Post-match discussion

Missed the games so just caught the extended highlights and feck him was it exciting. 3-1 I was absolutely buzzing but the Pogba red card makes it seem like a loss.

We're fecked against City now.

That guy De Gea, eh? He's the best keeper I've seen play.

Even after an epic win, people have to still dwell on the negative!
People? Mourinho's complaining about Lacazette starting and all... My guess is the Pogba situation.

Wow. Arsenal "deserved" to win this game with a comfortable margin. This is exactly the kind of steals United coudnt pull off last season. Fun game.

Wenger's record against Mourinho is beyond embarrassing

Yes, I agree it was a clear red but the biased media remained quiet. Different story if MU had dragged a man down.
A: Handball by Lukaku(though not considered by the ref obiously.) B: Bellerin sufficient cover for it not to be an obvious goal scoring chance.

true but they were both made by others really.

if not for de gea we would have conceded a lot more than 1
You really don't think Lingard was THE major contributor to his first goal? I agree that both Lukaku and especially Martials involvement was magnificent, but Lingard won the ball and made the decicive run plus completed with a perfect goal post assisted finish. Not really "made" by others. Made by Lingard.

Jose congratulating the medical departments of both teams for bringing Matic from a maybe to a yes, and lacazette from a definite no to 90 minutes

even if i grant that, De Gea still pulled off numerous saves that should have been goals. the double save and the lukaku saves in particular. multiple saves > one goal created (which was heavily reliant on Martial's assist).

Alot of Arsenal fans seem very pleased with their team on 'Arsenal Mania', good, the acceptance of playing well yet losing is something they are obviously used to, just needs a few months, and Sanchez and Ozil to leave, then this crumb of comfort will be taken away aswell.

Fantastic game of football, 2 good sides going hammer and tongs for 95 minutes. Dave proved yet again, he is the best keeper in the world. Outstanding performances all round. Special mention for Linedleof and Lingard, 2 guys who have taken so much stick on here, thought they were terrific. Only downer was Pogba's red, a red mist moment which happens in football. Buzzing tonight.

Mourinho seems to get a special kind of satisfaction by beating Wenger  great post match comments today, the other one about the grass being so beautiful that the players want to go down to it were also hilarious

Brilliant match. Great play, incredible movement. I think Lingard was excellent today.

Is it important?
Considering his happy mood lately, after Watford, it's at least surprising, after such a performance. As I said, my guess he's really worried about Pogba's absence for the next 3 Premier League games.

Some people will criticise performance and say it was not good. These people.. they are not human. they watch girlfriend have sex with other man while they read book in corner. they get up late. they enjoy the films of Wes Anderson. they bring financial grief to those around them. they deserve nothing

Could be that. Also he must be emotionally drained after that kind of a game.

Agreed. We have now scored 7 goals in two difficult away games and got 6 points, and Lingard looks like a world beater. I am more than happy. Losing Pogba for 3 games is a huge loss, he has been fantastic since his return.

Feck sake Jose's comments are absolutely hilarious. It's Mourinho at his best, ladies and gentlemen!

When did all this 'xG-expected goals' malarkey come about. Seems all of a sudden this season its the new go to stat. Your keeper is crap; ours is good. Your strikers can't finish; ours can...
Load of bollocks.
Just heard a pundit say "Arsenal won 5.2-1.9" on expected goals...

Just back from the game.
Usual drill, guy at work's tickets, in the home end, just 3 rows from the United fans.

Couldn't believe it when we scored after a few mins, and then again!

The Arsenal fans were fuming!
One guy who must have real severe issues, or a worthless life, walked up to the away fans and started chanting a munich song. The stewards did jack all

What sort of person jokes about death just because their team is losing.

They can enjoy that win, we'll enjoy this one.

A prat. Still remember the Liverpool game where a scouse wit (TM) thought it would be hilarious to bring an inflatable airliner

Even harder to understand from Liverpool with their own massive tragedy.
I suppose fans will use whatever they can to get a reaction.

Some of the Arse fans were barely watching the game, one even stood back to the action for long periods.
It was like £65 a ticket minimum!!

Of course he's happy. We're finally showing attributes of a Mourinho attack. Clinical on the counter and capable of scoring against the run of play. Going forward Lingard+Pogba+Lukaku+Martial in a 352 seems the money lineup in big games.

Our defence though..bleh. In high pressure situations you can always bet one defender is going to lose his head and start making errors. And the less said about those panicky clearances, the better

I really do hope we abandon this 3 at the back formation, though. Leaves us so open defensively.

Bitter sweet.

We were fantastic today. Yes, we rode our luck, but we displayed some fantastic defending and always looked dangerous going forward. Thank God for De Gea, eh?

The bitter bit is that Pogba is out of the derby.

Great win, though.
Honestly, Pogba out of the derby could be a blessing in disguise. I think that game is, if not lost, we have very little chance. Without Pogba we just have a very good excuse. I'm more worried that we haven't enough midfielders for the other two games he'll miss.

So what was Wenger playing at lying about Lacazette definitely being out for today?

Crappy attempt at mind games?

9.7 rating for De Gea on here currently which might be the highest I've ever seen...yet it actually seems low.

Not sure how long this 3 at the back formation will last. We lose way too much control in the middle for it to be sustainable in the long run.
We haven't tried 3-4-1-2 offensively at home, it's always an away counterattacking setup. Let's see if Mourinho uses it against CSKA, who also play 3 at the back, like he did away.
