St. Etienne 0-1 Manchester United - Mkhitaryan (16')

Bonus Pogba filth...

One thing Mourinho demands is to be able to trust his players. I can't help but think Eric has lost a little tonight.

What a crowd though!

Apart from the Bailly red, very composed performances all round. Never got out of 2nd gear yet we controlled the game from start to finish.

oh and that ref's a cnut.

Out first away win in KO since we reached finals in 2011.

I'm pretty sure José will blame the ref before Bailly... I'm not even sure his tackle was a foul.

Anyway, good performance done in the right way. Lovely goal too

Training ground match. Don't know who to give MoM to. Hope Mkhitaryan injury is not serious.

Bit shitty all our subs were forced. We probably had plans to take a few key players off early.

The crowd were absolutely magnificent wish our crowd was like this. The match meh. Second half you couldnt judge as we were down to 10 men so not to concede is admirable. I've mentioned this before if this is our 'blip' long may it continue. Another win. I think we could also give Basty some more game time.

Cruise control job.

Roll on a decent draw on Friday

Do we want Tottenham out, or in? Ideally if they could stay in for a few more rounds and lose horribly, rucking up their league form. That'd be marvellous

Very assured. Can't remember us ever being this controlled with ten men, it feels good to dominate, even though the game was kind of boring. Pogba was very entertaining though:drool: Hope Mikhi is back soon.

Lovely goal. Good all around performance. Great atmosphere. Ref was shit to give Bailly the second yellow but we've faired well without him when he was at AFCON. Rojo-Smallling, Rojo-Jones, Jones-Smalling are all decent CB combinations.

Only got in for the last 10 or 15 mins so haven't a clue about performances. Just happy to go through to the next round.

Not happy Eric got the red but what can you do? Worried about Miki injury....

Really hoping we get a good draw on Friday.

Been quite awhile since United have put on a professional and controlled away European match since Fergie. Hopefully it continues this campaign and into the future in the Champions League.

Professional game well managed. I think we may just do it

Anyone noticed our midfield setup after Mata got subbed for Rojo? Seemed still a three midfield, but Pogba came to the right-midfield, Schweinsteiger to the left-midfield and Fellaini #6?

I would love to win this competition for a CL place as I feel that even though we are not doing much wrong in the league we will be unlucky again. We have two paths to an acceptable end to the season and this one would be kind of sweet.

Controlled performance. Never got out of second gear. And Bailly got a rest.

Controlling games/results is one of the things Mourinho is very good at, always been...

Really good performance. Entirely dominant throughout and looking like a really solid team at the moment.

Apart from holding the ball too long at one point I thought Pogba was class. Everyone played well.
That has been the only blot in the copy book for me on Pogba. A nice summer of relaxation to get up to speed on the league, concentrate on a quick release and he may well blow the premier league apart. Class player.

Job done, not a lot of high points but it was solid, hopefully the injuries aren't anything serious.

Match was over when the goal was scored. I hope the injury to Mkhi is not serious and he he can play against Southampton. That red card for Bailly was unfortunate.

Pleased with the professional performance, a common gripe of mine is this team taking its foot off the gas once they score. Today they were switched on, didn't push themselves too hard and barely gave Romero any chances to make himself a hero.

The ref was really bad, it's like football has zero contact allowed according to this ref.

Bailly now joins Herrera as our players to get sent off this season. Mourinho still leads United with 2.
