Feels weird to still be this angry about a result the next morning. Haven't felt this way for a long time, good sign as it means I'm believing in this club again.
feck it, shit happens. We regroup and try to win against Arsenal on the weekend.

2pts dropped, thats why we need a striker or 2. Should have put the game to bed . And it's a 1 in 10 free kick that goes in. Started to look a bit jaded from 75 mins on the fixture list a joke.

The result is what can happen with so many games . Casimero had to play and his yellow was inevitable, the difference with this squad now compared to last season is huge and I can see them still putting a shift in on Sunday to win the game. Rashford looked like he's carrying a knock was in and out the game.

AWB was immense he's improved. Let's just go again. 9 wins and a Draw out of 10 games I d take that . Come on lads

Complacency has creeped in. Some of the team seemed to have walked on the pitch entitled to the win. Ten Hag shouldn't be allowing this. Tear this shit down straight away.

Never really went for the second goal in the second half and paid the price.

Really poor second half, nobody to blame but ourselves, blaming it on the referee or VAR is just making excuses.

Result that feels worse in the morning. Rashford for all his great form lately was infuriating. You could feel his desperation to score and it certainly cost us in some of those late attacks. That sort of play needs stamping out by Ten Hag.

We must get better at killing off games.

But truth be told we already look tired, the squad needs more quality so Ten Hag can trust more of his players.

Yup, we've come a long way. I'm frustrated with the lost points but not with the overall play and the situation we're in at the moment. We played some good stuff, look so more assured on the ball and with the passing, it's just that we still struggle with killing games of and yesterday it cost us.

Terrible night really. Not a great performance, 2 points dropped, Casemiro out against Arsenal.

Couldn't have gone much worse really.

If we don't win against Arsenal any talk of being in the title race is already dead in the water.

Two games against Forest and a game against Reading, perfect for mixing things up and freshen up.

Say something of the progress we have made that there is any talking of even being near a title challenge of being in a position to affect it.

Good. The title talk doesn't help, isn't justified, and is a way for the media to build us up to knock us down nice and quickly. We're not in the title race, we're nowhere near ready for that.

Exactly. It is nice being involved, but winning it would have covered problems up. His coaching and man management have improved our fullbacks no end. That will save him money in that area. He can now focus on other areas. CL football will have been the aim and maybe a trophy. Then with new owners we can strengthen where is needed.

The idea of people being annoyed that we've blown a title opportunity are doing my head in. There isn't an opportunity. It's so unrealistic to think we could win it this early into Ten Hag's reign, with this group of players, with this sort of fixture pile up.

Still can’t get over that Casemiro chance in injury time. Love that after the disappointment of conceding so late we did manage to pull our sleeves up and get back at it.

Really should have scored. Any sort of meaningful contract and it’s in.

what's the general feeling , where is all the media outrage at no penalty and elbow to Martinez by Mateta. Sunday back four awb, varane, shaw, malacia, Dm martinez

Overall I agree with you, it was unlikely. Still, these things aren't always planned. Let's assume Arsenal didn't have such a brilliant - an unexpected - season and weren't so far up the table. We would have been right in the mix of it.

Still pissed, I gotta be honest. However, for us, the equation hasn't changed all that much. Winning may have put us in a better position to put pressure on Arsenal. Nonetheless, we still have to win 17 of the last 19. That was the case before last night and its the case now. A tall order but, as I recall, we won 17 of the first 19 in 2012-13. So its not like we haven't managed that before.

Why has not a single person mentioned that de Geas positioning/the wall was all wrong for their goal?

left footer on the free kick, it was always going to that corner - so why not put the wall to the far side and de Gea take the near post.

Do you realise how improbable it would be for Olise to stick that in the far corner? I think that was a tactical mistake. But still, once we set up like that, it was a great hit. Having played as a GK I’d always force the taker to shoot for their least favoured side personally.

Have you got an example of a wall covering the far post on an angled free kick? I honestly don't think I've ever seen one.

That equaliser on Saturday will cost us 10-12 points
You joke, but referees will use that to play safe and give us no decisions and pundits will keep saying that they got rub off the green against City. I won't be surprised if we are talking about the Rashford goal next season as well.

Never thought we were genuine title contenders so will be happy with a top 4 spot and the CL for next season.
With a proper manager, CL football and money to spend we should be a very attractive proposition for quality players during the summer window.
Disappointed with the Palace match but with a loose 2nd half display an equaliser was almost nailed on one way or another.
Really needed to put the match out of Palace's reach in the first half but the nonsensical flicks and tricks in the second was something that ETH needs to stamp out asap, can't stand that stuff.

Gutted with that result, but the fixture schedule is a killer. Should have had a penalty for that foul on McTominay and then we could have put the game to bed. Roll on Sunday.

I’m more pissed about Casimero getting booked than I am about the result. Palace away is always a tough game for United. Should’ve just given Cas the first half. Hindsight and all that.

Just a very tired performance I would say. Everyone seemed knackered after 30 minutes. Should have hammered them. Would have liked to have seen more proactive subs to try kill the game. Not sure the point of McT so far forward. He literally did nothing except give away a free kick. Fred seems to need at least 10 minutes to warm up so bringing him on so late seems pointless. Definitely though the changes needed to be made sooner.

Weghorst is fine and will be of some help but Jesus do we miss Martial. Just looked less fluent in the final 3rd without him. He really gives Rashford someone to play off.

Garnacho is wonderful for a kid so young. Fearless and really brought some purpose again to our attacks - just don’t know why he wasn’t used more.

Such an annoying result. Right when we had some momentum.

