POLL: Ronaldo or Cisse ?

I thought Ronaldo played 10 games at the end of this past season alone??

Maybe, but the actual figure is not really important. The fact is comparing the two injuries is not fair.

Oh I believe you alright but that's just a load of bollocks because everyone with half a brain can see Ronaldo at full fitness is the best player in the world by a country mile and probably the best technically as well, so saying he's not impressive technically is just ludicrous.

jealousy...

Ronaldo when on form is probably the most exciting player in the world...

He was, but its jumping the gun a bit to say he still is.

I was as much in awe of Ronaldo as the next person..... back in the 90s. Injuries have a tendency to make players tentative in many cases.
I doubt he'll ever regain his old form.

You're probably right

Yet

IF there was a chance of signing him on loan with an option for a permanent deal next summer, ala Anelka, then we should've taken it without thinking for a second..

Even if it meant him earning twice Keano's wage during that time, and being unable to afford the wages of ayala and thuram? I'd say no in that case, wrong priority.

United are a big club and can handle such wages for such a short period (a year). It shouldn't affect other signings as well. Also, Ronaldo is probably the most marketable player in the world after Becks so just think how much dosh United would do on him.

We could buy Ronaldo if we really wanted to, especially with the Nike connection etc. The question is - why would Inter loan us Ronaldo if he could get injured again.

I doubt anyone would be willing to buy him straight out from Inter for the sum they'd be demanding (25-30 million quid?) as no insurance company would agree to insure him and if he ends up crocked again, then they're fecked.

That's why short of selling him, it would be in Inter's best financial interest if he stayed with them.

You're right about Ronaldos' marketability, with the Nike connection, it would be a signing that a lot people would like to see working.

Cisse looks very marketable too, charismatic, , scores cracking goals. But he really is a great talent(as you were first to point out, R), and the kind of player than increases club profile$$$.

Marketing is another point that must be addressed if either was to come to the club. Ronaldo would bring in an enormous amount of money, which would surely put him ahead of Cisse on the PLC side, and we all know how big a say the board have on transfers.

Now that Anelka is definately not going to Anfield, does this mean Liverpool are closing in on Cisse ? I believe he will stay for another year, but surely Pool wouldn't abandon the Anelka deal if they didn't have some sort of agreement with Auxerre.

I think Inter's whole idea may have been to loan him out so he can regain fitness and then have him back. This is why they would pay his wages etc.

They wont be going to all this trouble to 'help' him or because they want to get rid of him desperately.

LFC WILL be going after Cisse and I think they will get him. Houllier is being very open about it and we hear so much, yet it seems we have gone cold on this one. Why Fergie? Why?.

RE: Injuries, who's to say Cisse wont start getting injured etc? He spent part of last season out injured...

You can never tell with injuries, if the problem is recurring we have a problem. If its not then you dont know where or when its gonna come.

ronaldino looks a better prospect than cisse, is ittrue has anyone seen both of them, his skill is like ronaldo, although no is as good a s a fully fit ronaldo this guy has speed aswell.

he'll shine at w/cup

Nobody is saying Cisse won't get injured in the future, but the point is Ron has been out for pretty much the past four years with injuries. Cisse is less of a risk than Ron, there is no doubt there, but you can not ignore the possibility of an on-form Ruud with a fit Ronaldo. Though to be honest I can't see Ronaldo ever getting past the last few seasons.
