Gaming Pokémon Strumfest

I'm not watching now, it's become more or less unwatchable with the epic lag i'm getting there. Plus, when it's on it slows my pc down to shit too.

Almost 6 hours in and they've not even reached the town with the first gym yet.

How does this work?

I get that its people inputing commands on a keyboard in order to play Pokemon but apparently this thing has a lot of players, something crazy like 7k which I just can't wrap my head around.

If 7k people all presed the input to take one step forward at the same point, then wouldn't the game have to take 7k steps forward before anything else could happen?

Wouldn't that also make saving extremely repetitive if say half of the people tried to save the game at the same time?

Not to mention the lag from all those commands. Does the game recognize and carry out every single command that is entered?

I get that a lot of people are watching but there must be some hidden way that the creator manages to progress the game when it starts to get a little crazy.

7k? it'd probably work pretty good with 7k dude. It's got more like 70k!

And no, it doesn't work particularly brilliant hence the hilarity. There is a 'democracy' mode which seems to come into effect every hour. This mode means people vote on what the next move is, so in theory the majority are genuine players and not trolls and so the game can progress. However, you can vote to set it back to 'anarchy' which is everyone's individual inputs going in which so far, the players have decided to do.

38,716,487 views. Is that ad at the beginning shown to everyone? Are there multiple ads if you watch for a while? He must be making shit loads of money.

Yeah everyone see's the ad at the beginning. I don't think he's got it set to do it every hour or so though so he's missing out there. This guy is seriously making a hell of a lot of money. Fair play to him though, a great idea. I guess he's happy to let it run as is too since the longer it goes on the more money he can make!

Also there seems to be subscriptions that can be bought and donations. Lucky bastard.

 That is definitely going to happen.

If they fall there, at that stage they should have the hms on their team to cut across the dark cave, take a good third of the distance out of that.

Even so that'd still take a good day or so maybe to get back

I don't think so, it only registers one input at a time. So if some enters up it won't register anything that is entered until it is finished taking a step.

Ffs Joey.

Wow they just managed to switch to another pokemon and back out in a battle, worth some decent EXP.

Gym Leader should be soon...

I stopped watching after they won as I knew it'd take ages for them to get out.

Some right bastards on there constantly pushing start.
