Philippe Coutinho Barcelona Player

I keep my opinion on Coutinho: he simply doesn't have the profile to fit in Barça's style. He's one of those players that will thrive as an attacking midfielder on a 4x2x3x1 or as a support striker on any 4x4x2 variants

He's not a winger and he's not a good choice to be employed as a "pure" midfielder.
 
Sounds like another player who's difficult to put in a position. Perfect for us then

Liverpool should re-sign him. The only thing they really lack is production from midfield, and that's the best thing he provides. Someone to fall back on if one of their front 3 isn't there or aren't producing.

Countinho --- Fabinho --- Keita/Henderson midfield improves them immensely.

His individual performance could be better but not sure about the team's in general. His defensive contribution is very limited.

I know he's been shit since his move to Barca, but he was undeniably quality before that. Not only his last six months where it all clicked, but some seasons before that too. I'd love to see him back.

It would make sense for Barcelona, Liverpool and Coutinho aswell.
 
He's a SS/a no 10/left forward provided with a free roaming role. I think he looked his best at the tip of the diamond for Liverpool before his move to Barca. Messi already have the free roaming role at Barca.

I don't want him here. Very lazy player. He's become languid also.

Is he though? Coutinho was comfortably better than Neymar in the WC and while yes Neymar was WC for Barca he moved to a league where it's easy to look good (and even then does he look as good now at PSG as he did at Barca?)

I've no idea why Coutinho has flopped at Barca but he was an exceptional player

The best thing liverpool did was sell him, his finances their European dominance. Cut in and shoot that’s all he is.

Him leaving has allowed the midfield to be more balanced and allowed the front 3 freedom.

He had a purple patch(Coutinho) and is now regressing to the mean.

Liverpool have proper mugged Barcelona off.

Hindsight

Not one person was saying that at the time . Utd fans were glad he was gone from Liverpool
 
He did well for Liverpool but I couldn't help notice they looked better without him at the time and now they have got the defence sorted with his fee.

Sticking his fingers in his ears to the barca fans with his consultation goal has backfired.

He's talented but character and work rate are questionable.

Coutinho becoming nothing player is a hindsight yeah but selling him to enforce the weak points in the squad is a brilliant management from them. Some times you simply have to sell to rebuild.
 
Worst transfer of all times?

I couldn't believe serious club like Barcelona would offer that kind of money for fecking Coutinho, but it turned out to be true. He is a decent player, but it was obvious he is playing at his peak for Liverpool and even that peak wasn't that good, and it was obvious that he is player for smaller teams that will have team built around him, allowing him to dwell on the ball, play everything through him and allow him ten shots per game, which will obviously never work for a team competing for throphies, and not we scored nicest goal trophy. Liverpool improved after his departure.
 
Became a nothing of a player, now I understand why do they want Mata as a free agent, because he looks like a Mata poor’s man
 
Coutinho has always suited a counterattacking team where he finds enough space to crack open a shot or a good pass.

With time in the ball and the way Barcelona play - he is way too easy to defend against.
