I'd be surprised if he is ready before Chelsea next month. Those excercises in the video don't look intensive at all. He should be able to sprint without any problems to start full training and then it will take a week at least before he makes the group.

I'm still confused though. Hamstring injuries are the oldest in the book. My understanding is that they simply don't take this long to heal, not without requiring surgery. If it was a grade 3 year or whatever, he'd have gone under the knife. If it wasn't, he will simply be back well before Chelsea.

Unless we are not talking about a hamstring injury after all.

Think he'll be out for a few months personally, I think he'll be working on his running technique which was the apparent root of the hamstring injury first before he comes back. Pointless him coming back and having another hamstring injury as we neglected the real reason it's happening.

We don't know the extent of the injury, you are just speculating now. Apparently, they discussed the possibility for a surgery and opted against. Based on the videos, I don't think he will return within the next 2-3 weeks. Hopefuly I'm wrong though.

Why are people assuming he is still in the States? He could easily be back by now for all we know. Those videos could be from last week or even longer ago.

I would rather him relaxing a bit more and come back in another game, instead of coming back without any match practice against Liverpool away. Sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me, him dwelling too much on the ball because of lacking that 10%.

Of course I'm speculating. My post posed a few questions, I'm not claiming to have the answers. I am listing the supposed facts that we DO know though.

He has a hamstring injury, and seemingly one not bad enough to warrant surgery. We can't just keep saying it will be more and more weeks forever. There is a definitive timeframe for hamstring injuries, depending on their seriousness. The most serious ones require surgery, which this one seemingly doesn't. You can't just be out for months on end the , surely?

Perhaps a more medically aware poster can help.

I guess he'll be back against Huddersfield. Wouldn't want him to start the Liverpool game , unless he's completely fit. What I'm happy about is that we have coped well without him. We have lots of options in midfield, especially considering we play with only 2 in most games.

Judging by the pictures in the Sun, he could be back sooner than I expected. He seems to be sprinting there. Maybe he'll be back for Spurs.

Apparently flew back to Manchester on Monday, still expected to be a out few more weeks according to ESPN.

Can't see him being back until after the next international break, which starts right after the Chelsea game.

Strange really, whenever I've pulled my hamstring that badly you couldn't have done the movements he's doing in those videos without pain.

I would imagine the pain is gone and they're just taking their time building up the strength in the muscle. Maybe Jose is happy to be patient with him knowing he's got Herrera and Matic. I expect he will be back after the Liverpool game.

He is nearing full fitness after 4 weeks out. Mourinho playing games with the media. Love it.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he starts this weekend.

Delaney's the worst. Cobbles together speculation from assorted tabloids and presents it as inside information.

The video that Pog posted on his Insta stories earlier this week had him running on one of those anti-grav treadmills. If he's not even running on a normal treadmill he's nowhere near ready to play a game of football. Even 2 weeks would be seriously optimistic.

Can't come back soon enough this lad. Our midfield looks mediocre without him.

Why doesn't Jose tell the fans when he's expected to be back? I don't really understand that angle. It's an injury. It doesn't need to be top secret.
I think that he'll be back for Tottenham and he doesn't want to show his cards before then. Or at least, I hope he'll be back for Spurs!

It's not a coincidence that we've been playing badly after his injury. We need a good back up for him next year. If we can get Ozil in January, it would be perfect (Wenger said there's a possibility of selling him and Sanchez in the winter transfer window).

We'll be in big trouble without him against the likes of Spurs and Chelsea. He's our only player that can keep possession of the ball under pressure.

The big worry is that our midfield's also looked mediocre in games like this plenty of times with him in it.

Ozil would be in for miki mata or Jesse not pogba. Fellaini is pogbas backup at the minute...

Still no word on return date for Pogba? Would be nice to see him make a return before November.

He would be a disaster.

He would be a disaster.
He may well be. But at the price he would go, I think the risk is well worth taking. He won't go for more than 20M for his 6 remaining months. And we need a good back up for Mkhi and Pogba.

We should have tried for Keita. He would have been brilliant with Pogba and Matic in a three, or could replace Pogba for rotation in a two.

Still can't believe he chose Liverpool, what a random move.

How long has it been now? Four weeks-ish? Should be getting close.

By the end of Benfica game he would complete 6 weeks absent.

That's why I hope he'll be fit for Huddersfield. A Hamstring that required no injury will be strange to last longer than 6 weeks.

Wow, that long? Should definitely be very close then.
