On the plus side, that goal from Bruno looked a bit Cantona-esq i was half expecting him to do the 'no celebration' celebration.
On the down-side we do not have collars anymore so he couldn't do it.

Fun match and a lovely result. Even though it was a knockout tie, the fact that we're about to hit a reset button meant this game was going to be an isolated outing and I felt relieved to just enjoy a game. Maybe the players felt that too and were able to perform well. New manager's biggest task is to instill confidence in these players.

B team of one of the weakest teams in the league, but I'll take, would like Zirkzee to score.

Good game, really enjoy it. The defence has to do better, but at least we score way more than the other team (like SAF days).

Same. Felt good to enjoy a match for once. God how low have our expectations fallen!

100% win record for Ruud! :devil:I know, context.

Still, enjoyed it. Wasn't massively different from the way played at times under ETH and that Leicester team is rubbish with all the changes they made.

Fun night, feeling more optimistic for the future.

Very enjoyable game, some dodgy defending but could be forgiven. Ugarte looks to be getting better and some excellent link up play that was sadly lacking under ETH. A good draw and Amorim can plan for the final!

Given how shaky we are in defense I wouldn’t mind if we go 3 at the back for Chelsea.

We should be winning every game until December. Would make take a draw against Chelsea but that’s it. Make up for the shite we’ve endured so far.

I really enjoyed watching that game. I thought we played in a structure very similar to what I imagine Amorim would use. In possession we seemed to be playing with a back three and two fairly narrow CAM’s in Fernandez and Rashford. I thought Casemiro, Fernandez and Ugarte had fantastic games. Bayindir and Zirkzee were not great tonight however.

Lovely picture on BBC Sport’s page for the game.

Pressure released by Ten Hag sacking + weakened Leicester side + early Casemiro worldie to get things moving = a relatively straightforward night.

Not too much to read into it except that Casemiro is still fighting for this, Ugarte growing into the shirt and Bruno is a different player when the pressure’s off.

The best football we've played since February 2023, great stuff

That was 5 star entertainment!
Good intensity and pace, 5 goals scored, good combinations and creative attacking play. Don`t think Leicester were quite as bad as suggested. We were just that good. Can we carry this into next league game we could have a cracking game.

Shite subs, Leicester, were terrible, as they should be, given it was their reserves.

Still, fun to watch and Ugarte was excellent.
How were the subs shite? Amad came on for Rashford which was fine, Mazraoui was OK at leftback (probably looked more comfortable than Martinez), Evans for De Ligt was fine, Hojlund and the academy player didn't do much when they came on but there wasn't a huge amount of time left. We didn't lose control of the game or anything due to the subs.

I mean, why those players when we are already three goals up? We could have given some good experience to Amass, Fletcher and Fitzgerald in a really low-stakes situation. Was just really baffling to me.

Richarlison is a genuinely poor footballer.

Yeah, that's a fair point. Would have liked for some of them to get a shot.
