Post Match United v Blackburn

At least there is a ready made solution to the gk problem.
But it's going to be hard to get the team in good spirits to build another run of wins. Need Rio in there. And Fergie needs to consider a transfer.

I don't feel like United can win the title. There has just been too many issues. It's been the definition of a transition season, whether you think United are allowed to have them or not.

tinkerbel can't stop tinkering, when u have the likes of anderson, why not start them, then replace them later, de gea against a tall blackburn, the look of Lindergard's face after the third goal said it all.

got what we deserved
this policy of believing that putting square pegs into round holes is good enough to beat 'smaller' teams has been found out..again
respect your opponents (and that goes to our fans too.. one predicted 8-0 ffs!)

we have no leaders on the pitch today. bunch of fecking midgets who are happy to let the keeper take the blame

Absolutely spot on.

Let's not forget the injuries and what not. Mistakes were made in the starting lineup but the team had enough to win in my eyes. That's not underestimating Blackburn either.

Looked a lot better in the second half with the changes and did well to get back into it. Poor defending cost us big time but with the lack of any central defender other than Jones (who wasnt brilliant on the day) it was always going to be a big ask.

Anyway, onwards and upwards to the next game.

 Meh, genuinely not bothered. It means feck all in the long run.

Steve Kean will still get sacked. Joke of a manager. It was hardly unexpected, look at the team we were forced to play, no central midfielders. Was always going to be a disjointed performance. They stick a brick with legs up front (how jammy was that second goal by the way) against a central midfielder in defence, defend like it's a cup final and hey presto. Should have been a draw really but de Gea cost us the game. Did he even jump for the ball? I don't understand his logic.

Back from a long injury layoff. Wasnt fit to last 90 minutes.
What if its 0-0 after 60, take Ando off and bring rafael into midfield?

25 points from the last 10 games.
On course for a 90 point season.
Its hardly the end of the world.

Taken on its own, this was a terrible result. But not as much of a shock if you saw the teams.
And Fergie didnt do that for a laugh either.
Looking forward to Newcastle now

I hear what you are saying but dropping points to a bottom of the table side, at home, is what will cost us come May. This city side don't look in danger of folding like Chelsea/Arsenal have done in the past. We need to be looking over our shoulder at Spurs now.

It came from a corner :/
we had plenty of time to get playeris back

it was De Gea folly, I don't know what he was thnking of, he is just so dodgy from corner and crosses in the box.

Ha. I knew it. 2 5-0 win threads struggle to get to two pages. This one explodes.

FFS, we had so many players missing today.

Fabio/Owen/Cleverly/Gibson/Rooney/Giggs/Young/Smalling/Vidic/Fletcher/Rio/Evans. Anderson wasn't fit enough for 90 minutes.

I don't know what some of you expected. We HAD to play players out of position today, because we had no-one fit. We HAD to experiment. If Rafael was RB, Valencia was in the centre. If we had Carrick in CM, rafael had to mark Yakubu.

You'd think we don't have these kind of games every season, shit happens, as long as its a crazy one off and doesn't affect our form then feck it. A bad day at the office.

Blackburn have history of annoying us, bloody bentley hatrick was another crazy game

I expect United to react after this but Lindegaard now needs a good run in the first team.

1. Pathetic team selection from the start. Fergie knew he dropped a bollock by changing it at half time.
2. Those who reckon Jones is a better defender than midfielder may want to take another look.
3. Evra is a fecking joke, and has been for a long time. He's not worth a place in our team.
4. We played a right back in central midfield and a right winger who can play central midfield at right back.
5. Lacking sharpness or not, Anderson should have started. He added balance to our team.
6. Hernandez is useless in the build up.
7. Berbatov showed the most heart and desire of all our players. But he was a silly cnut on the penalty.
8. Nani was a joke. Should have been hooked.
9. De Gea proved to be rather useless today. Blackburn had three shots on target and scored with all three. Carrick and Jones were poor on their second, but De Gea just compounded it. His attempted catch on their winner was farcical. Having No One in goal would have been better. Despite the stinging critique, he has one thing in his favour - cant blame him for ring rust when we feck around so much with the keepers.
10. City won't lose against a lowly team at the Etihad this season.
11. feck off.

Just one of those games. Tactically wrong first half, and just a crap performence. "nd half we lifted it and looked better shaped going forward, but we were caught out at the back. We played into Blackburns hands as they are well able to deal with high balls into the box, and out muscle us when needed. 2 gifted goals too we gave away.

Poor result but we need to drive on from here. Each loss has enspired us so we must lift it again.

Surely there must have been some young Centre back playing in the reserves or under 18's that could have come in today and played rather than bloody Carrick? The guy has been outstanding in midfield for about 2 months now, but he ain't no centre back!

this is a result that could have a dramatic effect on the season for me.

We had created a great momentum over the last few weeks and city were starting to rattle. Now all of that good work is undone in 90 mins and right before a tricky away tie at newcastle and a trip to city in the cup. The momentum is killed dead and expect city to go out and win by a margin tonight as well and be in flying form before we bring a patchwork quilt of team to play them on their pitch in the cup.

the manager needs to make a decision here on transfers in january. We need a couple of bodies IMO.

what makes fergie think he can play Carrick as CB against Yaqubu, we badly needed him in the middle, would rather play a half fit Rio in there instead.

I don't think I have felt this bad after a United game. Even when we lost to Barca and got knocked out of the Champions league. This was just pathetic and atrocious.

You should be a Blackburn fan! then you can post shit like this most weeks!

The list of injuries there should make people think twice. Lots of quality, experience and leaders in that list. Things we missed on the day.

The injuries have to have had some responsibility for this, but to me there seemed to be a very complacent attitude, at least until the penalty - it was almost like the players thought they only needed to turn up, like they were contemplating the fact that they'd scored a hatful in the past few games, and were playing at home against bottom of the league. They treated Blackburn with an element of contempt and a lot of arrogance, and paid the price.

I know hindsight is a great thing but would've it not been a better idea to have played De Dea against Wigan and Lindegard against Blackburn?

Lindegard is the better of the two in and would've been better suited against a big physical team like Blackburn..

he set up the side like a carling cup a match. rb at ctm , rw at rb , striker at lw. lw in midf. if rooney needed a rest why play him at the end of a game already won?

up side once he changed them back the side played great in their end

Just terrible all around, we were in a great position to take top spot, at home against the worst team in the league and we somehow manage to lose. Just extremely frustrating.

If ANY other club had this many injuries, I think they would have played much worse than us in that game. I honestly am surprised so many people thought we'd win so comfortably.

What else could Ferguson done? Valencia isn't a CM either.

Valencia has played CM for his national side. If Anderson was fit enough to come on, couldn't he have started and come off later in the game?

The selection was baffling to say the least. You have to play people in their normal positions.

Yep, I said this.

Again, don't get the logic with Fergie today, really don't.

No big deal. We lost. Get over it and look forward to the next game. Rooney and Lindegaard to star.:)

No big deal? Did you see us play? If we had played well and lost to a good team then yes I can understand. But to Blackburn-freakin-Rovers? Three points that could decide who gets the title.
