Good game tactically. Would’ve liked to see van de beek at some point (replacing pogba or mctominay).

didn’t enjoy the game much except for when Fred turned into Ronaldinho for 10 seconds.

It's not a 4th placed battle if we're only 4pts off top 11 games in. We're not even half way there yet. I'm asking for some perspective. In recent years we have been out of sight at this point!
As someone said, that’s because everyone else has been real shite too! And even with that, we’re still 7th with no game in hand at this moment in time. Let’s be honest, this squad ain’t getting in a title challenge, especially with Ole as the manager. Club legend who I will always respect and love he may be, but a Molde-level manager.

6 Home games
Only 3 goals - 2 of which were penalties

1 goal from open play in 6 home games !

It doesn't matter who the manager is. If we are going to bring up managers it is Sir Matt who set the standard and mantra for this club, that fans deserve to be entertained. That they had worked hard all week and deserved to see good football.
He did. These values were set by him and Jimmy Murphy in the 50s, and surely they should still hold true now, which is why I feel after two gutless displays compounding our shocking home form this season, Ole has to go.

How many teams have won their first five away games whilst doing so though?

You’re right to be disappointed with our home form, but this will feel like a decent point if we beat Sheff Utd and Leeds this week. We’ve got an opportunity to go on a run when we play none of the big six in our next 10 at home.

We did scrape a win v Brom and get smashed by Palace though. So I wouldn't count on any home magic.

However as Stevie said...we go again.

We were lacking a little bit of confidence, it was one that neither side wanted to lose but obviously would be happy winning.

It was boringly balanced I thought and with a bit more conviction from either side a winner would have been had.

I still feel Martial should have come on for Pogba, chance missed I feel.

I think it's the hope that kills you.

A win today and we could have had 10 different delusional threads about winning the title and being back etc.
Instead it's re-inforced that a scuffle for top 4 is best case.
At this stage I think it's an unknown, not sure what will happen. You might be right, recent history is on your side in that we may well be fighting for top 4 again, however being only a few points off top is a healthy position at the same time.

Ole said it was the best performance, not result, that he had seen. He is deluded.

Thought we looked solid for some periods in the first half and City looked terrible. In the second half it reversed and it looked like City is starting to get some control while we stopped attacking.

All together, it was just a rubbish 90 minutes of football.

Pep’s not stupid, he doesn’t want to get Ole sacked.

Our results at home against the "top 6" this season:

United 1-6 Spurs
United 0-1 Arsenal
United 0-0 Chelsea
United 0-0 City

It really isn't good enough.
Improving draws instead of defeats and no goal conceded. Seriously though as good as the away results are United will need to sort out that home form in order to reach the season objective of a top 4 finish.

This is the first time in years we haven't been an underdog in this fixture.
We've started poorly and like you say you've still managed to be below us.

Your team looked totally devoid of the usual high pressing, top ball control in the midfield and general threat.
It was quite shocking really.
Defensively you've tightened up - Walker aside but going forward, battering the minnows aside you've regressed massively.

Can't argue with any of that, I just think you guys are expecting a little much. Sure we were there for the taking 100% but I think had you opened up we'd have won on the counter. The one time you did over commit we had KDB play Mahrez in for a sitter and Ole quickly corrected it.

I just see the reactions on here and then I look at the table and I'm like "I'm here saying City are gonna win the league", you guys are like "We need to shoot the manager and half the squad" and then I look at the league table and you are above us.

The result is important, but despite City having more of the ball in the second half they looked to me there for the beating. But we played it safe and got what the manager bargained for.

4 points from 1st place, 13/15 points last 5 league games and all is lost?

Why? Offside is offside.

The only thing that was more baffling than Marcus being offside when he shouldn't be is the fact that Graeme Le Saux on NBC said it isn't a penalty when Walker blatantly kicks Marcus on the foot and he goes down. Foul. In the box. Pen all day. But offside, fine. Still a pen if he wasn't offside.

Can't control what the rest do. I said earlier, right now the positions don't matter. Spurs are 1st FFS, SPURS! Look a the points, not the position.

One thing this squad has shown is it can be a problem vs the top teams, it can beat them and even smash teams (see 5-0 vs Leipzig). If we can collect consistent points vs. the so-called lesser teams we'll be in business and should be able to compete - why not?!

Fans complain we have a manager who isn't good enough and we are going to get battered by Pep's City all week.

We draw 0-0 in a very even game and now he's not good enough because we didnt win it?

Absolute state of this fanbase and forum. Time to log off for the night. The negative people on this forum are so hypocritical it's crazy. Wasn't a bad performance or result. City are a very good side. Might not be quite at the level they were but still very good.

