Pogmentary

Slightly incidental, but Julien Lauren’s is one of the most annoying journalists around. Always sucking up to his “friend” Pogba (and other flops like Griezmann and Neymar). He reckons that Pogmentary is a good show FFS.

Is this one of those Virus outbreak type shows?
I don’t think so. It’s a video program about Pogba, a Pogba video with a 29 minute runtime for the first episode, or Pogvid-29, in short. Nothing about it is even remotely related to viruses.

I saw a more appropriate title for this rubbish: Kepping up with the Pogba's.

It also seems to cause shortness of breath, a headache and feeling sick for some. Fortunately I’ve managed to avoid it so far.

edit: I do like the “Kim Kardashian of football” tag, well done to whoever came up with that.

Whats with him giving food to homeless people in the city centre?
I mean it's a good thing to do but can't help feeling its for the cameras in this case to portray a persona.

I switched it off after that. Its shite.

Fair play to Pogba. Besides being injury prone and average, he’s managed to play it as one of the best players in the world. That is because of brand Pogba. He does have some ability, hence why he managed to turn it up a notch for France at the World Cup. The worst thing that happened to him was Raiola dying. If he was still alive he’d probably be getting half a million a week from PSG.

So it seems him and Mourinho fell out over him being in Miami with his wife (while recovering from injury, shocker), Mourinho texts Riaola and asks why Pogba’s on holiday while the rest of the players are training like cnuts at Carrington. Pobga gets all bent out of shape because he says he’s training 3 times a day and he’s different to the other players so he needs to be in Miami or Dubai to recover…

My fecking word Jose was right, I cannot believe we wanted him to stay.

Mourinho’s a prat, obviously, but he was bang on about that. And about Pogba only being to keep his focus for a short tournament competition when he is locked in a hotel with all his team mates for a couple of weeks.

The mental gymnastics on here from Pogfans trying to justify him pissing off for some fun in the sun every time he pulled a muscle was ridiculous.

While scoffing at 300k a week

For sure, he’s an arse but he was spot on about Pogba and Martial when no one wanted to hear it.

Anyone still defending Pogba after the stuff he’s said himself in this documentary is absolutely bizarre. People should start questioning who they really support

I have not seen it, I dont intend to either but gathering from what I read, yeah Man United board staff are assholes but Pogba is the biggest cheat ever. He should know Manchester is not about the board, its the fans and the city. His quote sounds like he plays football for himself, he could have put more effort in but chose not to and has stolen a living because Ed Woodward or a coach or a manager or a glazer didnt like him. What about the fans Paul? Thank god you are gone, Jose called it, you were one of the reasons for the bad culture, you and Lingard.

This might sound bitter but why does have such a huge social media following clout or whatever you wanna call it.
Obviously a great player but not really that great to justify it the way Messi or Ronaldo do and to be honest he isn't very charismatic either like say a zlatan so I'm kinda befuddled.

I've asked myself the same question. Pogba is a cult.

Pogba having 50m insta followers is ridiculous but at least he's won four titles in Italy and a world cup.

Lingard has 10m, won two cups as a backup player, is a nobody inside and outside of Manchester, and unlike Pogba has no charisma or intellect.

The world is full of idiots.
I really hope all of you know that, at least half of those followers were bought. That's what everyone does. There are companies specialized in creating fake, duplicate accounts of existing public ones. You know that from a guy that worked for one :).

If I went missing for half the year I wouldn't be expecting a payrise from my boss. He's deluded.

Well if your boss tells you he appreciates your work and wants you to stay, and would like to offer you an improved contract, what reason would you have for thinking differently?

There is a well established tradition of players that play out of their skin during a World Cup or Euros, then turn out to be average when asked to produce consistently at club level. Pogba is one of these.

His best form came when playing in a very average Italian league.

I'd expect to stay on pretty much the same terms given the circumstances. It's deluded in the extreme to expect a significant pay rise given he was already on a fortune. It's not like other clubs were beating down the door for his signature.

