Missed the game, just seen the goals. Anybody care to give me a brief summary of what happened and who played well/didn't play well? Please

Mikhi and Rooney standout performances. Mikhi was voted MOTM. Whole team played great TBH. Shaw and Blind got some game time. Only worry is that Carrick played entire game.

Nice to see the way Mikhitaryan pass and move, and perhaps that makes us relied less on Valencia during the game.

Good performance by Pogba, Mikhi, Rooney and Mata. Hope 4 of them all start this weekend.

People keep banging on about weak opposition, but Feyenoord are not a bad team. They're currently 6 points ahead of PSV who are playing in the Champions League. People are talking about them like they're an unknown European team but they are a decent team.

I think it was a very good performance and we finally got the goals to match. Good performances all-round. Zlatan lost the ball one too many times but he always created a lot of chances - should have finished that chance Mkhi gave him on the other hand.

Hopefully we see more of this on Sunday, the performance and the goals.

A lot of people will usually dismiss anyone from outside the top 3 leagues and a lot will just dismiss anyone who is not from Premier League unless it's Barca, Bayern or Real.

The anti-Wayne crowd seem rather quiet...

You seem to be inferring that the 'anti-Wayne' crowd were in some way wrong to criticise him. It's precisely Rooney's unique ability to play so amateurishly for weeks on end, only to put in a decent performance for 90 minutes that gets people so annoyed.

I'm sure you don't need reminding, this is a man who demands £250,000 per week for his services. He deserves the criticism he receives. And he deserves mild-praise when he goes some way to justifying such demands.

Didn't read about any trouble off the pitch, despite the concerns aired by the media and the huge police presence.

Take into account his situation so far this season and it was very impressive.

Miki deserves motm
It was Wayne for me, by quite a bit. Was great to see Miki on the pitch and show the potential for what could be, but beyond that I can't see why he was MoTM. But it's all good. Everyone rated a 7 or higher for me. I saw a lot of good play and finally some finishing. And Romero was great too when he needed to be. We are in great shape at GK I'd say.

I thought we played really well. In fact I one of those who believe we have been playing very well for the last 4 or 5 games and it is only a matter of time before the ball starts to hit the back of the net on a more frequent basis.

I can honestly say that I have not seen us play as well as we are playing now for over 3 years. Even during Fergie's last year we didn't play that great, and it was down to Van Persie being in the form of his life a lot of the time. Pogba, Mata, Miki, Rooney and Carrick were all great. Ibra was the most sloppy, but got a nice assist and caused the own goal. I also thought the fullbacks were great, and Shaw seemed to play better than the last few games.

Given time and once the players begin to gel and establish a psychological understanding between each other this has the potential to be a good team. Up front partnerships are built over a time and we haven't had the consistency in terms of a front 3 to be able to build that understanding. I hope we persist with Ibra/Mata/Miki and alternate in Rashford, Rooney and Martial depending on the opposition.

As for Rooney, credit where it is due. He played superbly and all of the hoopla about him is maybe the kick up the rear end he needing to up his game. IMO Mourinho has managed the situation with him expertly. If he delivers and ups his game I have no issue with him being selected, hopefully he has learnt that no one is beyond being benched.

Agree, with this, what Rooney did last night is what he should be doing every week for us.

I find it sad that some supporters of this great club don't have the same expectations of one of our highest paid players.

Very enjoyable . It was my first time in Old Trafford , and the atmosphere was amazing.
Was down in the south stand (Bobby Charlton ) , 4 rows from the pitch and really near the tunnel .
I really want to go back , it easy awesome
Delighted for you. Hope you do go again soon, maybe you are our lucky talisman.

Yeah I agree. There's arrogance when it comes to the Premier League.

our performances has been consistently this good for several games but this time we got the result to match it! well done to the lads and if we keep playing like this we will see more positive results than negative that I am sure off

Mkhitaryan the missing piece of the puzzle in attack this season, hope he can keep up this level and we are in business

We have been playing like this a lot this season but not scoring. we ledmgit should have had 7-8 from the Burnley and Stoke games alone. as soon as we start converting chances better we will destroy a lot if teams especially at home.

