Gaming PlayStation 5

Thank you for registering your interest in the PS5 on base.com.

You are no doubt now aware that the release date has now been confirmed as: Thursday 19th November 2020

We are waiting on notification of the exact number of consoles that we will have available for the release day.

Once we have this information, we will begin the process of inviting people, who have registered with us, to place their actual pre-orders.

If you have been selected in the first batch, you will receive an email on Friday 25th September notifying you and giving you the opportunity to place an order. Your window for ordering will be open for one week only after which time, if you have not ordered, your slot will be offered to the next selected person.

Please be sure to check your emails.

Once again, thank you for registering with us and we hope you are successful.

Kind regards

From base.com. I registered for a penny a few months back.

What an incredibly timed shit. Just checked a few whilst going about my business and got lucky with John Lewis.

There are loads still available here. Anyone wants?

Think I might cancel my pre-order with Amazon. Other than Watch Dogs Legion and the new COD, there's nothing that really interests me and these are both cross-gen anyway. Might just wait 'til next year when more games are out.

All retailers should have had a similar system in place. Why make people register interest if it was going to be a free for all on the day they went available.

I got an order through very but I'm still nervous it'll get cancelled due to demand.

My best mate has just text me saying “I think I’m gonna go for a PS5 at launch” ........

Ive been trying to get him in to the PS ecosystem from Xbox for years. I’ve bought a 360 and a One primarily so I can play online with him and two other mates (who often get both but are PS players really)

this is fantastic news but now I need to find him one. He’s the sort of guy that now he’s decided on a launch console, if he can’t get a PS5, he’ll just get an Xbox again!

Very are decent apparently. But I read on HUKD they get their stock from third party rather than it being delivered to their warehouse. So it’s basically like a glorified drop ship, so they can charge the suckers who can’t pay 38% interest.

So I’ve been thinking about this. It’s unlikely that the price drops next year right? And I have been playing my launch PS4 since well, launch. I never got the PS4 pro, so ostensibly for the games that are cross gen / or last Feb like cyberpunk the ps5 has now become my opportunity to play them on a PS4 pro.

I use Very a lot but that is the case with the large electronics. I ordered a TV from them a few months a go that said next day delivery on the site but took 2 weeks to arrive because it was coming directly from their supplier.

I've never had a problem with anything I've preordered on there though so hopefully that continues.

I assume so they knew how many they'd expect to sell and place an order? I agree though bit pointless on the customer side.

It's extremely unlikely that there will be a price drop on the console itself. However, next November (Black Friday in particular) and next Christmas there will most likely be some good bundles with games. That will be a much better deal than you'd get this year.

Yeah, but all the retailers said they would email people. None of them did. Currys just did it now, but it’s a day late after they took orders.

So I might as well get Cyberpunk for the PS5 if it comes out same day right?

Should one buy the PS5 with or without a disc reader? Not worth it to save £100 or?

It's worth noting that the "next-gen patch" for this isn't coming out until some time next year. It hasn't been announced exactly when.

Someone made a good point on here that if you have no disc reader you're at the mercy of the PS Store prices. At least with disc you can buy second hand games.

Yeah in the long run I guess I'd probably spend more than £100 on games from the store so I'll probably buy the one with a disc reader.

Is the PS5 getting 3D Audio support for Sony's WH-1000MX3 headphones? Honestly, I'd rather just use the superior 3D capable headphones I've got than have to buy the 90 pound pair.
