Excellent summary

Well, we've finally eclipsed the Leicester nightmare.

That was pretty gutless all around. The only player I saw willing to penetrate them was Luke Shaw.

Also, another line underneath the importance of Carrick.

Hopefully not undoing all the hardwork of recent weeks as we see out the season. They looked very uninterested after 2-0 today and that was the biggest disappointment.

Slow laboured shite which seems to be the norm when we don't have Carrick in the DM role.

Introducing or starting Falcao and or Di Maria does not work so just stop doing it. I hope both are disposed of in the summer.

This could cost us a top 4 spot make no mistake. Liverpool 4 behind assuming they win their game in hand, we're back to slow shite and have west brom at home, palace away, arsenal at home and hull away (probably playing for their lives) last game.

We are 8 points (with goal difference) ahead of Liverpool with 5 games to go, its over as far as Top 4 goes imo.

We are just doing the usual thing of trying to make it as hard as we can for ourselves.

if anything this result clarified what we need in the summer and more importantly which players should be considered as squad players only.
we just looked so lethargic compared to the last few weeks,

We've gone from being the best team in the league to being utterly predictable to play against in 2 weeks, growing pains.

Can't create chances against a team that defends. How many clear cut chances did we create? One?

For people saying we're back in the race for 4th, get a grip it's sown up.

Players performed as if the season is done and we have nothing to play for.

Poor performances by Valencia, Blind and Rooney standout.

Absolute shambles, a draw would have pretty much secured top 4.

Clueless, flat, possession bore fest.

One of the easiest games Everton will have all season.

Everyone one of them was shit.

Thought we started really well. We play similar vs all small sides away from home this season. Defense is shaky when hit on the break. We are very bad at getting back into games when teams prk the bus. Fellaini is key there but the ref was conned by Barkley today and that cost us big

@KiD MoYeS

Abject performance.

Just need to get over the line for 4th and plan for next season.

Bit of a wake-up call today though.

We just didn't score during the first 20 minutes when we should have.

Everton grew into the game and we had nothing else to offer. We kept playing the long ball into the space that Fellaini would usually occupy but he wasn't on the pitch.

Rooney is not a midfielder
Blind looked unfit
McNair shit himself
de Gea looked like he was already in Madrid
Di Maria was trying too hard
LvG had no idea how to counter Everton's sit back and counter tactic.

No one performed. McNair I said was the only positive - nice to see a young player play with so much confidence, especially against such a physical player like Lukaku.

Looked like our old ways today - no end product and silly errors.
We just have to be thankful I guess that Liverpool didn't win. We really do have to make sure we win our next two games against West Brom and Palace. I'd hate to go into that Arsenal game knowing a loss could knock us out of the top 4 with a Liverpool win elsewhere.

At least we won't be seeing any of this ridiculous "Do we even need any new players?" threads now after this. 4 or 5 top players coming in and we still wouldn't be guaranteed to challenge next season.

Our defence is and has been a joke all season, regardless of the 'stats'.

One of the most disappointing performances and results of the season.

Won the possession

Maybe Mourinho was onto something?

Is it any coincidence that after we land on a successful "formula", our next two opponents find an effective strategy to neutralize our system and beat us? I'd love to blame it all on Carrick's absence but it's so much more than that.

The system is not creating goals, and as we learned from RAWK, we need to score goals to win games.

A stark reminder that our squad is but a work in progress.

Worst performance of the season by a mile. We were never in it.

This. We gave up and no urgency. There was just no fight today and we got four important games now.

Our away form has been dreadful.

Defence needs sorting out.

Christ, that was poor. No player can be proud of his performance. Valencia involved in all three goals, Blind having a shocker, Herrera not nearly involved enough etc. Everton was a step ahead in almost every aspect - blocked all our shots, first to cleared balls etc. They just seemed way more ready and up for it.

That third goal though  Calling it "schoolboy defending" would be an insult to schoolboys. Pathetic by Valencia and Smalling.

Expected this tbh, Rooney and Fellaini at Goodison didn't bode well.

I think we definitely need a big summer and yes that is despite our recent good run.

Guys, we are not a 1 man (Carrick) team.
The 11 players on the pitch we have, are decent - they just had a bad game.
I think that once Fellaini came off AND Falcao came on, the game was done. We basically gave up.
Fellaini is so important in virtually all our attacks and I think we saw this in the 2nd half.

BTW, when was the last time Man Utd scored a goal, while Falcao was on the pitch?

Football lesson to Van Gaal

Everton did the only thing they know, defending in 10 men
