Pedro | Signs new contract until 2019

Probably just his agent looking for more money in the contract negotiations with barca
but there are not many better wide forward players around so of course he would be a welcome addition - though I imagine city, psg etc would all be interested as well
 
Never going to happen. I thought the rumors were that he was renegoiating his contract with Barca

He was linked a few years ago too, I think. About as likely as Kroos

Wouldn't be surprised if we were after him. It would match our scatter gun approach of buying players with no clue of how they might fit into a team together. We have no identity and no plan.

Yes please. I've been campaigning for him a bit on here. A wide man with speed who can get 20 goals is just what we need if we are going to play Mata.

Two good feet, absolutely rapid and a top finisher is Pedro. Penetrative runner too and will actually stretch teams in behind.
 
Meh, good player but we have too many attackers. I'd prefer to keep Kagawa in the side and try and get him clicking with Mata or Rooney. Welbeck needs consistent games at this stage if his career.

Note that I'm not singing Welbeck's praises here either.

Both are carbon copies of one another: nifty players who appear technically sound, but have no real snout for goal. If we were going to make room for another one of those types in our squad, I'd rather we just keep Welbeck.
 
Pedro scores much more than Welbeck does. You can probably put some of that down to him playing for Barca, but to say he doesn't have a nose for goal is harsh. He'd be a much better option than Ashley Young for the left wing, though we'd probably have to tinker with the formation
 
Would be a brilliant signing, always rated him highly, but I highly doubt it'll happen. Probably just for a new contract. Saying that, he's scored 86 goals the last 5 seasons, which is really good for a player who is predominantly a winger/wide forward, and not a guaranteed starter. Great finisher as well, and always seems to pop up with a goal in big games.

Let's sort the midfield first though please. We can make do with what we have for the wings for a season if its either winger or creative midfielder this summer, but if we're getting both then by all means do it. Don't see a future for Nani here because Moyes doesn't seem to rate him, Valencia should be a squad player, Januzaj too young to start every week and then Young/Zaha are just bad and not good enough. So if the midfield gets sorted, as in Carvalho and a creative playmaker like Gundogan, then go all out.

Priorities IMO are:
Creative midfielder
Defensive mid
Left back
Center back
Winger/inside forward

You may want to watch more Barcelona games and/or check his statistics to date for a comparisson.
 
Pedro's finishing is a good few levels above Welbeck's. Remember the first season he broke through in the Barca team, scored in six different competitions and ended the season with a 1/3 conversion rate from his shots.
 
Only Ronaldo and Muller are better wide forwards.

Forgot about him, can't go wrong with either tbh. I'd take Reus because of his extra pace and deadball ability. Pedro is the better payer in tight spaces though and the better finisher.

would be an exceptional front four. Goals, pace and an exceptional amount of technical ability. Very much the kind of players we could do with if we are to pursue with creators like Shinji and Mata.
 
He has pace and apparently we do not. He is Spanish and has 38 caps. He has won lots of medals. He would be great.
 
I said it above, I'd love a player like Pedro on our right hand side. With Mata through the middle he'd be a massive threat on the counter. He's like a better version of Walcott and is a solid, solid goalscorer. Sadly, I don't think Moyes is looking for a player like this.
 
A lot of these players in Real Madrid or Barca have ridiculous release clauses. I'm pretty sure Benzema's is £800 million or around that.

The release clause means nothing. If he leaves, it wont be for more than 30mil I reckon.
