The goal was largely Pogba's fault obviously but he caused the situation in the first place. No matter how well he is playing he just always has a mistake in him. Evans was the exact same.

He can't handle it when teams press from the front. He panics and either loses it or plays a dodgy ball back to the keeper.

Definitely has a mistake in him but thankfully it wasn't taken advantage of. Looks okay in general but composure isn't great today.

We conceeded a penalty from corner created by Phil Jones all by himself. It's not a direct mistake, and Pogba takes more blame, but he takes lot of blame too from conceeding a corner and nervousness at the back out of nothing.

The time he was dispossessed by Firmino, he shouldn't be taking a touch, but surely De Gea or someone should be giving him a shout telling him to get rid.

Yep, still shit in big games. Also the master of shit backpasses and putting pressure on our other players.

Little things but why the feck didn't he play that pass infront of Valencia? It'd allow Valencia to be running into the box and have a proper cross in.

A bit of intelligence missing.

Absolutely shat the bed. All he did was pass back to De Gea and pray nobody took him on.

So frustrating that his first instinct is always to pass back to De Gea. Kills any momentum, and just shows a lack of willing to take any responsibility.

I know exactly what you mean, right at the end there right?

Apart from that one mistake, he was pretty good. Brave and not afraid to put his body on the line

He was nervy in the first half and had a hard time with Origi, slightly better in the second half though.

But they did well against Rondon!!!!!!!!!!!

I was about to post the exact same thing.

Yeah. It's a small thing, but those angles make such a difference.

It's why Martial and Mikhi and Rashford are so good at facing up defenders. Their first touches generally get them in a straight line at goal and the defender gets square or straight on.

Apart from today, Pogba is an expert at passing so his recipient is receiving in space facing the goal. It wasn't a difficult pass for Jones there.

Rojo has been better then him on this unbeaten run.

One? He has his edgy with his indecisiveness and lack of authority. Atleast once a game he basically begs DDG to come out to sort something out that he could take some responsibility with and deal with.

Spurs and Arsenal not big games then?

Apart from his little mistake, which lead to the corner, he was fine.

Everyone is so quick to jump on the bandwagon.

The guy has come back from injury, having been out for God knows how long. Has a run of very good games, makes one mistake and people start exaggerating.

I couldn't believe that. Was a horrible pass that messed up a promising move.

In most cases they were correct decisions and something GKs do when the oppo presses in that sort of manner. Nothing wrong in that. I do agree he was a bit nervy but definitely he wasn't as bad as people are making him out to be

I think with Jones, I don't really feel confident with him in the defence. He's played well, I won't deny that. But he doesn't exude authority or control, and that's an issue for me. Im not saying everyone feels the same.

He looked a bag of nerves, kept passing it back to DDG needlessly a lot of times too.

Needs much more composure.

Well said.

I thought he was good overall but the absolute buffoonery that led to their goal was quite special.

He still needs to work on his composure on the ball, Rojo is a lot better than him in this department

That mistake would not have happen if he's a bit more composed

Phil Jones made one mistake. But it was Pogba that was at fault for allowing Liverpool to capitalize on it. He was very good apart from that and read the game well for me.

He's still an issue in the air. Gets under the ball far too often and it's been present all throughout his career here.

Kamikaze defending today. He's performed way better than I thought he was capable of, this season. But today he was a bit of a mess.

Thanks! Care to say what is that I said is wrong?

Pretty much every word in the post I quoted. This place is the same after every bad result. Divisive players who have an average game and make a mistake or two are written off as having permanent flaws in their character by twats who have hated eating their words during a previous run of good form.

He was good against Spurs but was involved in a goal against Arsenal too.

He was involved in basically every dangerous situation today, have you watched the game? Involved in the goal, involved in the first situation after Coutinho was brought on when we could have conceeded after shit shot from Firmino, Jones was way up field missing headers. Also the situation when him and Valencia I think left Wijnalduum all alone, which was luckily another terrible finish. That's just off top of my head, all three very good situations for Liverpool.

What the feck are some people on about? He's been excellent in plenty of big games over the last years.

Today he had one dodgy back pass and plenty of brilliant moments, especially in the last 20 minutes.

He's susceptible to the odd brainfart and lapses in concentration, but was largely pretty solid. Needed Rojo to bail him out on a couple of occasions as well.

So why is he marking Emre Can and Pogba marking Lovren? And why doesn't he go up corners?

Are his ankles or knees that fecked up that he can't jump at set pieces?

Don't know what all the complaining is about, made one mistake.

He is actually very good at winning possession within the 18 yards box and hold his nerve quite well in these situations, Smalling on the other hand would fall to the floor and grab the players leg. I like Jones and I hope he becomes a regular.
