Correctly predicted Portugal to win Euro 2016
Ideal opportunity - we'll play 4-5-1 as per so why not give him a game and not risk Ole getting injured in a game that we can actually afford not to win?

Nicosia is in Cyprus, he's talking about the Haifa game.

No, as in tonight game you'll face a thousands of hostile greek nutters, while next tuesday the cypriot greek will be on our side...

True, as long as you don't go around Istanbul saying that

Why?
They hit 6 against Leverkusen!

TBH, I don't think it will be the easiest of games. But then, if we don't start him because "it won't be that easy" and we only play him against Haifa "because it will be a walk in the park and can't possibly not score against THAT defence", how frigging encouraging is that?
Would he scoring against Haifa make him (or us) any more confident about his abilities? I think we should give him a chance tonight, one half against Leverkusen and the Haifa game. I know it's not fair on Ole but then, he must be aware we need to get this lad confident and scoring for the sake of the team.

I was referring to the complacency, and not to wether Diego should start. Ole complained about fatigue, so Diego could get a chance.
I don't think he should play against Haifa because they are weak, but because a point tonight should see us through. Haifa won't be easier than tonight. On paper, both are supposed to be easier than Bolton at OT...

Give him 90 minutes by all means, but not by himself.
And I don't think it's more important for Diego to score than to win the group. Finishing first is supposed to be beneficial in later rounds, though I know it doesn't always end up that way.

You have a point actually - about him up front on his own. I'm changing my mind now - play him up front with Ole in a 4-4-2.

but fergie will definitely go with 4-4-1-1 in this game.. it will be a good test of the team's midfield abilities IMO.
I think SAF will see this as an excellent opportunity to see how the midfield copes without RVN. We should see Veron Giggs and Becks work their magic a little as there's no RVN to rely on...
But definitely TBH, play forlan the full 90 minutes. Ole won't complain too much as he seems to be getting a lot more games than he ever did this season.

But on the other hand......
Ole took a knock apparently. I think Diego did it.

I'm never too excited to the idea of "giving him 90 minutes." If he can perform, he can do it in 30 minutes. If he can't, it's no use to give him 900 minutes.</strong><hr></blockquote>
i think he had lost his chance of getting in the starting XI. Now, fergie is really has a reason to bench him. I doubt he'll play full 90 again unless ole and RVN is injured.

He was probably trying to say that Ole is getting more games this season than ever before.

Nistelrooy10 got what I was saying..
Yes, i meant that Ole is getting a lot of games this season so he won't have much to complain about not playing against Olympiakos.. he would know that it's Forlan's chance by all means...

Has Diego ever played in a quality league?</strong><hr></blockquote>
that isn't a fair comment i reckon. Veron came from a top league, but is still playing at a sub-standard level for us...
i think the point has been made long ago that our PL is much tougher than the others.. the demand is much great with 38 games played during a season plus two more cup-ties and european cups for the top teams.. it's a lot to ask for really.

I'm not talking about Veron.
I'm talking about Forlan and whether or not he has only played in a sub-standard league.

I thought you were blaming the Argentinian league for the poor displays of Forlan in the PL.. coz if that's the case then you can see that Veron isn't doing wonders at the club either..

I'm just saying that if all the best Argentinian players are in Europe, the league Forlan was in might not have been any better than a Div One side here - which is a lot different to PL quality. In which case, no-one would have known what his ability actually was.

In that case, perhaps you should forward your question to mr. martin ferguson

Now that fergie has stated his intention to purchase a striker during the Jan transfer window, I doubt you'll see forlan starting another game after that.</strong><hr></blockquote>
What made you so sure that we will definitely get a striker in Jan? And even if we really get one, chances are that the new striker may be just as poor as Diego or Veron.

I just wonder what is our scout system doing in all these two years.

He didnt get a shot on goal in the first half, he fluffed a great chance when Scholes put him through in the second. His best moment was the back heal to Scholes when he hit the post.
Basically he did ok but once again failed to threaten the goal. Is that good enough ???</strong><hr></blockquote>
What worries me is that we were playing against shit opposition. And two midfielders and a defender did manage to score.
I hope we can get Eidur or someone similar come January.
