If it's accepted then that Pogba needs good players around him to perform, is it also fair to say that he's not as good a player as people like Steven Gerrard? How come he could raise his team to bigger heights and drag them through games?

I mean Ole has the same principles as Sir Alex. Would Sir Alex accepted Pogba flirting with Real Madrid? No. If he did Sir Alex would call him a virus and sell him. Which is what I expect ole to do if Pogba wants to go. No players is bigger than the club. The situation with Mourinho showed us that the players do have power but that won’t fly with Ole. Ole is one of ours and we will support him over any bloody player at this club.

Then they won't get him. If you want the best payers, you need to be prepared to pay up and Real know this better than most.

This is what I’ve been thinking since we’ve signed him. Very rarely does he drag us through games. Yes there’s the odd one vs City at the Etihad last season but the majority of the time he goes missing. Sometimes you need your big players to smash in that goal to spur the team on. Even Fabregas before he signed for Barca often won Arsenal games. That’s what top top midfielders do.
To be fair the Times are being consistent here, earlier this month they said that 7 players were tempted to leave for CL teams, including Pogba and De Gea.
I'd love for him to be sold. 3 decent games in every 10 is what he's offered for 3 years now. He's not even that good, easily one of the most overrated players I've ever seen play for us.

Well identify whats the issue not just eliminate the star. Which i think is the main solution for Pogba. I get the long speech like I hated Micheal Carrick for years but when I came to the realisation he’s not Pirlo or Gerrard, he was a lot easier to accept. Get my drift.
We have to acknowledge Paul Pogba as I keep saying is not then problem. I don’t really like blaming the board either but it’s obvious that our lack of planning for how this squad needs to look why we are in this flipping mess. We’re not Ac Milan or Inter with lack of funds but we operate similar to them in which we buy players with no clear plan and players who lack actual quality.
If we want Pogba to work we need to provide him with the midfield and wingers and striker to see the best of him.

For starters, Dalot instead of Young and strip him of the captain's armband and then calamity Jones. Go back to playing a back 4 and a 4-3-3 instead of trying out different formation every game. When he came in, he said we will play OUR way and then we'll make a few tweaks based on the opposition. But we've gone back to Mourinho's way. Lingard has been out of form this whole season and he still gets the nod in a high profile City game. Why would you play Darmian whose barely played this entire season? We didn't have a single shot on target against City. Mctominay whose been one of our better players should have been starting this game. Our forwards have been absolute crap. I would have even started Sanchez up top instead of Lingard with Rashford for this game.
Yup, I don't believe a word of that especially the part of Pogba being a leader on the pitch.... The guy starts sulking when things don't go his way and basically throws his hands up in the air. He does not track back when we have lost possession and the opposition have looked to hit us on the break (aka City's second goal). Pogba is a good player but leadership is more than just pep talks and celebrating your goals. Pogba is not a leader. He needs to be in the presence of better players in order for him to flourish. The only time he's actually shown some form of leadership is the game against City last year when we won 3-2 and the Ethiad and even then he put in a performance because his scumbag of an agent and himself were exposed by Pep for the liars that they are and Pogba wanted to get the fans back on his side. I'm really hoping Pogba leaves United. I think the quicker we disassociate with Raiola and his clients, the better it is for this club.

If he moves to madrid suddenly he's not the biggest star, he'll start knuckling down and play like a proper team player instead of the "i can do tricks im good" pogba we seen so far. He does have a skill but more often he's just showing off his skill without any real purpose to the team.

I imagine a more physical scheme with constant changes in the line of three. Personally I would like to try Hazard in the center, and more different combinations, Brahim, Isco,Rodrygo or Modric if he continues.

Agree 100% Pogba is not a leader. In the dressing room maybe, but a good leader is an Adams, Terry, Vidic, Gerrard, Keane, Vieira type. The best way to lead a football team is by example and strolling back after you've just given the ball away for the 3rd time in 5 minutes is not a good example.
Leadership is dragging the whole team up when things have gone to shit. For one of the supposed best midfielders in the world I cannot remember too many games where we've had our backs against the wall and Pogba has dragged us back into it. Lets be honest, there have been plenty of opportunities for him to demonstrate this where we've been behind in games, or getting dominated.
He may be a great player when he can be bothered, but he'll never be a leader.
He is a world class player and a leader like he showed it with the french NT. I can understand his frustration. A move would be the best thing for his career.
Because he isn't as good as Gerrard, one was a world class player with a world class mentality and the other is a very talented player but can't lead a team on his own. Pogba will go to Madrid and will look good surrounded by Hazard and other big names but he will never be the "main man" in a team.

Absolutely right, Bryan RObson also being another example. Dont know if I watched the wrong games, but I probably saw him for Juventus about 15 times when he was surrounded by great players in Pirlo and Vidal......and even then he was generally underwhelming and only exceptional maybe twice.
I wonder if we are talking about a player with wonderful ability but not application and results? His stats generally seem to be good but is has he really ever been truly world class performance wise?
Lets face it, been 3 years here nearly now.....he wouldnt last 6 months withhout the Bernebau turning on him if his consitency and general performance was like it has been here, the fans are totally different and far less supportive

De Gea has just hit a rocky bit of form for the first time in his career, he will get over it.
Pogba is trying but our attack are so blunt and our fullbacks rarely ever get forward, it makes it difficult to create open chances.
