Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Depending on how old it is, you'll probably get a bag of crisps and a lollipop for it now (unless its brand new) Hugely popular console so the market is not a sellers market.
You won’t get a lot at all so worth just keeping in all honesty.

That sounds a good price no?

Mine has two controllers and some games. Just wondering if it's worth selling now then using the money towards a new one.

I thought it was a good price. I paid about £300 for mine 6 years ago. Was surprised that you can get 2/3rd of your money back after all these years.

Unfortunately I opened mine up to clean the fan so the warranty sticker was removed so they won't take it

it's crazy that the Pro still costs £349. Same price as the original when it came out in 2013. The PS4 has actually held up in value really well over the years.

I think I will sell. Problem is all the stores remain closed at the moment. Do you think it will okay to wait until mid June when they should reopen?

You can sell it online as well with cex. But yeah it will probably be fine as mid June isn't far away now.

You will miss out on the last of us 2 though

In Northern Ireland Pro's are going for 280 on gumtree. Going to sell mine after I complete Ghost of Tsushima which will probably be end of August. Going to wait until next gen before playing Cyberpunk.

Im playing Code Vein atm, a soulslike clone. It's actually pretty descent despite the mediocre reviews. It has very good user reviews on metacritic.

This was my second dive into the Souls type of games, with Bloodborne being the first. It confirmed to me that I absolutely hate this style of game and I will be staying far away from them in the future  The character creation in Code Vein was top notch, which I think was very popular with users, and to be fair I had a lot of fun with it. It was all downhill from there though

Just noticed that the PSVR has dropped in price everywhere and I'm sorely tempted - especially as I'm high risk and it would be nice to go further than my front door, even if it's virtually :D:wenger:. Sony have confirmed it will be compatible with the PS5 but is it worth getting one now or are they likely to produce a new souped up version within the next year? I'm not quite sure how the technology works ... does the quality of the headset have any bearing on the quality of what you're watching or is it all about the console (eg will you NEED a better headset to keep up with the technology or will the current one suffice?)

Just finished Deliver Us The Moon, a nice enough little jaunt with a decent story that plays out. Quite easy too nothing too taxing (apart from one bit where they had you zero g flying through some electrified wires that I died quite a few times on :nervous: ). But this was very enjoyable on the whole

If anyone played this and enjoyed it I'd recommend Observation which is pretty similar but i reckon is a better more clever game with a less grounded & deeper thought provoking sci fi story.

I completed DLUTM the other week and loved it.

Just a quick question for my Day one ps4. I'm thinking of selling the console to get funds for the ps5. I got a 2tb hard drive inside it. 2 controllers and about 3 or 4 games. TLOU, Death stranding, Shadow of War and maybe 1 or 2 more games. What price do you think is suitable for all this? I looked online and saw about 350 for a brand new one.

You sure you didn’t see the pro for 350?

The closer we get to November the more it'll depreciate.

Your best beat IMO is to capitalise on a popular game being released before the Ps5 is out and hope someone is willing to pay over the odds.

However a lot of retailers offer deals if you trade the old console towards the new one so that may be your best option if you don't want to be consoleless until November.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks

Anyone agree that the PS4 is close to being the best gaming console ever so far? Naturally each generation of consoles with improve on graphics, but I think coupled with the nice graphics the PS4 has a really great gaming catalouge. I havn't been so satisfied with a console in a long time. Lots of bargains for it as well.

Nah, PS2 was for me. Had a lot more variety than PS4, which admittedly is wonderful if you like AAA games.

I suppose the indie games make it diverse but there was something revolutionary about development during the PS2 era. It was much more exciting, for lack of a better word.

PS4 isn't exactly far behind though.

I actually read a comment today that the PS4 hadn't nearly the same quality of titles as the PS3 which I can't really comment on because the third generation was the one I was least involved with. Personally though I've loved the PS4 era and have had so much fun with it and have picked up so many old classics on the PSN.

I only have four more games that i'm looking forward to before I hopefully move onto the PS5 but out of the many I've played in this generation my top 5 would be;

1. Witcher 3
2. Resident Evil 2
3. Death Stranding
4. Persona 5
5. Alien Isolation (sentimental choice and an underrated game)

I cant believe how long mine has lasted. Sounds like a 747 everytime i play a BR. I got it the first christmas of its release and in terms of cost against use its been one of my best purchases ever.

Only thing i missed from the 360 was gears of war

Missed out on the PS2, went with gamecube and xbox instead. Borrowed a mates PS2 once though and went through some games.

I can't really put them in order but for me

The Witcher 3
Bloodborne
Dark Souls 3
Sekiro
Nioh 2
Nioh
The last of Us 2
Yakuza 0
Red Dead Redemption 2
Resident evil 2 Remake
Yakuza Kiwami 1 & 2
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Resident Evil 7 biohazard
Nier: Automata
Shadow of the colossus

But also the best of PS3 is either ported or remastered on the PS4

I limited mine to just PS4 releases (though I think Alien Isolation also released on the PS3 at the same time) but had I not I would have included Shadow of the Colossus as I never played the PS2 original. I'm glad I got the chance to experience it.

RE7 was very good too, and FF7 remake was great (up until the last two chapters which I really didn't like)

Same initially. I only went back to PS2 some years later but it was amazing picking up all the hidden titles I'd missed to that point. Helped it was chipped :nervous:

Again though, PS4 is pretty amazing. I'm not planning to buy any of the new consoles for at least a few years because I've still got so much to play (Persona 5, Dragon Quest XI, God of War, The Last of Us 2, Shenmue 3, FFVII Remake, Resident Evil 2/3, Control, Detroit: Become Human, The Witness).

PS4 is the best by far. Way too many amazing games. Only negative was Mass effect and MGS 5, which is hard to take from a MGS fanboy.

Can anyone recommend me some games? I switched fairly late from XB1 to PS4 this generation, and feel like I still have a lot to cover.

So far I’ve played:

- Uncharted 4 (tried playing the collection too, but the first game felt so outdated, I couldn’t get into it)
- Spider-Man
- Last of Us 1 & 2
- Jedi Fallen Order
- God of War (thought it was awful, didn’t play past the first boss)

Any others to get through? I prefer single-player narrative-driven games, no online multiplayer shite

You heathen what was wrong with God of War????

I'd say Horizon Zero Dawn or Sekiro should be your next game.

God of War (thought it was awful, didn’t play past the first boss)

Horizon: Zero Dawn is a fantastic game with a very good single player story campaign. Can't wait for Forbidden West to come out for PS5
