'Pep' Guardiola sack watch

The Bielsa love in is embarrassing tbh, he is not exactly that great of a manager.

Excluding winning the Championship with Leeds, the last time he won anything at club level was in 1998 and the last time he won something before that was in 1992.

Fair enough he managed Argentina and then Chile from 1998 to 2011, but he has still barely won much in his entire career for club and country.

Such a overhyped manager.

Pep officially sides with the 'pep can't do it without having the undisputed best team at his disposal' crowd.

But he doesn't have to do that. If a club has ridiculous amounts of money then there is no one better than Pep for that. If someone like Bielsa was as good as Pep and could do what Pep does then why don't these coaches that get results on limited resources, manage the top clubs.

If it was that easy to emulate Pep then they all would be doing it.

Hey I didn't say I was a card carrying member of that crowd. I'm just saying if that quote is correct, it sounds an awful lot like some the Pep takes I've read on this forum.

He compliments Bielsa's methods and style of play. Of course he isn't that great of a manager in terms of results, but that doesn't make him a bad manager.

I coached Gillingham to the champions league on football manager, why isnt Guardiola complimenting me?

I bet he's never even said the word "horsechoker"

The problem with Football Manager is a lot of people cheat giving themselves ungodly amounts of money to spend signing anyone and everyone, even hundreds of millions on wingbacks who never even play. It's not like real life.

How much of a gap has Liverpool made up on City in the title race this season? To think at one stage, everyone though the title was done and dusted.

8 points gap lost
Add to that the chances missed against Liverpool at home.

Losing the league title would not be a good look for Pep this season. That's a lot of ground to lose in the 2nd half of the season. Decision to sign Grealish over a CF even a stop gap looks a bit daft now.

So subtle and beautiful

You shouldn't be taking shots at United like that. Naughty.

Liverpool have closed up by 7 points. The gap was 14 but they had 2 games in hand. City drew twice and lost once while Liverpool won.

With Klopp and now Pep staying for the foreseeable future, I think the rest of the PL is doomed. Like the old United/ Arsenal duopoly of the 90’s/ early noughties. :(

Didn't we once lose an 8 point lead with 4 games to go and then went on to lose the title too?

Much like when players do it, I personally wouldn’t read too much into a contract renewal for a manager. I think it’s a move to strengthen City’s hand in the transfer market because agents and players will wonder whether they’d want to join City if Guardiola isnt going to be there next year (since he is a draw to players) or just a general the managers going to change next year anyway, so why take the risk of being potentially lumbered with a manager who doesn’t rate me or I don’t fit his playstyle.

I believe this man will be looking to leave the moment he wins the Champions League with City, and will cash out on getting that high because it‘s basically ‘I’ve platinumed this game’ to use a PlayStation analogy, and then he’ll be onto the next game.

Never looked like they'd come back once they went behind.

For all their brilliance in some ways (hopefully enough to hold off Liverpool in the league) they seemed to lack belief and the force of personality neccessary in these circumstances.

Jesus, just know this capitulation will ruin their league form and give Liverpool a quad. What a mess, lost to an inferior squad again, given the money he has been allowed to spend on that squad his CL failure with City is a huge black mark on his record.

So, he doesn't play a single DM against Chelsea in the last CL final and ends up blowing this one in spectacular fashion defending the lead with both Fernandinho and Rodri on the pitch.

Nice one Pep.

11 years and counting since Pep (Messi) won the CL is really really poor with the teams he has been in charge of.

Haha get fecked. Easy to beat weak teams in the league with a huge squad but he always gets found out in Europe. You love to see it.

You cannot concede 3 goals in each Cl semi leg and expect to go through. His City tenure is littered with these mad aggregate results, he must be on some sort of record of total goals conceded in being eliminated in CL games.

Amazing run in the CL since he left Barcelona... made Bayern worse and still can't get City to win anything

I’m genuinely amazed he’s not won it with City when you look at the draws. His only FA cup was when he avoided all big teams as well. Bawld fraud.
