Paulo Dybala

48 hours is not enough for him to decide to go to the biggest club in the world (As we usually claim)?

If I was Ed I’d just slam a lucrative contract on the table, directly to him and give him 48 minutes to read carefully. After that if he still doesn’t sign, have the security guards dragging him out of my office and turn my attention to the next guy.

People act faster and more dependent on impulse when they see money being taken right in front of their eyes.
what the feck

I think this is the thing. These are actual people...with family and lives etc. Yes they are well paid, pampered and have endless luxuries, but if you are miserable...what's the point?

As much as MUFC is what is important in all this for us, Dybala has a huge decision to make that changes the course of his career/life.

Add to that we are not exactly the most attractive club, certainly not as we might have been to players in 2008 etc. No champions league, no real prospect of challenging for the league in the immediate...a popular but inexperienced manager.

We shall see, I'd like to see him here.
Even still, it's moving across a continent to a completely different culture. That's a huge decision to make in 48 hours without even thinking about where United are as a club. He's lived in Italy for 7 years now, it's hard to just up and go so quickly.

I'm betting at the moment it's just sinking in that he's been backstabbed massively by a club he thought he'd be at for a long time. My guess is he's still trying to get his head around it.

Probably spot on. The rug has been pulled right from under him, giving him no time to really process it. Rushing into a decision of moving countries as some make weight for another player is hardly sensible like.

Exactly what I'm saying, completely agree. That's the reality that people forget for me.

dont think it is money.

Dybala will get the shirt with the number 11 and with bonus he means a birthday cake on his birthday, doesnt need to play with Jones in training, Lingard will clean his boots etc..

Sounds like a good deal

Gets to walk Sanchez' dogs once a week, is allowed to use Pogba's hair stylist, becomes the honorary president of Common Goal, gets to hold De Gea's hands when crossing the road...

This is a critically important decision for him. The difference of living in Italy versus Northern England is huge and we are not a great club currently.

However...

If Dybala chooses to come here, I do not see how we do not make top four next since we also just signed Maguire. So now with top 4 we go after Jordan Sancho next year...

Honestly I could see this being similar to the signing of Cantona... it could make a world of difference. I mean with Dybala we would have 3 world class players on the pitch with tons of young potential. Maybe I am being too optimistic but I really think if he signs we could finally have a new trajectory as a club.

I'd take him, even if it means dragging him here kicking and screaming, if the alternativ is signing nobody. I know we should go for players who want to be here, but it's late in the window.

i mean, why wouldn't he take a few days to decide? to appease some strange posters on a message board?

it's not like it's deadline day or anything, he has time.

It takes me a couple of days to tell my wife that I'm going to the pub with the lads to watch a match.

Imagine dropping the bomb that we're selling up and moving countries. "Go say bye to your friends as we need wrap this up in 48 hours, oh you'll have to close that fashion boutique you've just set up. What do you mean you don't want to go? My jobs obviously more important than your emotional needs. Of course that doesn't make me a bad boyfriend."

All Juve goals. He looks pacy, tenacious, and strong enough for the PL. Just a question of his attitude (which reports suggest is not a problem) and where he plays (‘false 9’ with Martial and Rashford either side makes sense, but he’s versatile).

Spot on. I will help with the dragging bit.

It's not quite the same though, is it?

If you're going to date a footballer you're surely aware that with his career comes the fact that a move could come at any time. The side impact being that you get to share in the shit tonnes of money which comes from being a professional footballer.

I'm sure whoever he's dating can open a new fashion boutique with the fecking millions in signing on he would get.

It's not quite the same, but neither does it mean it's an easy conversation and quick decision

Agreed. But at the end of the day he's currently in a career where he's being forced out of the picture, which could be detrimental to his future. If that's the case then leaving really is the only option left to him because he's still young and I don't imagine wasting away on a bench will suit him.

De Gea
AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
McTominay Pogba
Lingard Dybala Rashford
Martial

Replace Lingard with Sancho next year and we’re laughing.

Lingard and Rashfords workrate next to Dybala will help his lack of defensiveness

Also shaw and AWB being more solid defensively than most will help too.

I think that could challenge spurs for 3rd

I think the Spurs XI is quite a bit better than that. Not a bad side overall, but enough deficiencies to limit us to competing for the 4th place trophy, sadly.

No reason to play Lingard when we have James who works as hard off the ball if not better and with pace to burn.

Is he reliable? I am never sure which Italian journalists are good and which arent
His picture is literally him and Sarri. He is super reliable for anything related to Sarri, but not very when it isn't. In this case he is simply tier 1 as Sarri is 100% involved in this deal.

I think if Martial doesn't improve his off ball work rate then he'll be dropped out of the lineup. We're very likely to settle with something like this:
De Gea
AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
McTominay Pogba
Lingard Dybala James
Rashford

Signs are that he has quite drastically

He’s just posted an insta story of himself working out in his front room. Maybe he’s sent it straight to Sarri.

Mind boggles why Juve are swapping Lukaku and Dybala, Danilo and Cancelo..

It's like someone broke into their FM save and is purposely making them weaker...

Juventus are brutal. If they want him out then he'll leave.

And selling Kean on top of that, it all just makes no sense

Big fan of Dybala's qualities, but this is giving me Di Maria deja vus. Another talented player that is being forced out of his club against his wish, possibly coming to United because not cause he wants to be here but because we're the best option he has in his financially.

Sceptical to say the least.

Juventus has bought wisely. They got 3 excellent young CBs in De Ligt, Demiral and Romero. They added Pellegrini whose a young LB from Juventus and they signed Rabiot + Ramsey on a free. Lukaku will be a hit in Italy. His physical strength will batter ram defences who tend not to be used to such type of strikers. Sure Dybala is a good little player but his career have stalled at Juventus and he look so out of place alongside Ronaldo. Cancelo on the other hand is a strange one. He's an excellent full back and yet, he seem to be changing hands quite regularly. He was loaned by Valencia to Inter, they didn't want to buy him despite doing well there and now Juve want him out.

Why are they so desperate to swap Dybala for Lukaku

If it was just a regular transfer ok, but to be this determined
What I think happened is Juve tried to swing their dicks around, bought Ronaldo last summer, gave Ramsey a 400k a week contract, loads to Rabiot, bought de ligt, who knows what else and figured they wouldnt have a problem to sell players to balance the books (and are now desperate).

Seemingly desperate to also sell Cancelo which is also crazy. They're definitely having financial issues.

They bought smartly? Think it's more likely they bought more than they can actually afford and now need to balance the books.
