I cant understand how a man can play for and love a team so much for so long, then today be delighted with himself and acting like citys biggest fan with their fans. How the hell can you explain that.

No, but there was no need for him to rub it in, he was acting like he hated United, if he was so professional he could have tryed to look sympathethic. BTW, you watch your name calling or else you'll need those spare ribs. fecking yank, dont you know the rest of the world hates you ego maniacs.

Don't direct your anger at Schmikes. Direct it at those in the red shirts today who didn't put in. Schmikes never let us down when he played for us.

To be called a traitor I expect he must have been doing aeroplane impressions and singing Munich songs.
He is now a City player we should expect him to be happy with the result, it's the mark of a true pro, not a traitor.

He was going on about how "massive" the Shitty fans were for them today - never heard a crowd so loud, blah blah - as Keano said he's a poser - great keeper tho.

But doesn't Keane eventually want to play for Celtic,so he's not a red 'through and through' either. So if Keane eventually goes to Celtic and they beat Man yoo in either the Champions leage , or the EUFA cup , will he be a traitor too?

I'll second that, remember his celebrations last year when Villa scored against us, undoubtedly the man was a legend for us but he blotted his copybook.

First I didn't say he was a traitor - of course he want's shitty to win - but he could have found smg less nauseous to say IMO.
Second UTD and Celtic have always had close ties. Keono is never going to put on a sky blue rag or turn up at Anfield like that gobshite Charlie.
Smikes was a hero for us - but never a Red through and through - we just happened to be the club he played for. If the Scouse had got him first he'd have done the same for them - which is fair enough - but different fromt he way that some of our players like Keane feel about the club.

Let's all start a campaign to see if this member can possibly interact with fellow supporters without being abusive.
It's going to take much concentration but if you can just succeed all of Salford will be proud of you.

When Batistuta moved from Fiorentina to Roma he never once said he was the happiest man on earth.. because he really loved Fiorentina from deep down in his heart..
When Batistuta scored against Fiorentina in their first encounter he actually cried.. no celebrations.. he just cried.. Roma won that game by 1-0 scoreline with that being the only goal scored.
That is what i call a true professional. you do your job right, but you shouldn't gloat. gloating by an ex-player is called ungrateful - not being professional by any means.

If he had of been all sad and distraught by the win the city fans would turn on him, they didnt even want him in the first place because of his Utd links.
As for Keanos comments, thats bulls*%t. If Keane had of gone to the Poo he would have been one of them through and through, as would most players, not all but most.

he can be happy for the win.. but there never the need to gloat.. even idiots will understand if an ex-player is not entirely comfortable about winning his old team.. he can be happy, but it was bad to see he felt very comfortable about it..
that just hurts.

when batistuta scored against fiorentina and cried, he won the heart of Roma fans that day.. while still keeping intouch the emotions of Fiorentina's fans..
Big Pete today won the hearts of the Shitty fans.. but threw away the support we have had for him since day one he joined us.. many of us wished him well when he joined Shitty too.. thinking he would have atleast appreciated us over the 10 years he spent with us.. oh how we were fooled..

that's the diff between Schmikes and Cantona. Both legends on the field, but Eric was a real classy, spiritual type of bloke, and he said he will never play against Man Utd. He truly loved the club and was grateful for everything that happened there, whereas Schmikes is one unsentimental mercenary.

i agree with everything you said.. but please.. it's not ONE bad game.. it's been a bad season.. and last season was also the start of the decline.. no matter what any says about us finishing OK last season (3rd and semi of CL), it was clearly a sign of things to come this season.. we're 5th with Evertone above us and just lost the first derby match in 13 years.
now we have two merseysiders above us.. feckin hurtful!

Remember that many professional footballers are mercenaries.
When players can be sold without their consent, despite the huge wages (yes, even mediocre players can earn huge wages when we consider what a usual worker earns let alone those who are receiving unemployment or other benefits), that does not foster old-time loyalty to a football club.
However, I can understand the anger directed at Peter Schmikes. He did not leave Old Trafford under a cloud - he left on the highest note possible, with the fans and club singing his praises.
Imo there was no need for him to go over the top today. His attitude was similar to that of Paul Ince, who is an arrogant prick and shows that arrogance when he plays against Manchester United. However, Ince had a falling out with Sir Alex and is convinced, rightly or wrongly, that the management did the wrong thing by him.
But what is Schmike`s excuse? Why rub the defeat of Manchester United in, even if MU and City are such rivals? I can see why he was not the most popular player when he was with us. A bighead is a bighead, even if he plays for Manchester United.
Probably Schmikes is showing his true colours - not read, not blue, but the colours of an arrogant Big Time Charlie, and maybe more deserving of the title than Ince given that Schmikes had the star treatment at Old Trafford and it continued up until now.

Money does strange things to people..Its a pity its a major part of modern day footy...Thats why TRUE loyalty is hard to come by these days..The last of the true loyalists was Le Tissier for the Saints imo.....

i mentioned Batistuta in my earlier post.. he's the man who leads by example on how you should treat your beloved team.. i felt it when Batistuta scored against Fiorentina then cried.. the stadium felt it.. the whole of italian football and its fans felt it.. it was a moment of true love for your team..
