Gaming PlayStation 5

You take this all far too seriously.

That’s a completely novel way of simulating sound with a sound bar you loon. Hardly the norm. And it’s nothing to do with what the ps5 does. You claimed it does something special then couldn’t explain why. You still can’t.

Thanks for the spelling tips. Some of us are taking a min out of work and typing fast, not smoking weed all day. These things happen.
Soundbar, TV speakers, headphones, binaural... All the same thing right? 2 speakers simulating 3d audio. We're yet to see how well they implement that on speaker bars and multiple speaker setups but we know it's possible right? We've all experienced it, plus some accounts of it sounding ok over the TV speakers... So it should work right, nothing special, only what they claimed, full 3D using their Tempest engine. I think you'll find that's all I, and they promised. Your overstating this... Let's move on now it's getting boring.

I'm gonna have a few puffs at lunch btw, I bet you heard me talking about vaping and made all sorts of assumptions... Any more?

Yeah, that's good monitor and up there with some of the best around that price range. Not sure if it's still working but I was looking at it the other day and code DAE40S at the checkout on the Dell store reduced the price to £266 a few days ago.
Thanks , will take a look.

Its ok for the price but its HDR performance isn't great which i feel should be essential if you are mainly using it for console.

If budget can be stretched the Samsung Odyssey G7 is probs one of the best around but over £200 more

Tbf though HDR on most monitors is trash compared to tv's the peak brightness is just miles off

Im grinding through Demons Souls. Having a love/hate time thus far. Griveances come from the distance you have to traverse everytime you die, particularly in a boss battle, and the short cuts being more like medium cuts. And everthing can be so confusing so making your back to the boss and remembering the correct path can be a challenge unto itself. Defo the hardest Soulsborne to date.

How do you go about setting it up properly?

If you're lucky your TV is on rtings.com for best settings. If not, avforums is probably the best place to search for TV settings. Just search for your TV model.

Honestly though, HDR was designed for a brightness of 1,000 nits and relatively few TV's reach that at the moment. HDR a long way below that is more marketing unfortunately. OLED is a bit different though and doesn't need as bright.

My TV is a relatively low range Samsung one so I doubt it’d be all that. Will take a look though thank you.

Yeah, you may not get much difference, if any at all. TVs need to be HDR ready. If it's not, I'd have a pop down to the local TV place and have a look just to see the difference.

It defo has HDR but I’ve never noticed it to be honest. Yeah might give it m a go, cheers!

With hdr, you need to make sure that the signal info shows hdr . It requires a different hdmi mode. Different TVs support different combinations of resolution hdr and framerate. If you are lucky yours will support 4k hdr 60fps (ideally 120fps but that's still quite rare) . Sound codec content over the hdmi may also prohibit hdr - its related to hdmi bandwidth.

That being said, even if your TV supports the hdmi mode, to actually see a significant difference it needs a high dynamic range panel - meaning a big difference between the lowest and the highest luminance that can be displayed in a single frame. Oled tvs have a natural advantage in this , since their lowest luminance value is I.e zero.

Great news for my fellow PS5 gamers that. Here's to being a PS5 Gamer.

I think you can currently pick up Death Stranding for about £15 in certain places. I'll do that and get the £5 upgrade. Seems like a great deal that.

Right I need a break from Apex now so someone choose my next game. Either

Hades
Kena Bridge of Spirits
Immortal Fenyx Rising

Planning to play Metroid in October when it’s released, and then I’ll play through Death Stranding once upgraded (probably).

Is this for competitive online stuff? I think I'd want the potential for 4k and HDR if I was getting a monitor for a console, for single player games. Then switching to 1440p or 1080p at 120fps for competitive stuff.

Also make sure check they're compatible with consoles. Swear I read some aren't.
I just kinda wanna move away from TV. The only online game I play is Apex. I really want this one but out of stock everywhere

I’ll probably just wait for that to come in stock tbf. No point going cheap as I’ll just need to upgrade in the longer run.

I thought about it but figured I may as well just get a really good tv that can be benefitted from with movies etc. too. Will probably get the LG C1 at some point.
