IMO the three 'big' signings we are linked with making now are

Vidal
Di Maria
Hummels.

do people think we will sign any ONE of them? Not all, just one.

Yes or no, forever have your pessimism/muppetry for the caf to see and have made fun of.

No discussion. Go.

I think we'll sign one. Either Di Maria or Vidal.

Vidal = No
Di Maria = Unfortunately Yes
Hummels = No

Isn't this just a fancy way of making another poll thread without actually making a poll?

Yeah, all 3 and then Cavani for good measure. Then Sanchez from Arsenal and a cheeky bid for Flintoff from cricket.

I think even if we have all the monety in the world we'd struggle to sign all 3, each signing has its own set of issues:

Vidal - we're hoping that no one buys Pogba first
Hummels - Dortmund have no need to sell and he seems settled there so wont rock the boat
Di Maria - Potential for PSG to blow us out of the water.

But I am an optimist in that I believe that these are our transfer targets.

Hummels - No (will stay at Dortmund)
Vidal - maybe (Pogba has a massive say in this)
Di Maria - No (PSG)

I think he'd pick United over PSG. No logical reason for this it's just what I think.

All three? Well over £100M on top of the £56M spent so far? Over £200M in the space of 8 months?

Obviously yes. And a couple more on top.

There are only two possible reasons we would not be in for Sanchez, we already have a top winger nailed down or we aren't interested in wingers and will do with what we have. I fear that it is the second option, that we have spent more than ever already on Mata, Herrera and Shaw and that we wont spend more.

Hopefully we will be able to sell players and free up wages and money for ingoing transfers thanks to that.

I think we will sign one of them. Vidal is the most likely, Di Maria much less so, Hummels seems very unrealistic.

I think missing out on one of them (Vidal say) will push us to put extra effort into signing one of the others. I'm basing this entirely off the idea that the club wants a marquee signing.

Signing more than one of them would make this by far the best transfer window we've ever had so I'm calling bullshit on that. Just one though...?

Vidal - No, i don't think so if the rumors of Pogba to Chelsea are correct.
Di Maria - Maybe.
Hummels - Not a chance, at all.

Hummels is a No. I can see Dortmund be willing to cash in because they have Subotic and Sokratis on their books, but he's one who could attract the interest of Barcelona and looking at recent history, who snubs Barca for United?

I do think we will get one of Vidal or Di Maria, most likely Vidal. I don't know why, but I'm quite optimistic about this one.

With Di Maria, I think it's a case of we'll go for him if he's available for a reasonable price, which he won't be. The problem we have is that we have Rooney, Welbeck, Januzaj and Mata and Kagawa to crow bar into wide areas. That's not including dross like Valencia, Young and most of the time Nani. Di Maria is a better option than all of them, but I can't see us spending that much on a player where we have plenty of options already, especially when we don't need such a huge squad because we don't have European football (right Alexis?) Don't get me wrong I'd love to sign Di Maria.

If Pogba goes to Chelsea then obviously the Vidal deal won't happen but is there really any firm basis to believe that rumor? Or at least anything firmer than the links between us and Vidal?

If I was Juve I'd probably be keener to hang on to Pogba as his value is more likely to increase. I'd certainly be playing us and Chelsea off each other to get the best deal though, tell both clubs that you're only selling one player and they either have to meet your valuation or miss out.

No
Maybe
Maybe

But hey, stranger things have happened.
