Gaming PlayStation 5

Came here for that very question. Posted somewhere else (can't remember where) that I had the 2TB drive in my basket yesterday then it disappeared. Now available at £273. Currently got the 1TB drive in my basket now.

Has anybody upgraded their PS5 yet? Any recommendations for the USB extended storage drives?

Will be checking out around 2330 tonight. So last minute browsing.

I think @esmufc07 has, dunno if he has done USB though.

Stray's trophy list.

I upgraded mines a while back. Bought the WD_BLACK SN850 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe Gaming SSD with Heatsink. Basically what @Damien posted.
Very easy to install.

Not used a USB drive on the PS5 but I did use a Seagate USB drive for the PS4, something similar to the following:

I'd absolutely love for Sony to give Bungie the push to make a proper single player game again. Their work on the original Halo games was amazing.

Any reason why Microsoft and Bungie split back in 2007? Especially when how brillaint those original Halo games were in comparison to now.

Are any of the same staff/developer talent still at Bungie? If they are, then I'd definitely agree.

No idea but I'm guessing largely because Microsoft were absolute fannies circa 2007-2019.

Always a good question.... according to Google, of the three lead developers of Halo 3, Tyson Greene is still at Bungie and last worked as a designer on Destiny 2. Paul Betrone - who also worked on Reach - joined 343i in June (which is good news for Xbots). Rob Stokes last game was work on Guild Wars 2.

Most important is usually that the culture behind the company hasn't changed. Destiny is a grand scale experience so not entirely dissimilar to Halo and I'm inclined to think they could do it again if they wanted to. Especially as Sony are known for promoting their single-player experiences above free-to-play MMOs.

If they do it doesn't sound like it'll be happening any time soon with their focus being on Destiny 2 and the new multiplayer IP they have in development. Never played the original Halo games - were they single player?

I think it was said because Microsoft wanted Bungie to stay on Halo for perpetuity while Bungie wanted the freedom to do other things instead.

Agreed on the bolded, its not necessarily that the exact same individuals need to be there (although that usually does help, and culture can easily erode when the influential people who created said culture leave).

I learned a harsh lesson about trusting developer names vs the actual talent from experiences with Bioware over the 2010s :(. That being said I'm also inclined to think, or at least hope, that Bungie would still be capable of creating something special.

Very strong single players campaigns (probably my favourites in the first person shooter genre) along with equally strong multiplayer. The campaigns were great for co-op as well because it was so well integrated, but they hold up as exceptional single player games to this day imo.

Good point. I imagine Sony will be in it for the long haul with this acquisition so it'll be interesting to see what comes after Destiny 2's lifespan is up. Give it 2/3 years I guess.

Original Halo games are single player but with an equally strong co-op/multiplayer aspect. They always felt like two kinds of game in one.

Oh, I don't really know how it works but I assumed you paid £6 a month and got to play several games. A netflix type service?

they add the games for free eventually. Generally about 8-10 months after release.

FYI, F122 has some issues at the moment, with straight line speed of other cars being ridiculous compared to your own

Bought the Samsung 980 PRO 1TB with heatsink and the Seagate 2TB Game Drive for an additional 3TB of storage for £190. Just installing games now.

If you still have that Seagate drive, you can just hook it up to your PS5 and run the games directly from it.

Yeah my buddy said Verstappen was insanely fast but I assumed it was just their way of making the AI hard to beat

Can see Sony making a destiny tv show
That's pretty much already confirmed no? unofficially anyway.

I don’t anymore as gave it to my nephew as didn’t really need it in the end. 1TB is definitely enough for me as I tend to download a couple of games, play them & then delete them once finished.

If I remember correctly, I think Microsoft wanted Bungie to just keep churning out more Halo games. I think they were fine to make more but not just Halo games. MS supposedly, and probably correctly, wouldn't give them resources for anything else, no new IPs.

Why correctly?

Also, the whole myth the xbots came up with about how MS has magically "changed" is of course absolute nonsense. Not that Sony treat their teams much better, ask Psygnosis/Studio Liverpool.

Well I should probably add "correctly in my opinion". I seem to recall reading similar explanations from multiple sources at the time, and even if my memory is correct it doesn't make it true.

Ahh. It could have done without the second correctly at all as it reads like you are agreeing with MS more than you think the idea is correct.

Stray getting very good reviews. Really looking forward to playing.

Thinking of dropping AC Valhalla which is typically starting to feel chore-y.
