Plundering Everton?

Still have no idea why barkley is rated by anyone. Maybe i missed the games where he played well but in the couple dozen i've seen him hes
looked naive, raw, unintelligent (as a footballer, not commenting on his actual intelligence) and over confident, with no end product. Just looks the very definition of mediocre.
Glad it's not just me.

I wasnt talking about LVG, I was talking about Martinez.
I see, you are definitely right there. I would just worry that he has picked up too many bad habits to come to us yet. We need top quality defenders who are ready now, not yet another project. If he gets a couple of top class defenders in, it might take Stones years to get into the side.

Personally Id go for Varane first, but Stones definitely has potential.

McCarthy and Barkley definitely not. We should have signed McCarthy instead of Fellaini, but now I don't see any point on signing him. We have good midfielders so if we want to sign another one it should be a top class midfielder (Pogba or someone like that). McCarthy is a few levels above and personally would prefer Schneiderlin ahead of him. Barkley on the other side is and was always overrated, same way how any semi decent English player who has a few good performances become.

Stones looks quality but so looked Smalling and Jones a few years ago. But we should definitely monitor his situation and in a year or two (if he's still good) we should sign him.

So, right now they only Everton player I would like us to sign is Coleman, if the price is right. If not, then there are other options.

Coleman is an obvious choice given we need a RB but McCarthy will be a better player than him. Of the two I'd nearly prefer us to bring in McCarthy, especially given that he would seem to bring a lot of the qualities LVG apparently thinks we're missing in midfield.

That said, there should be plenty of alternatives at other clubs too so if possible I'd prefer we looked elsewhere rather than giving Everton the chance to gouge us again.

Barkley and Stones without batting an eyelid. Both players with world class potential, young and english so probably see us as the pinnacle of world football. We could get 10+ years of wonderful service from both. Everton's having a terrible season so the prices have likely dropped.
