Exactly, or a statement like this from the club.....

"Paul Pogba has suffered from a ▆▆▆▆▆ and is currently ▆▆▆▆▆▆ in ▆▆▆▆▆. The ▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆ is progressing ▆▆▆▆▆▆▆ and we expect to see him back in ▆▆▆▆▆ on ▆▆▆▆▆ when he may start with a ▆▆▆▆ for the U-▆▆'s."

Maybe Mourinho is worried if he selects him even off the bench for Chelsea, then France might call him up for the friendlies.. Same goes for Fellaini too..

If i am not wrong, after Chelsea game there is an international break? If so, i rather him staying "injured" for next two games, make a fuss if needed so he wont get called up for France.

The assumption is that he’ll not be picked for the internationals and will return to the first team after the break.

I agree with this. Although, surely it should be possible for him to not be called up if he is on the bench against Chelsea and plays a few minutes? Well, maybe not considering international football is shit and without logic.

I would say that him going to France would be a good thing. He could get match fit and come back ready to play. Instead of trying to get him match fit during the games after the international break.

I think it's more that Jose doesn't want to rush him to come back as we'll going to need him badly in December.

I cant believe that random injury has kept him out for so long!

But these 2 months of missed football should hopefully be handy for us in April/May when everyone else is tired.

There are people on this Forum who don't think he's any more than a good footballer.

The man is on a completely different level to anyone else in the team.

Everyone can see he is talented here. That's not the problem with him. It's the dedication and focus that are found wanting at times.

If anything this seems like actual mind games.
He went from saying he'll return in November to this?

Well, seems he'll be back after the international break unfortunately, same for Fellaini, Rojo..etc. I expect all team to be available starting from after the break except Zlatan.

If Pogba didn't get a bench appearance against Benfica, he won't play against Chelsea for sure.

What the feck is going on with him? He had an injury that didn't even need treatment but he's been out for ages now.

Serious question, has Mourinho had a falling out with Pogba? He seems to really emphasize the fact that he knows nothing because Pogba is not training with him. Maybe a difference of opinion over how severe the injury is, or something.

It'd be all over the bloody media. His injury was bad, let's not start talking conspiracy theories here.

Is it just me or does Jose seem to seem to have a chip on his shoulder re Pogba recovery process?

He's not in my group, nothing to do with me etc etc...

I find it strange. As if the manager doesn't know what is going on with him, yeah right.

He's said similar about other players with long term injuries too, it just seems like it's more often with Pogba because the question comes up in every presser. I think what he means by it is the player is injured for a while, so I'm currently not thinking about him but focusing on the players available.

He's right in that Pogba has been doing individual training all this time most of it was in USA and not under his eyes, though. He previously estimated Rojo to return by end of year and now he's returning after the break. Last season he though Smalling, Jones and Mata may not be available for the last 2 months of season and they returned one month earlier. Also said that he "feels" Zlatan may return by December. Either he's depending on his own estimation of recovery period ( and since Pogba wasn't under his eyes he can't estimate )or doesn't want to tell the media any accurate thing.

Getting silly now. Is he even back in Manchester yet?

Surely Jose would be kept in the loop though in regards to his progress. Don’t understand why he gets so touchy whenever he’s asked about it.

It looks like he's back, though we don't know what kind of training he's doing. Lingard's video of him showed him back at Carrington.

All Mourinho has said so far is that he's expecting him to be back in November.

If anything I think it's Jose reinforcing the fact that we are not a 1 man team, and not any individual player is more important than the other.

If he focuses solely on Paul when he's injured long term, he'll have to do the same thing for Ibra, Shaw, Rojo, Jones et al.

We have a bunch of coaches and there will be specific coaches working with Paul to get him back to fitness, so technically Jose is right by saying it's not to do with me, because he still has a team of players who are fit who need his attention.

I like Jose, but he always has a chip on his shoulder.

It's how the man operates.

He obviously knows when Pogba is due back, but he isn't making it public knowledge for some reason.

If I was to have a guess, I'd say Jose is annoyed with Pogba - in particular with his training, how he didn't stick to the regimented training plan and the way he has gone about his recovery.

Yep, that's exactly my thoughts.

Another thing that’s becoming really grating regarding Mourinho. Why can’t he just be a normal person who actually keeps his clubs fans informed on their best players injury status? Utterly ridiculous and bizarre. Strange man.

Wasnt it a slight hamstring strain? Not even a tear or requiring surgery!

I cant believe something that doesn’t require surgery is taking so long. When he injured it he walked off with abit of a limp but I always thought 2-3 weeks and he’ll be back.

I guess the advantage is Conte will be completely in the dark with regards to team selection Sunday.

Exactly. While its a bit frustrating for us as fans not to know whats happening, it does have an advantage in that it keeps opposition managers guessing.

Have always found it a bit strange managers are so keen to definitely rule players out before games. Its a tactical disadvantage when you think about it.

He's had a few hamstring injuries in his short time here with us, so I suspect the coaches thought it was best to take a long look at it. Rather than risk long term damage or any recurrences

7 weeks tomorrow since he got injured. Could do with him and Fellaini being available again.

Jose probably wanted him fit sooner and Pogba probably more focused on getting himself 100% right and get to the root of the issue is my guess as to why Jose would be slightly pissed. He's always been a fan of players fighting through injury and if Pogba has in effect downed tools and wants to take longer than what is strictly necessary may cause some friction.

Don't think it is a big deal.. once Pogba is back, it'll all be forgotten. IMO Hamstrings are notoriously difficult to recover from in short timeframes, even what seems an innocuous strain can take months to recover and get right for 100% sprinting again especially for an explosive player like Pogba who twists and turns at speed with that huge frame. Glad he's taking his time with it tbh.

Fans need to be more patient and chill out.

7 weeks? Anyone swear he broke his foot or something. For a man of his fitness I really thought he would brush something like this off quickly.

We need Pogba back so badly

If you look at the league:

Matches with Pogba - West Ham and Leicester at home - Swansea and Stoke away (12 goals 4 matches)
Matches without Pogba - Everton, Palace, Tottenham at home - Southampton, Liverpool and Huddersfield away (11 goals in 6 matches)

We have averaged almost 2 goals each game without Pogba - with much harder matches, so the situation is nowhere near as those stats indicate. But of course he is important to us!

God I hate comments like this. There's absolutely no foundation for it whatsoever, but people decide he lacks dedication or focus because he gets daft haircuts or dances on Instagram.
