change it for 80 minutes and when he dies makes a bunch of other subs that completely cripple the team.

Sorry but as well as ETH has done all season this is EXACTLY the sort of bollocks that lost Ole his job. Just completely and utterly ignoring what happens on the pitch even when it's so blatant it's painful.

Fred should be starting every game until one of Eriksen or Casemiro is back and even then he should only not be starting if both are back or if he's completely knackered.

Mctominay is out of sorts and not good enough and Sabitzer frankly is a complete fraud of a player. I've never seen a midfielder as anonymous and pointless as him.

I know you won't agree with me but still think it's hard to judge Sabitzer when he's never played a game alongside Casa yet

When Casemiro is out, with this squad seems we need to play with the three of them McT Fred and Sabitzer to avoid being overrun. I'd sacrifice Wout and play Bruno as false 9 or out wide.
I agree. The lack of quality would still be a problem but we’d be harder to beat.

We were always going to struggle without Casemiro, the question was whether the rest of the players could fill that void. The answer is no.

My perspective is that Rashford and Antony switching flanks constantly only gave Newcastle moments to rest when both players were on their unfavored side. That seemed to be a big part of the attack plan but it did feck all. Rashford did not seem fit at all, maybe the phantom injury which kept him out of the internationals was real after all. Did he even have a single shot? We had two chances that I can remember, WW spurned one, and Antony the other. Same problem of no finishers continues to haunt us.

WW had almost no impact today, I don't remember him holding the ball up or playing any particularly good passes, and I am not blaming him for playing, but rather questioning why a change wasn't made at half time.

I have a higher opinion of Sabitzer's game than what I'm reading here, I think his contributions would have been more obvious if either player on the wing was able to do anything when released. Not saying he was brilliant, but I think he was good.

Watching Ashley Young take part in beating Chelsea 2-0 yesterday was a reminder that we haven't really upgraded the RB position. We could have held onto Young and been basically in the same predicament except with tens of millions of dollars not spent on players, with the major difference being Young is better at crossing, attacking, and defending than what we have. Both full backs were poor. I think Malacia would have been an option in the 2nd half (is he not available?) because Shaw was a passenger.

We need Eriksen's vision as well as Casemiro's steel and class, without them, we are rudderless and our sails our broken.

Overall we were toothless. Our front 3 were not at the races today, and our full backs were torn up by Saint Maximin and even that fecking 6'5" defender they had. Just a bad day at the office. Not sure what ETH was doing with his team selection or his tactics, because it didn't work today.

Be a shame if they missed out on the Championship League…

EDIT: *Champions League

Oh yes they they should be.. Show me one Newcastle player that cost £70million compared to our squad (and this is being conservative).

Newcastle have a net spend of about 225 million in the last year (?) don’t quote me on that figure, but they are big spenders.

They are having a decent season and were playing at home…United played poorly, but personally I’m not shocked to lose (especially after United beat them in the final)

What scares me most is knowing Weghorst will be playing the next game as a 9 against Brentford for sure. I think Eth forced the club to recruit him and now he is sticking to his guns hoping Wout comes right. I just saw Eth post match comments and when the Weghorst performance in the match was brought up by the interviewer Eth said its not just 1 players fault this performance. This looks like some nepotism by Eth regarding Wout!

OK I'll bite but remember we have spent over £1bn from the time SAF had left so no excuses regarding the money spent and players brought in.

We should be beating these lot easily as we have more talented players.

What eggs me is the manager persisting with this Wout experiment, then not ever making subs till after 60 mins.

The definition of insanity is doing the same shi# each time but expecting different results.

Just as bad as Anfield. It's just Liverpool were clinical and ruthless. Newcastle pissed 4 or 5 clear chances up the wall.

In fact, we might have been better at Anfield on the whole as there was a period in the 1st half where we were the better team. Today, we weren't better at any point in the game. Woeful.

Way worse than Anfield for me. We lost our heads at Anfield and were very unlucky in some spots and it just snowballed. Here we were truly battered and hardly looked a threat for the first 60 minutes or so.