Could see it coming from a mile away too

Complacency has creeped in. Some of the team seemed to have walked on the pitch entitled to the win. Ten Hag shouldn't be allowing this. Tear this shit down straight away.

Don't think complacency was the reason. The entire team was running at slow motion in 2nd half, so many weak pass that lead to mis-pass or foul, including Casemiro's yellow, and Shaw's foul. McTom was the only real energy level. Too many games, not enough rotation option, and relying too much on Rashford for goal.

Frustrating one for sure, but we're still on a good run. De Gea did have to make a couple of good saves, but I thought sadly Rashford had a bad game at the wrong time. Other players could have done more. We definitely had the moments to get the second goal and kill it.

The penalty decision hurt, but it's swings and roundabouts. Realistically, we probably should have got a draw with City and won here. It just feels worse when it's the other way around. If we get and score the penalty, Casemiro probably comes off and it's all rosey.

Incredible free kick that you just can't stop. It's not even a set piece given away in an area where you'd expect to concede.

A true title charge was probably always too much of a stretch this season, but who knows? If we beat Arsenal then stranger things can happen. Will be a lot tougher away from home without Casemiro. We would need more reinforcement if we are going to do more than top 4 and maybe a cup as the squad does look thin without the options of Martial, Sancho, and Van de Beek. Dalot too of course, but at least Wan-Bissaka is back and playing well.

It probably wouldn't feel like it could be a problem for some other sides in the mix for top 4 and trophies, but we're in four competitions and have play-off games in the Europa League on top, against Barcelona no less. Our winter is probably the most congested in Europe and we really notice it in the team sheet with just 3-4 players missing.

I had a feeling the Palace away game will be the one where we couldn’t maintain our winning form. Either way, it is what it is. Let’s move on and get a result vs arsenal away. Casemiro is a big loss but we beat them without Casemiro before so it’s not over yet.

What I want to know is how come VAR can rule out a goal for a player being a millimeter offside & claim that being a clear & obvious mistake but refuse to give a stonewall penalty that the ref missed as that is deemed as not being a clear & obvious mistake?

Yeah it is when Partey will dominate McFred

We failed to beat palace with him playing 90 mins. If our forwards are off it against Arsenal as much as they were last night, then it won't make a difference who starts in midfield.

The day after and I still feel frustrated. Draws and losses are part of the game. However, injury time goals are really hard to swallow. Awful time to concede a goal, no time to get the winner. I can't wait for Sunday's game, yeah, the players and staff need rest, but the Palace game needs to get out of my system.

Never really went for the second goal in the second half and paid the price.

Really poor second half, nobody to blame but ourselves, blaming it on the referee or VAR is just making excuses.

100% - if we had kept the pressure up until at least getting a second (or the final whistle - whichever came first) we'd surely have taken 3 points... It's like when Keano used to be out of the side in the 90s/00s and the tempo would drop, we need to cut it out of our game or we'll continue to risk coming up short.

Hopefully a blip and will get the focus back for the full 90 from here on.

I'm giving everyone a pass on this one. I thought we were good in the first half, second half we lost the intensity and everything stopped working. Fine margins, should have got the pen, equaliser is a worldie, every decision Erik made didn't work out for the first time in an age. For where we are with the volume of fixtures we're dealing with, a 45 minutes like that is not unexpected. Let's see how we react on Sunday.

Disappointing second half. Probably the first time I think Ten Hag has gotten his changes badly wrong.

Moving Bruno out wide neuters a lot of what he's great at, and only really makes sense if you can buy him time on the ball to deliver and give him either a focal point in the box for him to aim for or runners from midfield for him to slip in behind. With Weghorst coming off he didn't have the former, and as much as McTominay should have had a penalty from a Bruno through-ball, he's not the guy you want making those runs. Bruno was also closely marked and yet we kept funnelling the ball to him when it wasn't on, putting us under pressure and leading to the Casemiro yellow as well as leaving Garnacho wasted on the opposite flank until the last couple of minutes. Rashford had a poor game overall, and moving him to the middle where he had less space and time only highlighted that.

I could understand the decisions to take off the players we did (Antony for form, Weghorst for fitness/newness), but the way we shuffled the rest around made things worse. I think we'd have been better off taking off Weghorst and Antony for Garnacho and Pellistri, with those two flanking Bruno behind Rashford, or else switching to a back-5 with Maguire coming in, Bruno central in-front of the midfield two and Rashford and Garnacho further forward making runs off the flanks.

Good. The title talk doesn't help, isn't justified, and is a way for the media to build us up to knock us down nice and quickly. We're not in the title race, we're nowhere near ready for that.

You think it's good if we lose against Arsenal? Strange take

At the end of the first half…United killed the game by passing it around the back for a few mins.

It was that type of control I would like to see more of during spells in the games

You can’t do that for an entire half, but sometimes it still feels like basketball end to end.

It’s a very grilling way to play football and with all the games coming up United need to learn how to make it easy for themselves.

The VAR should be the same as in cricket & rugby. If the Ref/Umpire has made a mistake he is told to change his decision by VAR. What is the point of this ''Clear & obvious error'' jargon as all it does is confuse the issue.

I'd still be happy if we secure top 4 and win a cup.

I can't remember the last time i was so annoyed about a result the next day.

Disappointing result but we were always going to drop points in a game like this at some point. We have to finish sides off when we're on top, teams at this level are always going to have a couple of chances and eventually they'll get taken.

Penalty should obviously have been given but we were never getting a decision like that after last Saturday and the media reaction. And that'll be the case for weeks now.
