A proper "Fergie Time" win. I've so missed that....

We were atrocious first half. I wonder why we never start games with the intensity we showed in the second half? The boys have some fight in them they need to go out and take the game to their opponents instead of seemingly playing with 'fear' the moment the game starts.

Jose did well with his subs. Listening to his interview he sounded as puzzled as we were about that first half performance. Players need to get themselves in the right frame of mind from the start.

Anyway so bloody happy. I loved loved the way we came back like a proper United team:drool:

What a fantastic second half performance. We look like a completely different team when we push up high and press.

And what an absolutely beauty of a strike from Matic.

Here's the stats showing the difference between our two halves:

<img src="" />

Seeing as we scored 3 in the second half (with fewer passes logged) it kinda blows City's latest "record" out of the water even though everyone spent Monday bringing it up and fawning over it … they won 1:0 at home FFS!

Shaw keeps getting fat and yet got a fecking new contract! Him Valencia and Young need to go we need new full backs that's for sure.

Really great tactical by Jose in the second half and thankfully we won it but why just why we start games like these afraid and on the back foot? When we decided to attack and give it all we scored 3!!

On to Liverpool next should this late beautiful win today boost the team and hopefully to see Bailly besides Smalling.

That was the icing on the cake. Idiotic, city-adoring, negative, and ill informed. Otherwise it was brilliant. This team is Manchester United. And I loved that game, competitive, gutsy, full of incident. We played reasonably well for most of it. Palace were great. They really put it up to us, but gradually, gradually United imposed themselves on the match. Buzzing after that, and don't want to listen to rubbish.

Rewatch minutes 80 to 90 when you've calmed yourself down and tell me that vintage United is what you watched. Because it really, really wasn't. Outside of Lukaku and Mata it was still pretty poor. I'd love to join in with the carry on but I sat there fizzing right up until we scored that goal. Then felt a bit flat within five minutes because I know it still wasn't much to shout about.

That you think we played "reasonably well" for most of the game is simply ludicrous and blatantly one-eyed.

Moan away to your hearts content. I am talking to someone more interesting.

If we started that game with the proper attitude & application we would have strolled it 2,3 or 4 nil.
We made it hard for ourselves but maybe that’s a good thing as it may just give this misfiring underperforming but talented group a boost just when they needed one.
Class goal to win it, delighted for Magic.
Mata was the difference when he came on.

Exactly the type of win we need to galvanize the team. I'm delighted with the way the game went more than the 3 points tbh. Bring on the dippers!!!

BBC make a good point about how Palace over the 19 mins went from 18th to 13th and back again. They looked hugely motivated to be fair to them, really quick to everything. But by the last ten minutes or so a few were noticeably puffing.

The first half was diabolical, but the 2nd half performance was just top class.I think the manager has some serious issues to sort out ahead of the Liverpool game though....I"m a bit surprised that he didn't re-integrate Bailly into the team tonight,70 minutes tonight would have prepared him for Liverpool, but I guess it will be Smalling and Lindelof against Liverpool.

I"m also dissapointed that the manager keeps picking Young ahead of Shaw,I think that starting Ashley against Liverpool could turn out to be a big mistake....Shaw needs to start against Liverpool, period.

The form of Alexis is a big cause for worry,he had a horrendous game,he was just woeful.I would drop Sanchez for Liverpool,Rashford should start ahead of Alexis against Liverpool and Herrera should come in for Mctominay.

All in all,we still have to iron out some serious issues ahead of the weekend, and we were poor for a significant chunk of this game....But we got the 3 points,we are now 9 points clear of Chelsea,we saw a memorable comeback and a breathtaking winner after a long long time,so all in all,it was a great night for us!GGMU!!!

Alexis was decent in the 2nd imo.

Shocking first half, shocking tactics and poor players performance.
Full backs a massive issue for this side. Jose stop playing a right footed player at left back.
Thought Shaw looked over weight again even though he did alright when on.
Smallings good against the physical and high ball threat. Still got concerns when the ball is on the floor around him. Lindoff strggling with the physical side of the premier league.
Lingard is not good enough.

That's true, but we should be motivated for every game. We didnt until Smalling scored. That needs to change. In fact we had that problem way before Mourinho.

Has any one seen that Lukaku celebration after Matic goal? Man you got to love that big guy.

Really hope to see Pogba plays with his all and care for the shirt as he does with his hair. Sometimes just feel that he is not intersted and thats his second season here so don't know when he totally changes his attitude!

I had the Westham game in mind all through. The game Rooney scored a hatrick, 2 nil down at half time. Brilliant game of football. Its ironical we changed our fullbacks, boom we attack as a proper team.
Bring on Liverpool now

Not really mate,he still looked short of confidence. He had more support going forward, and he didn't see as much of the ball,so he just tried to keep it simple. But he's nowhere close to his best,I think he should be dropped for the weekend. It would be a huge huge statement from the manager, even though it's a big call, but we have to start our strongest 11 against Liverpool. And based on what we saw tonight,Rashford deserves to start ahead of Sanchez....

When the ball bounced in front of Matic and he was shaping to shoot, I was shouting "DON'T FECKING BOTHER!!".... how wrong you can be

I think every united fan did the same...I screamed NOOO

I agree :nervous: Maybe it was that shit shirt with the Trinity at the bottom in a bit of a blob that didn't do him any favours.

Yeah, I know. But the story at the top, especially in Europe, is that the lower ranked teams are in less competitions. They have more energy to spend. If you watch Barca, etc, and it probably was like that for Pogba at Inter, etc, you kind of sit back and stroke it around and try to get a win while keeping something in reserve. The English style hell for leather is great fun, but its a teeny bit understandable how players from the higher echelons are a bit ill prepared to get stuck in, and play every game like a cup final. If you are playing 70+ or whatever games per season, and you are mentally prepping a CL game... know what I mean?

No, not really. He was basically playing as a CM in the 2nd and I thought he was good. He had a lot of the ball. He can be a lot better for sure but I'd start him vs the dippers nevertheless.

Not taking anything from Palace, but I think United were a bit unlucky with the first goal. Second one was a bit dodge too.

I feel sorry for you really if you can’t enjoy a finish like that. Your José hatred is stronger than your United love. Shame, that.

Sanchez and Pogba please get back to basics of football. Forget showboating we all know you're both talented. Our defenders passing the ball sideways when opposition attackers aren't even anywhere near is an issue. Let them commit themselves which takes them out off the game. At the moment we're giving opposition two chances to defend from the front.
