Get in.Great for the lads to get something for their efforts so far this season.
Push on.

One more thing - Sabitzer looks like a AwB of a midfielder. His tackles are awesome and I'm looking forward to seeing him at Anfield against their crumbling midfield.

Congratulations to the team! It’s been a hard week but we’ve given our all and come away with a massive victory, and the first trophy of ETH’s reign.

It was a tight game but we had the ruthless edge that Newcastle didn’t. 2nd half we should have killed them off but couldn’t find the right pass, in the end we just had to do our job and see the game out which we did fantastically.

Hope this is the first of many for the team. It’s huge pressure of the team to get that first one. Would love to add the EL this season but we need to refocus our minds to finishing the job in the league now.

Marvellous stuff. Really deserved the win. Sloppy at times towards the end but never really troubled and kept them at bay well. So happy for Ten Hag and the team.

Now build on this!

There's no reason we can't win another two
Definitely very doable. Will need to really prioritize rest and recuperation from here on out though. I trust that the first team squad understands Ten Hag's way of playing by now so no need for tough training sessions in such a heavy period. Just prioritize rest and recovery and try to get through this absolutely mad period.

ETH isn’t getting anything wrong at the moment. Bringing on AWB for Dalot was a simple master stroke. You don’t have to play beautifully in cup finals to win. We frustrated Newcastle and they barely had any real chances. This is the sign of a good manager who simply knows how to win.

Yes. Like him.

Given we played on Thursday night in such an intense game against Barcelona. We did so well to dig that out today, bit of tiredness in the legs in the players (Rashford and Bruno especially) but we look well coached and structured team. Amazing in such a short amount of time by ETH!
I don't know what you were watching but those 2 were busting a gut at the end trying to get a 3rd.Nobody looked tired, Rashford in his interview at the end said he was buzzing.
If you're winning big games you don't feel tired.

We made that look ridiculously straight forward

So, so happy. We look like a proper team now. Hopeful we can pick up another trophy this year.

Well deserved. Not the best at times but given the run of games, especially the two against Bercelona, only to be expected. West Ham and Liverpool next week. No let up but ETH and his staff are definitely taking us in the right direction. Casemiro is just awesome.

Over the moon with that win! Not a vintage display, but we remained composed and did our job well. Good changes at the right times. Erik can do no wrong. Good chance to have a truly great season now.

Lads, don't you think we should apologize to Sky, the media, all the pundits especially Nev, Ant and Dec, and motley odd shaped Geordiesfor piddling all over the script of the fairy tale that was the return of mighty Newcastle from the trophy wilderness, by winning this match with consummate professionalism.
What cads we are.

The great thing about him is, when he wins the ball, he has the ability to create something for us immediately after.

The fact they got wound up more and more as the match went on because their antics failed, and as the more they struggled to score the more hope they lost was just so good
This. Added an extra bonus to it all, especially chief shithouse Guimaraes crying at the end

Watching Keane, Neville, Ginola and Ferdinand all together makes me want to rewatch the mid to late 90s season reviews. Ferdinand and Ginola were fecking unreal for Newcastle and I wished we signed Ginola when Blomqvist’s knee was FUBAR after the Treble season.

That felt almost too easy. Those saying our second half was poor were watching a totally different game than I was IMHO. So freaking excited. First of many!

After the run of fixtures and the energy Thursday would have taken out of us… what a performance that was !!! Up the reds !!!