What does it mean "great for the stats"? This disdain for so called "only good on paper" performance is silly. He still contributed to 3 goals.
If you look at that stats you could think he had a good game but overall he was our worst attacking player

I do remember you asking in the match day thread, what is it like to sit in the South Stand and several people commented that there is no atmosphere there.
I guess they were wrong. Glad you enjoyed it.
Maybe you should attend more games - we could do with a bit of good luck.
I remember being in the South Stand for the 7-1 v Roma. It was rockin'.

You could also qualify by winning by one goal if you score more than 1, so 2-1 or 3-2 etc. You'd go through on number of goals scored between you and Fenerbahce.
That seems wrong.

Fenerbahce beat Feyenoord 1-0 at home so if they lose by one goal in Rotterdam but score at least once they'll win the head-to-head on away goals.

Ah you're right, my bad. For some reason in my head I thought that scenario Feyenoord would have scored more goals between both teams but really they'd both be equal.

Everyone played well.

Carrick, Pogba, Mata and Rooney were particularly good and as I'm sure you have guessed by now from the mass praise lauded upon him, Miki was absolutely incredible. In the space of 9 and a half minutes he went from the worst signing in the clubs history, to "God incarnate - the savior of mankind" (a new record of fickleness for the CAFE congrats all). It was around the 55th minute that he went on a mazy run taking on at least 9 players with all manner of skills and trickery eventually ending up 1on1 with the keeper, only to be psychically assaulted by no less than 3 Feyernoord defenders using their studs, elbows and fists to bring him down. Amazingly the referee missed the entire incident and justice on this occasion was unfortunately not served. Sad day.

The cockneys won't know what him 'em come saturday ;)

Sounds good :) thanks for the reply

How is Miki voted MOTM? He was good but provided no assists nor goals. It should be Rooney - credit where it's due.

I agree with this.
To me, there is an element of the sympathy vote, I think.
Rooney gets my MOTM.

Delighted with the score and pretty happy overall. Feyenoord were using the standard formula for playing us at home, just sit back and try to break through on the counterattack. It nearly worked that one time when we left the back completely open but Romero did good work when he was really needed.

Offensively we completely outmatched them (and I should hope so). Still can't quite get over that we've dropped points with the dross in this group...Mata and Pogba for the most part were excellent, Rooney also had a very good game IMO.

Ibra was a constant threat and was a right clever bastard for scoring that one off Jones but his careless play in the middle of the pitch is getting on my nerves. If he does that against better quality opposition, we could pay dearly for it. Mkhitarian I thought was off the pace in the first half, which is completely expected with how little he's played. Thought he was very good in the 2nd half, looked like he was growing into the game and causing a lot of disturbance around the penalty area.

Phil Jones and Blind for the most part were okay. They didn't really have to do much outside of the odd run deep but I just don't feel as assured with them together as with having Bailly and/or Smalling in. Jones did play some very good aerial balls forward, which surprised me.

This group could've been so much easier for us, but we're starting to really dominate weaker opposition, so let's hope it continues. Overall grade for yesterday 7 out of 10.

I didn't see the game yesterday. But it's hardly surprising he's out of shape if he's being forced to play 180 minutes per game.

Mate no player is above criticism or below praise. Criticism he got for his poor performances was well deserved but he also deserved praise for good performances like tonight.

this, he has been very poor at times, but was great and deserves recognition

I am firmly in that camp but if he can put in performances like that from now on and can accept a lesser roll going forward then I will be happy. Club first, players second. Well done Wayne, I look forward to you breaking the record and fighting for you're place.

I've been one of the ones calling for him to be sold but I'd happily retract that if we could see him perform at this level a bit more consistently. I think you will find that most of us are realists and are just as happy as the fan boys to see shades of the old Rooney.

I have been anti Wayne for a while now, but I rated his performance on Thursday as the MOTM.
The problem is that he puts in a great performance 2-3 times every season, which just isn't good enough.
He played well against Swansea and Feyenoord and I would definitely have in my starting XI for the next game.
But does that change my stance? Nope.
He'll need several great performances in a row, to make up for the crap performances he has put in, over the last 2 seasons, while being a guaranteed starter, under LVG.

Lingard pure class. Anytime he gets in, he makes an immediate impact. Knows only full throttle. Pretty much the opposite of Depay.
