Btw Spurs agreed to pay him 350K per week, it was image rights and other fee that made Juve to call off the deal.
Could you imagine if that had gone through?
Alli, Kane, Son, the whole squad would have been banging on Levy's door demanding a huge pay rise. It would have been carnage in there haha

Yeah, at least Kane would have and Alli would have got bigger contract.

Seems to me Spurs and Dybala did infact agree everything, pretty much reported in various Italian media and some british, just image rights and i think those image rights being so tough to negotiate is what made Juve and Spurs call a cease to talks.

Their whole wage structure would have gone to crap, and furthermore, it would have set the precedent that we've set here, willing to pay whatever it takes to get players in.
Thankfully, we seem to be moving away from that now.

Alli can piss off. Absolute garbage performances all of last season.

This is such silly thinking. So because one Spanish player didn't work we should never sign prime David Villa? Fernando Torres? That's basically what you are saying. Sanchez is spent. Dybala still has prime years ahead. They aren't even from the same country. Man City best ever signing is from Argentina. I hope this transfer does not happen

My bad I assumed the meaning was implied. I should have been more spesific. Di Maria was a failure here for many reasons, but most importantly he came here for all the wrong reasons: money. Dybala the same. Ed woodward pulled the plug for that very reason.

We need players that want to be here, not players that sign because of the paycheck

Yeah, we know how much it impacts on the club with Sanchez.

Whats old Goldbridge saying?
He's saying, United fans celebrating Spurs/Dybala deal off, possibly getting Mandzukic, no Bruno and no midfielder being signed, Darmian being sold for 5-10m, Rojo Everton £20m, Zaha being sold means we're getting money from the buy-out clause, net spent is only £60m if you take into account Lukaku fee, and basically just a shit-show currently. All negative from Goldbridge and Ole's not been backed just like Jose last summer! "shambolic for a team that finished 6th, net spend could end up being only £30m,"

Delaney has to be the worst out there for transfer news. Barring the obvious clowns/fake accounts is there anyone worse? Speculative bullshit articles and completely contrasting information given in comparison to respectable journalists, that always gets proven as bullshit.

You'd think The Independent would be able to acquire someone of slightly higher calibre and credibility as their chief football writer. It might not be a brilliant publication but it certainly isn't as bad as some of the tabloids.

When did he sell them off? Awful decision, he's basically made himself untransferable.

Can't be as clear cut as that. Same hurdle has tripped up two clubs though.

He probably just really isn't that fussed about staying put to be fair. From the way the negotiations have gone both us and Spurs must have seen a potential way around it if every one had wanted it to happen enough.

Being reported that it's Juve pulling the plug as they don't have time to get a replacement? Very strange.

Nice summary thanks.

They have month to get replacement. Reports that they called it off as they didnt see this as profitable deal.

Probably would have been a case of Dybala to Spurs, then Juve used the funds to buy Lukaku, but with Lukaku going to Inter, it messes them up somewhat, so it makes sense to keep Dybala

I guess we will find out at a later date what actually happened but as I'd expected since I first saw the link it's not going to happen. Not even gutted as I never thought it would happen anyway.

I don't think any of that is inaccurate or untrue though...

What is the story with his image rights?
No one knows, that's the problem.
They're owned by a third party company. Dybala doesn't own the personally, so to enter this league the club HAS to buy them out right.

The TPC are asking for over £15m for them alone, which is a huge amount compared to normal. It's obviously proving a big problem as either United or Tottenham refused to pay the amount.

Silly boy, why would he sell his rights for a quick buck?

£15m doesn't sound like that big of a deal, where did you read that amount?

£65m was apparently agreed for the player. £10m or so agent fees. £90m all up. so we could have had him for Lukaku + £15m? surely we would have all bitten Juve's hand off for that deal.

the image rights must be more complicated than just paying £15m.

It's common amongst South Americans unfortunately. Same sort of thing happened with Tevez and that Kia Joorabian guy, which is why we refused to sign him and he went to city.

They're picked up by these companies and they promise to get them exposure and boost them into Europe, but then if they make it big they make millions from them. It's essentially sportsman trafficking, but they don't allow it in England which is why you often see them going to Italy/Ukraine etc.

fair enough. My only comment on this is that sanchez did not want to necessarily leave Barca but ended up at Arsenal. Did Robben and Sneidjer want to leave Real? many players make it work

So how does that work then? Does that mean Juventus aren't allowed to use him for marketing campaigns etc? Or have to negotiate with the 3rd party for everytime they or their sponsors want to use his image?

Obviously I don't know the exact figures, i'm just going off what's being reported.

The figure Ornstein and a few others mentioned was circa that amount. I assume that has to be paid directly to the company, and that's without any additional agent/club/player fees. I assume it's more out of principle than the money itself?

Something is obviously very shady though, look at Evra's instagram post, he obviously knows it's more than Dybala "refusing" to join us, but the kid is a bit stuck.

It's not so much a question of the player not wanting to leave, but in Dybalas case he wanted a crazy wage increase to even entertain coming here. I would absolutely have loved Dybala coming here, but with the right motivation.
