He won't get another contract, that money might good now but to last the rest of his life won't be easy if he wants the lifestyle he is used too. Lets be honest people get bored too in life, he needs something else.

I agree with you that he should just feck off but I'm pretty sure that there will be some Everton or WBA who will still pay silly wages for a guy who's not much of a defender nevermind a football player as he can't stay fit.

Read somewhere that he's on £80k a week. That can't be right?

Outlandish. He earns more in a week (£50,000) than most people earn in a year. That's 52 years of wages, in a single year. A lifetime of wages in 12 months. £2.6m per year.
Maybe he should adjust the lifestyle he's used to... poor Phil, imagine having enough money to be bored in life!

The sooner Utd ship him off to Sunderland the better.

He's been the very definition of deadwood for a while.

Definitely.

I really doubt he will break through in any way this year, isn't he injured already?

We should cut our losses in January or next summer. Probably should have been done this summer.

A change is scenery is what he needs. Something has to give. It's not going to happen for him here.

Viv Anderson - A sicknote here and became fit once he left.

Darren Fletcher - Has rarely missed a game for West Brom.

Yeah sometimes people can be a bit in their shell and comfortable. He needs a shock to the system that might make him man up a bit.

Agreed.

One of my favourite players, but I'm losing patience with him. This was an ideal situation for him to get game time, which could be few and far between this season, and he's injured. I know it's not his fault (maybe it is) but he needs to sort himself out.

lol. That's him done then. A month out, then 2-3 weeks to get back to fitness. We'll be 1/3 into the season and he won't have played a game.

As far as deadwood goes it doesn't get any deader than Phil Jones. This lad would disintegrate at the sight of sandpaper.

Even jose can't save him eh?

Pretty sad though. Some talented player. He still have time though.

Should've been sold in summer. Release him, I doubt anyone would pay us for his services. he'll have a hard enough time passing a medical.

I thought people were just joking about him being injured again and he simply hadn't made the squad, he's a wreck at this point, he's missed so much time.

Why is this guy still at the club? Not only is he ALWAYS injured but when he does play he is a massive donkey.

Jesus fecking Christ. I've been a huge fan of him and maintained we should keep him, but this is just taking the piss.

He'll be 25 in February. Not much of a young up and coming talent anymore, he needs consistent game time and his body just won't allow it.

I don't think Phil Jones exist and we've been taken for a ride since 2011.

It just never ends! Really feel for him but it's time he left for pastures new.

Since joining Utd he's missed 84 games due to injury. Any bets on him reaching 100 this season?

I will add Paul McGrath to that list

Something is seriously wrong at the club. It could be that we're too soft towards our players and they take full advantage of it.

Evans couldn't keep himself fit even during the off-season so that he's always injured when the season started and the same Evans nowadays hardly misses any games through injury. Not even a contact injury! Nani always had his hamstring injury during his time here and the same Nani played every single game the very first season he's away!

I'm pretty sure as soon as Jones leaves the club he'll become fully fit again and considering he's only 24, won't be surprised if he becomes the monster of a player that he showed during the early stages of his career.

Probably best if he goes elsewhere and take him out of his comfort zone. I would sell him tbh, but failing that he needs a loan. Can't get any consistency if he's always injured. He's really made of glass isn't he?:(
