PL Gameweek 1 | 16/08/24 - 19/08/24

I fecking despise Sky interviewers. Desperately trying to get the Chelsea manager to say something 'controversial' about Sterling. It's pathetic, it really is.

This modern interview style of trying to goad the interviewee to say exactly what they they want them to say needs to die.

It’s bizarre, especially when they want to sell Gallagher who is probably a better player.
It's all about PSR compliance for this year with Gallagher. He's an academy player so it's pure profit. Lots of short term moves to remain compliant.

Another rough game, no side starting the season well. Arsenal of the front runners look the most accomplished if they have their shooting boots on.

Nice we finally won a game without Rodri, feels like about 4 years. Good start from Savinho, hopefully not out for too long given Bobb is also out.

Kovacic probably MotM after Savinho went off. KDB, Foden (when he came on), Akanji look like they're not close to ready. Might be relying on Erling to carry us early doors this season as he looks really sharp.
After the euros and copa, it’s going to be a slow start to the season for everyone.

Catching up on MOTD. How many goals have been given away this week, by mistakes when trying to play out the back? If you don't have the players with the techical ability to do so,then don't

Do MU fans actually want us to play like this City team? Yes it is effective, but fck me is it boring... I was barely watching, was on my phone or talking with the missus for most of the match. Such a snoozefest of a team.

Geoff Shreeves was at that carry on for years so they simply replaced like for like? who was the woman with the robotic voice for the interviews on Friday for the United match.

Fatawu vs Porro has potential to be an interesting matchup, if they play on the same side.

Didn't realise they were still playing Faes. He was a disaster the last time in the PL.

A bit surprised to see Kulusevski on the bench as he was probably our best player during preseason. Hoping for a Bergvall appearance at some point in the second half…he showed some brilliant flashes on the summer tour. Overall bench looks quite strong.

Leicester's team looks very average. If they don't get a couple of good loan deals I can see them going straight back down.
That Fatawu was regarded as a bit of a wonderkid a couple of years back. Could be one to keep an eye on.

Although that's probably scraping the barrel because that lineup looks pretty dreadful.

Yeah I think Ipswich and them will struggle and then it will be a shoot out between 5ish teams for the last spot.

Yeah he is an interesting talent. And yes, also the only exciting player in their squad  Well Faes is maybe exciting but not for the right reasons.

Their plan is really to come back up to the PL with 37 year old Jamie Vardy starting games?

Have they got somebody else injured/on the way?

9 seasons since Leicester won the league? Mad. And Vardy’s still there.

Is Vestergaard the tallest PL player since Crouch (outside GK) ?

This Leicester side is going to get hit with at least one points deduction too.

On paper I really like the look of that Spurs back four. Porro, not the best defensively but dynamite going forwards, Udogie who I think is a really solid and exciting left back. Hard man and general defensive general Romero, and the lightning quick and technically excellent Van der Ven.

It feels like they assembled that defence in about five minutes too. I think it was only Romero there under Conte and he was technically on loan at the time if I remember right.
