Players you don't want United to sign this Summer

Eric Dier, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Michael Keane. The only English player I will take is Kane (not even Alli as we may get Griezmann), Schmeichel, Lukaku, Barkley, Lindelof

Joey Barton, Lee Cattermole, Huerelho Gomes, that lad from my local Sunday league team who has a smoke at half time, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Adriano, Bebe.

Mbappe. Massive fee and a massive gamble. James rodriguez has a di maria mk 2 about him as well. Will be pretty demotivated from rejection and being overlooked for years.

Agreed. Especially the Rodriguez part.

Kroos - Don't get me wrong, he is a class midfielder, but quite slow, and I believe there are better options. Herrera and Pogba should stay as the central two just ahead of a more defensive midfielder (Fabinho). No need for Kroos. But heck, I'd swap him for Fellaini if that is possible?

Madrid signed Woodgate and Faubert, so you never know.

I don't think Lukaku would improve us in Europe, which has to be taken into consideration. He either drifts in and out of games (particularly against the big sides) or plays as a big physical presence, which isn't popular with continental referees. A useful option in the league, but for the figures being quoted, that's not really enough.

The prospect of Keane returning worries me. He's had one good season with Burnley; again, if we want to challenge for the title and with the European elite, we need to raise our ambitions. I get that he's a former youth prospect, but we need someone who will come in alongside Bailly and improve the team - for me, Keane is at the same level as Smalling and Jones.

Dier, for me, blew his chances when he started mouthing off about potential-captain Herrera in the press. We don't need a divided locker room. Further, Levy would have us pay through the nose for him, and we don't want to significantly financially strengthen a team who have consistently finished above us since Fergie retired.

EDIT: Perhaps controversially given recent leaks, I'd like to see us retain Ibrahimovic. Sentimentally, he took a long-term injury in the line of duty for us, and it would be poor form to callously cast him aside after that (we did the right thing by Fletcher; given Zlatan single-handedly won us several games this season, I'd like to see the same gesture extended, particularly if it was on a pay-as-you-play deal). More practically, a better footballing mind than mine once thought it might not be a bad idea to take an aging Swedish striker, who many wrote off as being past his best, to Old Trafford in order to ease the burden on a talented but young strikeforce...

Dier, Keane, Lukaku, James and Bale for what they'll offer to the team given their price.

It's hard to make a comprehensive list though given that we're linked to every single player under the moon.

Willian, Keane, Dier.

All decent players, but United don't need 'decent', and the youngsters can fill in the gaps when first teamers are unavailable. Rather have TFM as back up for a a new DM than Dier, especially if he would cost around £40m.

You should check his injury record from last two seasons first.
Sure his injuries have been a problem, but a player of Bales quality is worth all the risk in the world. He's good enough to fire any team in the top 6 into first in my opinion. Mourinho also has an impressive injury record as well.

Kroos would be a great signing for us. Not sure why people wouldn't want him. Perfect fit as the passer next to Pogba with a DM behind them, and in easier games when we play a midfield 2 his passing is so good he'd help us a lot too.

There's no use of players' quality if he cannot stay fit. Also, Mou's impressive injury record didn't help us much, at least with crocks like Jones or Smalling, so I have my doubts it would help Bale sadly, good player as he is. We'd just end up frustrated even fruther that we're constantly going through injury crisis.

Twelve spells out injured since he joined them in 2014, six of them his left calf. Id be excited if we signed him but hes got the hallmarks of a player who's going the darren anderton route.

Controversial but I fear Greizmann might not be the Hazard/Sanchez type player we need. I've watched him play for most of this season and previous seasons and although he is very good, he isn't top 10 in the world for me.

I'd take him for 50-55m but for the 90m mark......I think we can do better with the money.

I think Bale could be rehabilitated, but with Griesmann's buy-out and the fact that Bale has rejected Utd several times before, the Frenchman looks the safer option on the right wing.

Hazard/Sanchez are both right footed, and Utd need some balance. In attack.

Kroos would be a silly signing, I dont know why some fans seem obsessed with him. He's not a DM, he's not dynamic, he's basically an inferior Pogba. He'd cost a fortune and cause twice as many problems as he'd solve. I'd be looking at Thiago Maia, Veratti, Ruben Neves- Veratti would be a perfect partner for Pgba, as a character as much as anything.

No he isn't. We need more pace and width in the side and d Costa would give us just that.
I don't think we have one true winger in the side at the moment.

OH YES HE I.....nvm.

TBH, whenever I've watched him play he blows so hot and cold for me. And his attitude seems to stink. The fact most Bayern fans want shot of him, says a lot. Seem him do the spectacular a few times, but for my money he'd be an incredibly frustrating signing. Do not want.

Even if we aren't interested in him, we really need a winger who offers us pace and width. It would open up space for the rest of the team to work with and make us dangerous in the counter. Sadly there aren't too many options out there at the moment when it comes to wingers. If bale wasn't injured all the goddamn time he'd be perfect.

Rodriguez. I just don't see the point. He is a good player, but not what we need.

Purely out of interest, who would you sign instead with that money? Taking into account what we need is goals, and excluding signings that wouldn't happen (like Lewandowski etc).

Michael keane-average
Any porto player- overrated
James- don't need him
Kane- not good for big games

Puskas.
Stanley Matthews.
Slippy G.
Bobby Moore.
Eusebio.

They're all dead or dead shite.

I'd go for someone like Aubameyang, Kane or Lacazette. Maybe they are not the big flashy signing Greizmann would be but they would all cost less and almost certainly get more goals. Greizmann managed 16 goals in La Liga last season, for a 80m+ player that isn't great. He would be an excellent option from the wing, an inside forward, but that isn't what we need. We need a consistent goal scorer.

Utd need so much restructuring I really don't think it's worth talking telephone numbers for established striker when either Rashford or Martial will be expected to take up that mantle in the next 18 months to two years.

I would take Mbappe and Griezmann and play them on either wing, with the two above fighting it out for a central role. The outlay would be huge, but, injury permitting, I fail to see how that front three would not get a LOT of goals. Also, Mbappe would hold- or even increase his value- for about 8 years. A worthwhile gamble for a player I think will be the CR7 of his generation.
