Gaming PlayStation 5

My lad's got into Miles Morales and when I'm lucky he let's me play the game for a few seconds. The missions and combat are decent but what makes the game truly amazing is the swinging around Manhatten. It's breathtaking.(It's a shame I hardly get to play the bloody game...).

Back to playing Ghost Of Tsushima and hopefully complete it this time but its getting abit repetitive .

Need to finish this before the hogwarts game, and I've got witcher DLC as well.

Not even opened elder rings yet, luckily played a bit of Forspoken - very beige IMO

It's like an AI bot wrote a script using MCU dialogue.

Can't see this being anything other than a flop to be honest. I played the demo and it wasn't even very visually inspiring, despite being current gen only.

I had the same impression. Visuals alone won't carry it far if the demo is representative of the final game.

Everything about it just looks so bland, with cringey writing and a generic looking open world. I'm expecting reviews to be relatively lacklustre, but maybe it'll surprise me and have phenomenal gameplay or something.

Apparently really fun to play. Let's wait for the reviews as a lot of complaints are about dialog choices, some animations and lip sync...all things that are not at the top of my just when it comes to quantifying how much fun I'll get it out of a video game.

I'm expecting around 7 out of 10, but lots of fun. Those that will like it will probably love it. Like Days Gone...

Those things are less important than gameplay and fun factor but they can still be pretty detrimental to the experience, so we'll see. I will say traversal looks like it could be fun, which is arguably one of the most important things in an open-world game. It's why moving through the world in Spider-Man is fun, while it feels like a chore in Assassin's Creed.

Honest question - is this not your kinda shizz? I thought it would be
I’ve liked the look of the game from everything I’ve seen but that clip is horrible.

I won’t be getting it on release as I have too many games to get through so it’ll hopefully come down in price when I’m ready to play.

If there’s one thing I hate that’s a cliche these days in all forms of media, it’s the quippy, obnoxiously self-aware dialogue that wants you to think it’s clever. I blame Joss Whedon for popularising it in the MCU films as it’s lead to everyone trying to copy it.

Looks really cringe. Square Enix is in general but it works in the final fantasy environment. Take it out of that and I hate it.

I'm predicting a lot of let downs for most of these early 2023 hyped up games. None look anything better than generic/gimmicky.

I haven't seen anything from Hogwarts to suggest it'll be any better than Forspoken other than the main character doesn't seem to be as annoying and it's set in... Hogwarts.

I'm still wondering who the target audience was for Forspoken. I get that it's a new IP but the dialogue is obviously going to really irritate most adult/sane people but the character drops a lot of f-bombs, implying it's not really suitable for young pre-teen kids who might find that humour funny.

Just looks another expensive SE flop that will rely on Final Fantasy sales to save their butts :(

Definitely not buying at launch. I'll probably wait for a sale. For one It gives them time to patch all the glitches that will inevitably be in on day one. I do want it though even if it's just so I can do a virtual tour of Hogwarts.

As for Forspoken I think it's a pass unfortunately listening to a reviewer who I usually agree with.

Shame about Forspoken it looked fun... although it wouldn't have got a look in regardless with PSVR2 on the Horizon.

In the last week I've replayed through the uncharted series for maybe the last time. The PS5 upgraded UC4 and The Lost Legacy were both really beautiful games next gen'd up. Excellent use of my time I'd say, I'd forgotten just how good UC4 is.

However, I started No Mans Sky for real at the weekend and I am now, finally, properly hooked. Now I have enough time to get fully invested I'm finding it absolutely mesmerising. It's like a state of mind almost, especially with the awesome soundtrack pumping out through my surround sound system, awesome. Hello games have done a really good job rescuing this and should be applauded for keeping their updates coming. Genuinely excited about playing it on PSVR2 and expect a sh*tload of time to be spent.

I think there are less red flags. The devs have shown us quite a bit of content from Hogwarts in their gameplay showcases. A bunch of content creators now seem to have played the game, and we'll get some previews of it later today. If they're willing to let content creators play a chunk of the game a couple weeks before release, that is hopefully a good sign. The PC requirements are also far less crazy for Hogwarts. It suggests it's optimised better for PC.

The main issue I have is that this developer has never made a game on this scale before. For that reason, I won't preorder. There are certain devs I trust, and this lot aren't on that list. I will wait for reviews to see if the consensus is good first. The last game that WB published was Gotham Knights as well. That did not go well.

I'm just hoping it's good, because I've wanted a game like this for a long time.

Started FF7 intergrade and I've gone with normal classic, because I'd like it to feels as close by original as possible, I've only been playing it for 15 mins...but it seems decent enough.

Yeah it’s a decent DLC with some over the top moments which you’d expect from a JRPG. But I enjoyed it. I am struggling with Crisis Core though, had to give it a break

Don't know the YouTuber just watched his Hogwarts video.

What did you think of the combat system? I've gone classic but it's still not turn based.

Yeah, never watched his videos before. It looks great. Gonna watch some more videos. Based on what I can see on Twitter, it looks like the reaction to the preview is good.

Looks fairly paint by numbers but reviewers are getting excited over basic things.

Looks very nice, not a HP fan anyway but will pick it up in a year or so when it's dirt cheap or on one of the free services.

Yeah

It being serviceable game but deep Harry Potter immersion is all most people buying really care about. Presumably a lot of the chosen previewers are HP fans.

Since its not retelling the story there isnt much to get angry about and they are mostly just gonna be judged on nostalgia hits.

To be fair, Spiderman was a similar story. The most generic Ubisoft open world and combat but with Spiderman paint and the ability to swing through manhattan. Which made it fecking awesome.