One thing is for sure...we weren't watching the league winners of the 20/21 season.

Both teams and managers were happy with a point so I guess we can't be too annoyed...its a waste of energy.

Given the circumstances for us, decent performance and will take the point. Perhaps Ciry were there for the taking, but i don't think risk was worth taking from our point of view. Hopefully gets some confidence back into the team after the frustrating loss vs Leipzig.

Now lets win the next 3 highly winnable games and we'll be in a good place by end of the year
My view on it this. We need to win the next few to make this result count.

Man City is not the team it was two seasons ago, not even close. The signs of their deterioration were there last season, and it has only continued into this one. They have failed to replace Aguero, Silva, and Kompany. Not only that, but Bernardo Silva, Gundogan, and Fernandinho have regressed a lot. I think people have to stop treating them as the same team.

It was a very poor game. We sat back and hoped that we could counter, but the opportunities rarely arose, culminating in us not really doing anything all game. City barely did anything with the possession they had. It was pretty easy to defend because they were so slow at passing, which is why I have been reserved about giving the defenders too high ratings.

I feel this performance was worse than the one against Leipzig. Not conceding many chances covers for this, but our attack, and attacking intent, was almost non-existent today. A very dull game, unfortunately.

In the end, it is 2 points dropped and also continues our poor form at home. Our results against the traditional top six have also been dire so far with 2/12 points thus far.

I ll take that all day after the CL horror debacle. Not ideal but we need to push on and punish the team below us. Hopefully we will find some good form at home.

I for one was expecting a loss after the morale sapping trip in Germany. Fair play to the players for putting a good shift in. We must use this as a platform now to launch. But knowing us there will be more bumps than smooth sailing!!

City aren't off color as that's how they've played most of the season bar their annual 5 goal spree against Burnley and an uneventful 2 nil scoreline against Fulham. Yet City are the ones behind United. Both clubs are finding their way to their best. That's 5 games unbeaten in the league with 4 wins 1 draw, best form with a few other teams. At least try to show some objectivity
Fair play for trying to put a positive spin on that. I'm really struggling to see many positives at the moment.

Imo that is the bigger problem. City were poor and played like an expensive version of the Sheffield United team we’ll play midweek. Thing is, I don’t care that they showed no ambition, I care that we showed no ambition! They had zero chances and our only real one was that horrific Rashford left footer. If Ole is to stay, there must be some intensive training on patterns of play (rondos etc). Sounds easy to say but the way we play, I really doubt we do it.

Trash, boring, but most annoying is that Ole has probably bought himself another run of games to turn it around now.
Who was fooling themselves that he needed to buy any time? He’s in until the end of the year minimum

for me, i see it as buying another week to stay in the title race and form a consistent tactic. we now have a run of games that don't require tailored tactics

Solid overall performance. This might be the first time Pep actually plays it safe vs United. He was 100% not going to lose tonight, and he put out a team that truly showed that. People who bitch about this performance has lost the plot. Only argument they might have is that Ole went into this game being content with a draw, something i can understand people not being fans off. But that is something SAF did many times, so..

First half was promising enough. The second... well I managed not to fall asleep which I'd rank as one of my better achievements this year. City's technical superiority in that second half was a bit depressing, if not unexpected.

What I don't really get is that in a half during which we struggled to get the ball to our attackers, our only sub was a striker for a striker. It felt a bit pointless: we couldn't get the ball to Greenwood and Rashford, why would it be any better with Martial and Rashford?

Bruno should have been brought off. I understand leaving him on, he's our best player, can always pull something out of the hat and he had a couple of efforts at the end - but he looked to be flagging badly and was uncharacteristically sloppy.
Yeah I was expecting VDB and/or Mata to come on with 15/20 minutes to go to attempt to create but nothing.

Not saying all is lost, but I’m saying that our recent performances have not been good enough, despite the good results. We can’t even find consistency throughout a game!

Moan moan moan...

You don't know the mean of the word supporter. We were going to get battered 2 hrs ago. Now you're moaning we didn't win.

Hahahahaha.
Supporter means you want the best for the club. I want him out for that very reason. If you’re happy with him you lack ambition simple as that.

You sound gassed with that 0-0. Champagne popping tonight?

I watched the second half of the game and getting a draw is a terrific result for United. The game could had gone for another 3 hours and United wouldn't score so getting one point is a good result.

I thought Harry and Victor played very well. I guess Shaw played well, but think I realize I cannot remember when he ever made it into the City half. So Lazy.

Bruno needs a day off.

I'm still just bummed out from the RBL loss.
