Really good performance? It was a crap performance. If we want to be elite, this was embarrassing. If we want to be average shit houses, top performance, mint!
Jose clearly not happy with his attacking players.
Really good performance bar the finishing yet again. We give them a single chance with a defensive lapse and they bury it. We get half-a-dozen and make their keeper look man of the match yet again. The finishing in our team is horrendous. Quite the cold streak. I mean Jesus Christ look at this:
You look at our team and it is genuinely difficult to put your finger on the problem. We are a top side but just cannot get the ball to go in the net even an average amount of times. Doubt we'll see a season like this for a long, long time.
He made six saves, which is a decent amount. I attempted to make the point that we gave him relatively easy saves to make, hence it was making him a potential man of the match candidate, rather than him having pulled high difficultly saves out of the bag.I'm already deleting the game from memory but did the keeper make many saves or any particularly brilliant ones? There's the parry from Rashford but we scored from that. Pogba hit his chance right at him. Any others?
I don't think know we can use a brilliant performance from the keeper as the reason for this draw.
This is bizarre reasoning. The simple fact is that a side drawing 1-1 away from home progresses with any sort of home win. The opposition needs an away win or high scoring draw to progress. It's a clear advantage to the side playing at home in the return leg.Raw stats can't necessarily be taken at face value in this case.
If, for instance, a sample of 100 European ties that finished 0-0 in the first leg are examined, and it's found that the outcome of 55% of those ties is victory for the side that drew away from home in the first leg, that has to be interpreted with caution.
The team that's good enough to get the draw away from home in the first leg is likely to be the better side in the first place.
Martial has gone 20 steps backwards. He cannot even beat his marker who happens to be a part-time cattle herder.
Agree that it can't be compared I just think Jose is fed up now of no end product, he's seen promise and good performance with no goals and he is just getting bored of it and at this stage I don't think you'll find him praising a forward player who hasn't scored right now.
I thought Rashford was great though and his movement and shot did make our goal but Jose wants more and you can't blame him, it's been the story for the whole season and it's getting boring.
Once again any high ball into the box causes us problems plus we're still shite at corners whether defending or attacking. Mourhino cant be bothered or he would have fixed it by now surely. Pogba slept through the game as usual and needs to bloody wake up. Ibra has the touch of an elephant and has similar mobility. Lingard is a complete waste of a shirt and Martial is beyond help. Rashford shows the occasional glimpse of what could be but that's not enough. Our best player tonight was 35 year old Carrick who's looking forward to retirement. That sums it up for me. Big summer clear out on the way...

The most obvious sign was in that Sunderland game. We found out that our ability to finish chances was totally as crappy as shit hits the fan.
But some just saw the score, and were satisfied with the performance.

I can't ever recollect a United side which was as wasteful in front of goal as this side. What's more, our egregious inefficiency somewhat masks the fact that we do regularly create very good chance, a major improvement on last season.
Last 20 mins was terrible. Everyone just walking around, no threat, turn the ball over again and again. I don't know if it was Jose instructions, the players stopped giving a shit, or they were tired. But it was awful to watch.
You guys are miserable bunch. Sure, it would have been nice to win the game, but 1:1 is not a bad result being away.

Went to bed at half time. So missed the shitshow. I was excepting something of the sorts.
We are miles away from the CL level. We don't have the players nor the tactics to play at a higher level. What can you expect with the likes of Fellaini, Lingard, Martial, Darmian... even Valencia, who is so predictable and Pogba, who looks like is more concerned about his different hair style in every game than giving a decent performance. Even the mentality looks down, we still have a long way to go until we go back to a competitive level.
Sorry for bad english.

I don't know if i even blame him anymore, he rarely gets two games in a row to try to play himself into form. And of course he has to watch Lingard turn in stinkers and yet start lots of matches which i'm sure must piss him off.
Agree. Coincided with Fellaini coming on for Rashford. Maybe the players thought time to just settle for one nil. Frustrating when it was clearly possible to get the second goal against average opposition. Pogba was slack, martial didn't look to interested, but Jose has to take the blame for his tactics and substitutions instead of blaming the players again post match conference.
Can he live?Jose can never win. He doesn't play Martial. He gets the stick. He puts him in and the guy can't dribble a cow, Jose gets the blame for that because he is the one who has caused his decline. He doesn't play Lingard, he is blamed for making an academy graduate waste. He plays him and the guy under performs, it is Jose's fault for playing him. He removes the underperforming Lingard, it is poor substitution. He leaves TFM out, he is blamed for ruining another academy player, he brings him in and the guy makes no difference, it is bad substitution by Jose. The attack fails to bury chances, it is Jose. Highly paid center backs fail to track, it is Jose. They play open football, create chances but fail to score, it is Jose. They close the game to preserve a lead but concede, it is Jose.
Anyway, I guess that's the life of a manager.
From my little experience in football, the role of the manager is often exergeratted. Yes, he is extremely important in a team, yet people often overlook how crucial the players are. A manager trains, instructs, determines tactics, motivates etc but that's it. Right there on the pitch, when the real battle starts, he is almost as helpless as everyone else. The players have to make things happen.
Jose deserves stick, no doubt but what I see is a whole bunch of underperforming stars. I don't care how many times he is played, Martial was too woeful yesterday and he can't be excused. I can count at least 5 others like that. We simply need two more transfer windows to become an elite team again.
