Paulo Dybala

I need new sat nav. I thought I'd wander over to the Paulo Dybala thread to see how it's going, or not. I lost my way over here, and seem to be in the We Hate Ed thread somehow.

Every thread is the We Hate Ed thread. I genuinely think a good chunk of posters here hate everything about the club.

Now that Harry is done, Ed can focus on this deal. Seeing as we do one deal a month, this needs to go quicker.

Would like a little bit more positive news on this transfer before the end of today, or is that being greedy.

Hopefully the Maguire transfer shows Paulo our ambition.

I hope he said his last words and hugged everyone at Juve by now and gets this transfer moving.

This has a bit of a di Maria feeling to it as in he doesn’t really wanna come here at all.

Even if he was, i doubt he is in a hurry. He has to do some stuff at Juve and then move on. His next move could be a career decider and he will ask people around what to do and then decide himself. I dont think he even thought about leaving Juve a few months back, and he is always a guy who made moves and decided what he wanted and now he gets pushed out. So obviously it takes time to process and rethink everything. I dont think United is his fave club ever and that he will have tears of joy coming here, but looking at how it ended at Juve. i dont think he would be sad either to start new. I only think he thought leaving Juve for Barca/Real, and thta would probably be his destination of choice, but they wont be interested in him. So now he must decide what to do next, stay or move.

How long is this going to continue to be used? Getting him in exchange for Lukaku is better than Lukaku going to Inter and us getting nothing but money that we won't use anyway.

Wait I just had the same thing but in the Maguire thread. Don’t tell me this one is the same.

what a novel opinion!

Yeah, sorry for not sitting in front of my computer all day like a muppet and being a bit late on transfer related news. What a crime!

taking too long already I think. I don't expect him to be champing at the bit to join us, but if he's that reluctant ...

He may not be successful but Di Maria comparisons are just lazy. Now if someone tells me that Dybala is also a massive coward and it's easy to tackle him hard and make him disappear for rest of the game, then I'll maybe understand.

How dare he take more than 48 hours to make a life/career defining decision? Yep definitely fair enough.
I don't care if he takes another 48 hours, give him time. All I'm saying is I don't think he'll want to come. I'll more than happily eat crow if I'm wrong.

Change of country, new environment...alot to consider.

I wouldnt like to be given a week to decide whether to move my trade to a whole new country. If I did, then I'd be making damn sure I got the best deal possible.

What would annoy me is unless we have clear signs of his intention to join United, why are we wasting our time? If indeed we are. We know feck all I suppose.

He's got a problem though. He may want to stay, but if he does, he'll be at a club that he knows for a fact want him out, likely wont play him. That will lead to frostiness in the changing room and between the players. It's in Juve's best interests to get him out, and it's in his best interests to leave. Sarri isn't going to tell him anything other than what he already knows - he's not wanted.

If he's waiting for a club like Real, Barca or PSG to come along for him, he'll be waiting a long long time. PSG won't buy him whilst Neymar is there, and it doesn't look like Neymar is going anywhere anytime soon. Real won't buy him and neither will Barca. I'm betting at the moment it's just sinking in that he's been backstabbed massively by a club he thought he'd be at for a long time. My guess is he's still trying to get his head around it.

48 hours is not enough for him to decide to go to the biggest club in the world (As we usually claim)?

If I was Ed I’d just slam a lucrative contract on the table, directly to him and give him 48 minutes to read carefully. After that if he still doesn’t sign, have the security guards dragging him out of my office and turn my attention to the next guy.

People act faster and more dependent on impulse when they see money being taken right in front of their eyes.

Dybala is a little fighter and scrapper, see his last minute goal against Lazio for evidence, nothing like Di Maria. Be great if we can pull this one off but seems a long shot.

I think this is the thing. These are actual people...with family and lives etc. Yes they are well paid, pampered and have endless luxuries, but if you are miserable...what's the point?

As much as MUFC is what is important in all this for us, Dybala has a huge decision to make that changes the course of his career/life.

Add to that we are not exactly the most attractive club, certainly not as we might have been to players in 2008 etc. No champions league, no real prospect of challenging for the league in the immediate...a popular but inexperienced manager.

We shall see, I'd like to see him here.
