Great game. There's only so many first team players you can miss before it gets difficult, and that point was reached tonight. Antony, Eriksen, Casemiro and Martial were all sorely missed. Not that their replacements Garnacho, Sabitzer or Weghorst did all that bad but one is a youngster and the others loanies. Fred... I respect him for not giving up. He kept on going and fixed some of his own awful mistakes. But he was not feeling it tonight at all. If there was any half decent replacement he would've been off at half time.

Ten Hag has an interesting hand of substitutions. Taking of Sabitzer and Dalot communicates that he never loses sight of the long term. It's vital for us that these two players remain fit, more so than winning or even drawing this one game. That said, not making any substitution at half time might've invited the second goal. Hard to say in the end, and even harder to say beforehand.

Sancho did everything right. Clever, assured, creative. Great to have him back.

People calling out Fred and rightly so but Bruno was almost as wasteful and the first goal was on him.

Aside from that we obviously missed Casemiro I think our left hand side suffered from not having Antony and perhaps AWB. We had much more trouble playing out from the back tonight.

On the plus side a lot of what we’re doing is good. Some more depth and hopefully a bit more consistency and we should be good for a proper challenge next season. 65%+ possession, 24 attempts to 8. We should have won that game, even with Leeds playing out of their skin.
Ye I can’t fault the team this season. We’re looking much better in terms of style of play, made massive progress… putting in more consistent performances which doesn’t always end in the result we deserve. Just a few players short of becoming a real force again.

Badly missing Eriksen and Casemiro in midfield. Sabitzer looked good in his short debut against Palace when things were chaotic but didn't look comfortable today and Sabitzer/Fred lost the midfield against McKennie and Adams.

0/10 game from Fred. He completely lost it today. Worst player on the pitch.

Weghorst is what he is. Someone who wasn't good enough for Burnley and we paid < 3M for. He is not good enough to start every game like this but we don't have other options thanks to our incompetent board and Martial getting injured literally every 30 minutes he plays. With that said, I would now rather stick Rashford up top and keep Weghorst as a bench option.

Lindelof CDM experiment is failing, imo. He may be an option to throw in when trying to protect a lead but he very obviously looks like someone playing out of position whenever he is playing in midfield.

Good goal from Rashford and Sancho. Throwing on Sancho and Pellistri and moving Rashford to the middle did make our attack more threatening. Garnacho got pushed off the ball too easily all game.

While coming back from 0-2 down to draw is good, drawing with managerless, relegation battling Leeds at OT is a terrible result. Not at all optimistic about beating Leicester with this team.

Leave to Fred to put in his most diabolical performance, of which he's had more than a few, when we really needed him to step up without Casemiro.

Shocking.

We should have beaten them by at least 2 goals.

Got out of jail and managed to stay unbeaten at home is the positive. Lot of work to do for Sunday.

Frustrating. It's like our Sunday league team. We rock up 5mins before the game, so we always start slow and conceded in the first 10mins. That's what this felt like. 2 goals at the start of each half when we weren't switch on. Then spend the rest of the game more or less on top but needing to chase the game.

I thought Sabitzer and Sancho were real highlights. But I feel it's equal parts 1 point gained and 2 points lost.

We needed 7 points out of 9 to be comfortable for top 4.

Next managed bounce expected and they gave their all. Apart from some wrong starters in first half, we played a nice second half.

We still can get 7 out of 9, I think we will.

Good thing is that others aiming for top 4 ain’t playing amazing themselves…But these are the games where a proper striker would have won us..

and of course a better midfield depth…

I'd be amazed if top 4 was comfortable for United at any point this season. Our squad is paper thin and an injury to any of Casemiro, Eriksen, Fernandes or Rashford was always going to risk CL qualification - their stand-ins are miles off it. Obviously Eriksen out for a prolonged period is a big blow, but if any of the other three also go missing, I would not expect us to finish higher than 5th.

Casemiro is of course out for Leeds and Leicester - by the time he returns, we'll probably have ground to make up on Spurs and Newcastle.

Bad goals to give away and Leeds the game raising cnuts absolutely ran themselves into the ground

Great header from rashford, great cameo from Sancho but unfortunately all the late chances fell to Fred

Performance wasn't all bad given the selection issues but ultimately its a frustrating pair of points dropped and the return fixture will likely be even harder now as they'll have confidence they can win

Midfield should probably be Lindelöf - Sabitzer until Casemiro is back.

And the forward line should probably be Sancho - Rashford - Antony(Pellistri if Antony is still injured)

Standard luck of getting a team with a new manager and them coming out the blocks like a raging bull. Still think we could and should have won given the chances we had.

