Pogba's house burgled during the game...

fecking rough. And on his birthday, was it not?

Isn't it high time the club arranged private security for all the players?

Very sad but ultimately not surprising. CL players across all clubs are being targeted all the time now.

Makes me so angry how people think it's perfectly okay to break into a house, especially one with little ones inside, and take what they like.

Justice system favours the criminals though. They don't fear prison enough as we make it too comfortable for them.

This is becoming too common. You’d think all players should have live in security officials

So sad to hear this. What a scary thing to happen. Glad no one was harmed. This world can be cruel.

Players should be well aware this is a possibility nowadays. They employ managers and PR teams. On match days surely then can arrange some security for their homes.

Goes without saying it’s a terrible thing for anyone to go through.

Whenever I hear or see the word "burgled" I picture the Hamburgler from the old McDonald's commercials. It just isn't a term used much this side of the ocean

Fecking animals. Show some class. Do Maguire next. It'll be full of Lego. Least that's actually worth something these days. Seriously though. Thank feck no one got hurt.

99.99% of players are without home security, really easy targets

They don’t invest nothing in security

Crazy the amount of times this happens to footballers. Do they not have 24/7 security?

Even on all our building sites, we pay for 24/7 manned security. Seems insane that professional footballers don’t have it to protect their loved ones and homes.

Once (a question of when, not if) a tragedy happens, they might think about it

Yeah, it's incredible really. I think the obvious thing to do is tie this in with the salary package. But it probably does need a player to call for this publicly.

What's the cost of 24/7 manned security? That's at least 3 people working those shifts. I assume those building sites have a room where the security guard(s) are based - just curious how it would pan out in a private residence - where would they be? In a van outside house? In Leon's pool house (he's Larry's strongman for sure)?

Only £2500 per week. 12 hour shift per man. We build a security hut at the site entrance. I’m sure footballers have plenty of space for a small hut in the garden / garage, just enough space for a seat/heater/toilet/security camera monitors.

That's quite decent. Long shifts mind. Are they armed?

Edit: I'd feel a bit like when taking a taxi. Forced to have a conversation. It would definitely be a Larry David scenario for me. Thankfully, neither a footballer, nor rich.

Surprised it took about 15 posts for someone to ask that very glaring question.

Poses a few questions for sure.
 if anyone thinks Pogba and his wife left their toddler children alone they are fecking barmy

If anyone want to tip Pogba it's usually an inside job by the nanny. I've seen this... somewhere.

Our guys aren’t, as they are essentially only protecting building materials (and stopping entry into high end properties). Police called as soon as they see anything untoward. I’m sure there’s an option for them having a taser. Seems a no brainier for a footballer earning £200k+ a week.

Surprised that players still don't have security at their homes after all those incidents.

Seriously, how are top clubs not providing round the clock security for their players - especially when there's a game on?

Yeah, absolutely. But you could have someone come from abroad and not be wise to how rife this is, so the club really should be helping them navigate this. But the cost is much lower than I expected and they earn an absolute filth so practically peanuts.

Was just about to say that most premier league players could hire 24/7 security for 2 weeks worth of wages - a small price to pay really, someone with a profile like Pogba, he should definitely have it, specially when it only takes around 3 days worth of wages for him.

I can’t be arsed doing the maths but I can’t imagine it’d cost more than a couple of million to have security at all first team players houses paid for by the club.
