Don't worry mate, this will be announced in 48 hrs.

Surely Real Madrid won't swoop in with a bid this late in proceedings?

I'm not worried about the swooping in just fitting that I have him in my team just after he signs for us.

What nature of the deal?

There's no way a transfer agreement and player contract get signed without a medical having taken place.
Sorry, meant "particularity" of the deal and not nature, what I meant is how complex it seems to have been to draft. It doesn't seem totally impossible to me that they would have included a suspensive condition clause in the agreement, seen it done for deals of higher value (not football players transfers but commercial deals). Why are you so adamant they wouldn't have signed the agreement without the medical taking place beforehand?

Signing somebody that needs multiple "confirmed" medicals is a worrying sign :p

This thread and saga is the equivalent of a 70s band live drum solo.

Technically impressive in parts but oh so boring, long and predictable. I walked to the bar 600 posts ago.

There is definitely a psychology paper to be written on the various types of thread personas we have in here.

Would you say Emerson, Lake and Palmer?

As much as this transfer excites me, I find it hard to focus on knowing we re playing Leicester today. I really want us to win that game. Perfect opportunity to make a statement. Announcing Pogba would be the proverbial cherry on top.

Because there's no reason for it.

It would be a colossal waste of time and money to get the lawyers to draft an additional clause to an agreement along the lines you suggest when they can just not do that and hold the medical test first.

It's not like we're dealing with any kind of deadline here.

That's true. Hope we smash them and lay down a marker.

feck, football's here at last!

As soon as the reports of Madrid's interest dried up you could tell this was as good as done. When it goes quiet that's when things are happening behind the scenes, I imagine this has been done a couple of weeks now but we agreed to let him have his holiday.

Just a fresh rumour.

Ah yes, not even denying it now. It's gone from he'll be at training Monday to "No Comment".
Everyone knows it's happening now, it's like the Mourinho appointment, it's another worst kept secret in football

We all fall short of this guy and that guy with the signed Pogba shirt.

Pastor of muppets.

So he'll miss the season opener most definitely, any idea when he'll be ready to start?

Just want us to hit the ground running, and kicking out a midfielder for him if we have a good start might be counterproductive.

Still, great news.

Berbatov comes to mind.
Di Maria springs to mind too, i remember that one, even though i didn't participate much, if at all.

I'm wondering if Mourinho will announce this one tonight, or atleast that he's due/had a medical. If, as the reports are suggesting, he's free to have a medical, then Pogba has been relieved of his duties at Juventus, and therefor Mourinho could technically talk about him

Was getting worried a weak ago that this wont reach 1000 pages but its so close now that unless United make a surprise announcement its bound to happen. Almost as exciting as the actual transfer

£100m fee, I feel I have sweated a decent part of that trying to keep up with the saga created.

"He has no club, until he has one officially"

Can hardly believe it's actually getting done. Felt as if it was going to go on forever. Very happy he's coming, but can't say the transfer saga has been a pleasure.

I actually like the fact that we are correcting our own mistake by buying him back for crazy money. It has felt terrible watching him perform at Juventus thinking about what could have been. Imagine if he had gone to City how extremely frustrating it would have been to see him shine for them.. Instead he's coming home!

There's been a couple of call outs already but I'd really like to hear @Pablo76's lastest thoughts on this.

Based on what though? By all reports, he wants to come here. I don't dispute the pull of Madrid, I do however dispute the idea that there is NO circumstance whatsoever where any player would favour United over Madrid. Obviously rubbish.
Yeah it tend to get annoying repeatedly reading about Madrid otherworldly pull they supposedly have over everyone else.

Some people are just mixing myths and facts.

Here's to hoping this gets announced before the 1000th page and mods close the thread on page 999 just for bantz'

Think there's a remote possibility he's announced today soon after the game? Or is it going to be one of the next days?
It would make sense to announce it today, if United/Pogba/Adidas are interested in as much attention as possible when it's announced.