Good to come back as I thought it would be just one of those nights. Plus its tough playing any PL opposition twice in such a short time and usually the results are not the same so lets hope tonight was our dropped ball and we get the 3 points in the "2nd leg" at the weekend

Our wall parting like the red sea was quite something to behold too.

Good comeback in fairness but feck me what were we doing at the start of both halves. Also why is Weghorst starting games for us

I thought for the most part we were poor tonight, the first minute of the game was dreadful (passing aimlessly between De Gea and Varane then given away in our half by Bruno) and wasn't a good reflection of the attitudes coming into the game, but still could have nicked a win.

It's a bad result though given how many games we have still to play and how limited our squad is, if we want to make top 4 then we need to be beating the lesser sides at home and hope to get what we can in the other games and we've let 2 points slip tonight although given the situation we were in it's a positive to at least get something.

I think tonight also showed certain things. One being that Weghorst shouldn't be playing so much, he's a not very good big man who should be used as an option off the bench either when we need a goal or want to rest players for a few minutes, and although it's not ideal that probably means Rashford through the middle and whoever out wide. Another being that it's going to be difficult to control games with 2 runners in the middle, we might need to either find an alternative or tweak the way we play in the games where Casemiro and/or Eriksen aren't available.

Shit result, Leeds have been garbage in the last few months, Casemiro leaves a huge gaping hole in midfield when he's not there. Fred turned in another shite effort and Weghorst what a waste of space.

If Fred was anything other than disgustingly bad we've had won that. That shit is on him. They worked their asses off to come back and he fecked up everything outside and inside the box that came anywhere near him.

First goal was partly his fault as well. He cannot hold his position in midfield, everyone just dribbles right by him.

Fred has a bad foot and a worse foot. Not sure which is which.

feck the Glazers. We should have had Felix as an option instead of that useless static lump of a Burnely striker. But people were telling me how his loan was too expensive.

Another thing that's not been mentioned about our sluggish start to both halves today. We played almost 40 minutes with a man down against the Palace cnuts and we know our players were already tired. Leeds just caught us cold but this is what happens when you have no depth.

I think in the last few games when weghorst as come of and rashford has gone In the middle we look a lot better and rashford is still getting goals there.

Thoughts:

13 wins at home had to come to an end at some point

Disappointing not to win but you’d take a point when 2-0 down after an hour.

Worrying amount of injuries/suspensions building up.

People saying we’re nothing without Casemiro but we’re also missing Antony & Eriksen - and it was Sabitzer’s full debut. Basically the only player EtH has bought who started tonight was Martinez

We haven’t been good since fluking the City win, the season is going to be long. Not a good time to have an injury crisis. I’m dreading the barca game.

No excuse for allowing Leeds to score twice at Old Trafford.
Fantastic to have Sancho back and scoring a goal.

God damn it. Raging.

Got a result in the end but conceding early goals in halfs is always going to be tough going.

Damn it, game raising cnuts.

Manager got it wrong imo Weghorst is completely pointless in a match like this, and at the very least should have come off for Sancho at halftime. Everything they did was down to sloppiness and disorganization on our part, and even though the attack still looks bumpy at times, we created chances and didn’t put them away. If Garnacho doesn’t fire the ball at the defender’s face after he rounds the keeper we batter them.

Hard to say in the end, and even harder to say beforehand.

Sancho did everything right. Clever, assured, creative. Great to have him back.
You lost me at Martial and 'sorely missed'

The guy can't stay fit and when he plays he's lazy.

At 0-2 I'd have snatched your hand off for a draw but good grief some of our football was awful for long periods. Great character to come back and a head scratcher for Ten Hags selection on Sunday.

Should be happy with the draw after being two down but we had enough chances to win the game.
Some key players missing and it showed today. Fred certainly had an off day but he will know that he has to do much better next game.
Some poor misses from Garnacho today which at least one should have been put away.

I wonder if people will ever learn to actually watch the full game before moaning? People in the matchday thread thought it was game over at 50 minutes.

We were never going to be in the title race.

I would like to propose red cards for people who write ridiculously inane comments during the match and they serve a one match ban from the Match Day thread.

Some of the comments are so immature and cry baby.

Not the result we wanted but on the other hand, the United of the past few years wouldn’t have come back to salvage a draw.

If we beat them away from home, I'm fine with this result. But they'll be up for it after tonight even more.

On Leeds's 2nd goal - I thought ball hit one of their players' hand in the build-up? I'm not moaning about referee, they deserved a point, but we have had 2 goals disallowed for ball hitting Rashford's hand so far this season.
