Players you had forgotten existed

Someone was talking about a long lost player the other day, but I've forgotten who it was.

John Obi Mikel

Heard his name mentioned on the radio last night as they were reading out team news for Middlesbrough v Bristol City. Had to google to see if it was really him or if I misheard. It's not so much that I forgot that he existed, it was that I never knew he was there. Didn't know he'd been in China until recently either and thought he was languishing somewhere in the depths of Chelsea's squad still.

Ryan Babel.
Completely forgot him and suddenly he is a vital part in this newly formed Netherlands team, feels like he is arround for 30 years.

Germany had a couple of players during their transitional period that could have been important but it didn't really happen for them. I'm thinking:
Tim Borowski
David Odonkor
Mike Hanke

Made some good films though.

Sulley Muntari was mentioned today, was in one of the racism reports of players who've suffered abuse in Italy.

Apparently now plays for Albacete.

Bojan - The next Messi who ended up at Stoke City.
Alexandre Pato - Seemed to be the next big thing. Disappeared for a couple of years and ended up at Chelsea.
Oscar - Hyped up together with Coutinho. Left for China and never heard of him again.
Carrasco - Seemed to be some prospect and scored in the CL Final. Then, he just disappeared to China.

Ryan Babel.

'Vital part'. Not really, they are just waiting the right moment to bring Bergwijn, Kluivert and Calvin Stengs in the team.

Reminded on another thread of Loic Remy's existance. Not sure if he's retired now but he scored loads in France and then had a good season at Newcastle which think meant he went to Chelsea but didn't do much there.

Diego Tristan. I remember him being lethal for Deportivo, disappeared, ended up at West Ham for a bit, then disappeared again.

Who was that little Colombian that played for Porto who was supposed to be the next big thing? By the way I’m not talking about James.

there was one guy from FM that always had amazing technical attributes but was fairly useless despite that. he was simply called Leonardo and was first at Feyenoord, then at Ajax. dribbling and technique both 20, good physical attributes as well, yet was shit whenever I played him (and I played dutch league a lot).

Viktor Sikora, Y. Hersi, D. de Ridder and J. Vonlanthen as well, FM 2005 "gems" from dutch league.

Yes. That’s the one. Thanks it was pissing me off for awhile because I couldn’t remember.

He lost his motivation for football for a while but done very well at River Plate and had good WC for Colombia. Doubt he's bothered about coming back to europe.

When Origi came on last night my mate called him David N'Gog 2.0. I had totally forgotten about his existence. Then N'Gog 2.0 scored

I was playing FM19 the other day and saw Jack Rodwell released... he’s still only in his late 20’s

Sandro the old Spurs DM. I remember they got him young, he played good for six months and he was suddenly hyped up as one of best DMs in europe. Then fell out of favour and ended up at QPR where he barely did anything. Guess he's back in Brazil now.