Is this real?
If so he can feck off for all I care.
Edit: i suppose he's right considering how many of us defended this fraud.
Edit^2: a fellow poster says it's fake.

He was inconsistent for Juve as well, what saved him was he had pirlo and vidal. Just like he has kante and matuidi or rabiot for france. He has worldclass moments but he is too inconsistent to be your main man. Hardly disciplined in possession or off the ball. He is a liability and will always be one for a team who play him as the main man.

What would lead you to think this? Must be when he was arrested on a family holiday, oh no that’s another player. Oh yes, his driving ban, oh no that’s another squad member. His on going investigation for. . . oh no that’s another player.

I get it lad, Pogba was a huge disappointment as a player but you switched it off because he gave money to the homeless? Come on.

I planned to stay away from it but it’s now a must watch simply for the continued Caf obsession with the guy. Multiple posters in here did nothing but slate him when he was here so why would you further upsets yourselves watching what will only be a puff piece for a player that rather clearly didn’t want to be at the club.

Time for all to move on.

It’s very weird as he’s not had a career to even remotely justifiy that following. I suspect a lot of his fans are kids who thinks he’s «cool» though.

How many motm did he manage in his career?

Close to nothing

Is that what his record fee gets you?

Con artists

Scoring in a World Cup final means you can do whatever you want after that and people will lap it up

You actually don't see the point do you. When it got to what I perceived as a fake move for the cameras then that was it for me. Showed me what he is. Didn't need to watch anymore. Didn't want to watch anymore. I did give it a try as I wanted to see if he was actually just a misunderstood unlucky player.

Just curious where you were coming from, like which gen.

I'm a millennial.

I think I've changed my stance since first writing that and having watched just the first episode. Kim was an adult who was able to take advantage of that media storm and also came from a pedigree of fame.

Pogba was a child immigrant who was quickly ensnared by an infamous agent that gave him a parental sort of comfort in an impressionable time. Just that first ep of the documentary makes me feel validated in thinking he and the lawyer were predators.

Sure Pogba has eaten it all up. But kinda more reminscent of a childhood star who loses touch with reality. In this case Raiola and his team have fed into that stardom and branding machine for their own profit of millions of dollars. Meanwhile Pogba is leaving the club feeling like nobody loves him.

Money aside, has his client really won out by getting a fat paycheck elsewhere? It really does seem Pogba loves Manchester United. And we all remember he couldn't shut his mouth about United after leaving the first time.

Sure he's old enough now to be responsible for his decisions. But I can't help feel a bit of pity for another young athlete being commoditized and misled by the ones around him

I suspect most United fans, who support the team over any individual player stopped defending him a long time ago. The conclusion is that Pogba fans know even less, they can't even discern between a celebrity whose a footballer and a footballer whose achievements make him one such as Ronaldo or Messi.

For added context that feckin snake lawyer dressed in all designer attire just comes and sits around Pogba's house chatting up his wife and fam. Pogba says she's like family.

And then we have her saying she built Pogba, that he's a brand.

That's the disconnect. She manipulates and puppets a human pretending to , meh maybe actually kind of caring for him, but ultimately the kid is a fng means to wealth for her. And Pogba doesn't see thru it.

I'm kind of worked up thinking more about this now. Am I off base here?

You're not, the problem is with players like Pogba and Lukaku is their levels of entitlement are only comparable to their ego's. The opening line to the show by the lawyer is "Pogba transcends football because he dares to express himself", just think about how fecking stupid that sentence is for one second.

Alright I caved and decided to watch a bit to see how bad it is. It's really fecking crass.

My favourite part so far when Riaola Facetime's Pogba and his lawyer:

Pogba: Wow, what are those glasses? You look like that singer, whats his name?

Lawyer: Elvis?

Pogba: Yeah, Elvis something...

Lingz and Rashy were his pals apparently that would explain a lot recently.
