Now THAT is a fecking VALUE signing!

I just came EVERYWHERE.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SCORES GOALS, PAUL SCHOLES!, HE SCORES GOALS!!!

Is this desperation?

How long can we realistically put off buying a midfielder? This is essentially the last step we can take, before having to purchase in the summer - surely.

I love Scholes and if he feels he can play, then I'm behind him as ever I was, but the fact we've had to do this is poor foresight.

I wonder what number he'll wear??

Brilliant news, about a fortnight ago I was saying he is still the best midfielder we have.

I shouldn't encourage this, but Gareth Southgate has just tweeted that Scholes arrived at the stadium with the team.

Ok, PJ, I take back everything I said earlier, COCKS OUT!

I think it was Scholes that offered to make a comeback, not United that approached him asking for it. But still, I get your point.

Obviously SAF thinks he can add something to the squad. But it proves that SAF also thinks we're short in the midfield. I think. :|

Until Tom Cleverley comes back we really are. Fact of the matter is, and this was shown at Wembley last year, we got nobody besides Cleverley who has quick feet under pressure. The simplest harrying tactics are enough to take the midfielders we have off their game and pressure them into mistakes. Scholes offers you that something different in that the ball tends to stick to his feet and he can play his way out of trouble. Happy at this news.

Paul Pogba does not "like" this.

I love Scholes but surely we should be giving opportunities to players like Pogba if we are this desperate. No wonder he's considering leaving.

Can't help but think this is just a distraction to get us excited about something.

Yeah, this is a pretty strong statement from Fergie that we need another midfielder as I see it. Really makes you wonder why we haven't bought one before (cough Glazers cough).

Great option to have. Not too worried about his lack of gametime, think of it as an injury spell on the sidelines :D Scholes for a 90th minute winner

You know he's been staying in shape.

Didn't realize he was registered for the FA Cup, I guess that was the give away that spawned the article, didn't see it mentioned though.

Maybe it's the fact that we already have a midfielder lined up, but the team is reluctant to sell him mid season. It could also be that Fergie was waiting for them to develop for another year before pushing for a purchase like he was looking to do with Jones before Liverpool and the likes started sniffing around.

Perhaps not the best news for Pogba right now but I think this shows Fergies intentions to bring the youngsters through next season, hence Paul Scholes being a stop gap for this season. A lot of people said we might sign an older midfielder to bring the youngster through and look what's happened.

Wonder what his squad number will be?
