Argos actually ran out of systems at about 5, but got more stock out pretty quickly.
They also have the dock, headset and remote which are all sold out on amazon, or atleast they did last time I looked

Went with the disc version in the end, the choice of buying cheaper games alongside 4K blu rays was too much to pass on. Ultimately I like collecting the games anyway.

Yeh id feel loads more confident if I had an order number but there's nothing in my recent purchase tab or in my account.
I think Amazon should be safe. The fact they closed it out after 10 minutes means all their launch allocation has gone. But I’m sure more will pop along the next few weeks as some people will cancel and Sony offer more stock. Ask your local Mike Ashley store, if you want to go to a midnight launch.

I had an alarm set for 7, not that it would have done me much good. Happened to wake up and check my phone just as the lovely @Bojan11 posted about a way to order before they even hit the front page of the site. I was delighted by this unusual luck, especially after sleeping through the entire Amazon sale.

Yeah they'll get the brunt but what do you expect? Sign up to a mailing list to get news about the console and they've communicated absolutely feck all aside from replying to random folks on Twitter? Then they release the pre-orders at 4am when most of the UK is asleep? Can't fault people for being pissed.
I got the email and its listed as an upcoming transfer on my online banking. Will be gutted if my order gets cancelled at this stage!

Amazon did well because obviously they own their servers. Their servers were never going down. For some reason they just decided to troll us with dodgy links.
Agree with you about registered interest. What was the point of that? Didn’t get one single email and I registered from 10 places. If that had actually worked they should have emailed everyone who registered a unique link and whoever ordered fastest gets it first.

I wouldn't write it off yet, preorders have only been live for 24ish hours. It doesn't launch for 2 months, stores will restock

Yeah I nipped in GAME and Smyths yesterday was I was driving around at work and they both said the same, that they were hoping for more stock. Tesco are offering store pick up and would’ve been ideal but it’s wether anyone gets allocated any more stock. I see Covid being to blame.
