I preordered mine 2 weeks ago in GameStop. Only to be then told folks had been preordering for moths now in store. So I have no guarantees at all.

I have managed to order one! You hero! Not sure if I feel fully comfortable with it and I hope they can get it by release day. This line concerns me slightly - Please Note - 1 per customer and placing a Pre Order does not guarantee stock on launch but all orders are processed in date/time order of first come first served basis and will be shipped when stock is available. I will give them a ring in the morning and see what they say.

Not working for me sadly. I can add it to the order fine, but when the order submits it just says "Your order couldn't be processed online today. Please try in store."
feck. Great work. Think I'm sorted! They didn't offer collection but hopefully it's delivered on an Argos van.
Feel much better about this than game, especially as they take the money upfront.

Glad you got something sorted. I haven't bought a console from them before but scan are one of the best stores in the UK for PC parts. Hopefully they do a good job for you, giving them a call is a good idea their CS is usually great

Worst thing is I registered interest with every major retailer and only received email from Simplygames, who were offering stupid bundles. That whole registration thing was pointless. It was always going to be a shitshow trying to get one, but majority of retailers have not come out in glory. I’d give Amazon credit their website didn’t fall apart besides the dodgy link refreshing itself and having to go on desktop.
The only email I got was from Amazon telling me orders would go live at 9am. Which to be fair would have been very helpful if my phone didn't fall off the charger

Yea they seem to have restocked! I got my email straight away but a lot of people didn't, I wouldnt worry too much as long as they have taken the money.
The one downside of Argos is that they take the money upfront, but that should make the preorders harder to cancel

I got a delightful letter from HMRC last month saying that I had overpaid tax last year and they owed me pretty much exactly what a PS5 costs. I just reinvested those funds.

Just got my order on their pay in 7 month plan. Delighted! Chickened out and got the disc version in the end.
Had to go though torture to get it and reset my password which scared the shit out of me as I got a couple of error messages.

Yeh I suspect mine might not go through, I got through the payment but it didn't say anything about the order and I can't see anything on my account. So frustrating again.
