PL Gameweek 1 | 16/08/24 - 19/08/24

think the ref was giving the foul and yellow anyway.
Ah ok, cheers. Would be sensible if VAR can intervene on blatant yellows, whether or right though.

Don't think there is any team really looking amazing in this first round of games which is to be expected after a Euros.

This feels a bit like a 1980s Boxing Day match with both teams a bit hungover.

Haaland moves so awkwardly. He does have an absolutely incredible eye for goal, but he really looks like he's never practiced any other part of the game.

This match just reminds me not to watch too many Man. City games this year. Chelsea usually give them a decent game but when they're in control like this it's really boring to watch as a neutral.

The new guidelines on handball save Kovacic there, last season thats given 100%

Chelsea got a penalty for less than that against us last season.

Now watch that be given by onfield ref, and not overturned by VAR for someone next week.

They never got given against City though, Jack Grealish literally saved a goal in the FA Cup Semi when he handled the ball to stop it going in the net and nothing was given.

They've changed the rules, it was getting ridiculous with defenders trying to keep their arms behind their backs when challenging for the ball in the box, and to be honest from that distance it shouldn't be a pen.

Finding it hilarious that commentary has to explain who these players are when they come on because no body has a clue

Have they changed again? What are they now?
Basically they're gone back to a few years ago where if it looks like the player couldn't do anything about it, no pen. And the VAR intervention bar has been raised too, so its no longer stepping on subjective decisions.

Maresca has an ear piece in so he can learn too.
