Gaming PlayStation 5

Is it worth playing Ratchet and Clank on PS4 before the new ones comes out? Never played any of the series.

Am I the only one who couldn't care less about PS1, 2 and 3 games on a PS5?

I played those things to death when they were current gen consoles and was perfectly happy to move on once the new ones arrived. I've already got about 30 ps plus games in my library that I've never gotten around to playing over the course of this generation.
My backwards compatible PS3 has pride of place next to my PS4 in my living room. I need to get a yank backwards compatible one though so it's fully backwards compatible, but it's close enough for now.

The only thing I hate is controllers. You can't get a decent dualshock 3 anymore.

Eventually my PC+PS4/5 will make the PS3 redundant but we aren't quite there yet

In my opinion, and it's only my opinion, but in my opinion R+C PS4 is not a good game. It starts of well and looks pretty, but it has a rushed quality at the end that made me very bored.

I'd recommend A Crack in Time. 720p 60fps and a great game with space battles

Ah cool. I just wasn't sure if it was important to have played the other. That's grand. I've a backlog of Switch games to get through before the PS5 comes out anyway

Oddly, the only piece of PS3 hardware I have left is a pristine dualshock PS3 controller.

Couldn't care less would be harsh, but I certainly don't see it as a big deal. It would be a nice little bonus. Eventually, I do hope some form of streaming service takes care of all our pre-PS4 backwards compatibility. I've never really looked into PS Now, but if it had a huge selection of PS1 to PS3 titles available and perfectly playable using a PS5 controller, I'd definitely be up for that.

Wasn’t expecting back compatibility at all for PS1,2,3. But they should at least find some way to make a store for them. I’d gladly buy them again.

Not being able to play Metal Gear Solid 4 is a bit of a bummer re backwards compatability. That thing is never going to get remastered.

So my digital Final Fantasy collection is not going to play on the PS5 :(

is there any news on TLOU2 Ghost of Tsushima, GoW getting PS5 enhancement?

Shame that next gen consoles can't 4K at 60 FPS. Expected better.

The current PS4 versions will be playable on the PS5 but I’m sure that remastered versions will be released for those games too along with a few other popular PS4 exclusive titles like Uncharted 4, Spider-Man, Horizon: Zero Dawn etc.

U.K. PS5 page has been changed to ‘late 2020’, whilst the US page still shows as holiday 2020. Seems like there’ll be different release dates for different regions. Hope we’re not waiting too much longer.

Its a remake of the first game in the series, its a good starting point.

Its also one of my favourite games of the entire generation

What is the difference between late 2020 and christmas 2020?

Do people even call it 'holiday' in the UK?

U.S. calls Thanksgiving holiday. We don't have Thanksgiving so late 2020 is the same thing but in a wording us Brits can understand. Hope that helps.
