I'm lucky to have authority to post in this thread it was one of the best decisions by the mods on the caf, although 10 posts is not enough in times like these:D. Addiction.

On another side, we are almost paying 100m plus and beating the record football fee, if anyone anywhere told me that Man.United can do this I would never believe. First hiring one of the best managers out there that makes it very easy on big names to choose us and secondly this Pogba thing, oh boy.

Ed is a man who kept his word which personally I couldn't believe when he said we are capable of doing things other clubs can only dream of. Watch this fecking space.

And their average age is 21. OH MY GAWD! 19 - 23 - 21.
Martial is 20. What a team we will have though if all of our young players continue to improve. Rashford, TFM, Bailey, and Tuanzebe are very promising prospects. Plus DDG is very young for his position and already one of the best, if not the best, keeper in the world!

Pereira and Shaw too.

Pereira and Shaw too.
Shaw was mentioned in the post train I quoted. I forgot about Pereira though. He is such a talented player. I really hope he gets his chance this year. I guess we could add Januzaj as well. Really think he could be a top player if he finds consistency in his play and takes the opportunities that are given to him.

di marzio and the rest of the italian newspapers say the deal is agreed and should be completed by friday, also say pogba should have medical done in miami, all our players and even staff and chevy are following and liking him on instagram. plus he posted a black and white pic on instagram with only the color red showing.

donkey kong it is on like

Thanks dude for the summary. What a morning !!!

110mil is a lot of money, but this is a still a huge coup. We finished 5th last season, are not in CL, and we've just signed arguably the top and most marketable player from the currently very dominant Italian champions. It's a crazy signing, but kudos to Ed for making life exciting.

I'd have to say through all this, Pogba seemed genuinely keen to return to United, regardless of whether Madrid were really in the picture. It's not as though he spent his whole life here, and he didn't leave on the best terms either. Sure the astronomical salary offered does not hurt of course, but he still had many similarly lucrative options.

More than Di Marzio, it is the Chevrolet FC Instagram account following Pogba that indicates to me that this is a done deal.

Exactly. It is those small unexpected things which worth more than a hundred journo tweets.

So L'Equipe still maintains its credibility status. They called this early a week ago and they were right again.

110mil pounds or euros?

Makes me wonder if this was actually done weeks ago and it's just been silly posturing to appease the fans that Juve fought back
They didnt really fight back. Honestly the fans dont care about this appeasement. If they had sold Pogba the day before they signed Higuain, they cant and wont do anything about it. What are they going to start a riot if their club had to sell one player to get another?

I think most aspects of the deal were done ages ago: Pog wanting to join us, us wanting to buy him at the asking price, Juventus willing to sell him.

The only sticking point was who would pay Raiola and that seems to have been sorted only now

the narrative shown by the papers makes it seem like we caved and payed, I read and saw the sentiment of many Juve fans on the forums and twitter, it's a stark contrast between the initial stages and now. they probably also needed time to get in targets. and you speak about if they would riot. of course they could riot, have you never seen fans take to the streets in revolt? its plausible is all I'm saying
Rioting because their team cant afford to buy one player without selling a player? Thats ridiculous.

Also they got their main target in Pjanic. They are going after Witsel by the looks of it. So their target is set and have plenty of time and money to get him.

I actually do think there's been a bit of posturing here. Not just about fighting back, but also showing that they have the financial muscle to buy Higuain without selling Pogba. To be honest, I doubt that they'd have splashed out on Higuain without our money for Pogba already pretty much on the table. Not saying they can't afford, but I think it might have been stretching them more than they would like.

Just checking back in, think this thread has grown by at least 150 pages since I was last here! I have just seen his latest Instagram post which I am sure you have all gone wild about God knows how many pages back.. But after seeing that he is 100% coming here!

De Gea
Shaw
Mkhi
Ibra
Pogba
Martial

That's some real world class players right there. Let's hope those around them can continue to step up.

No way Shaw and Martial are world class players... Potential is there and they could be in future but definitely not at the moment.

I hope this transfer happens. We had been overpaying for mediocre talent a lot. The type of talent who we pay 30m are also bought by other clubs for 10-20m. Hence the quality of our squad are not much better than the rivals. With the new TV money every team in the league will have full internationals for every position and ability to be competitive. If we are to pay over the top for top talents then so be it. Our rivals cannot compete with a quality like that on their own. That can set us apart. After all the point of the club earning most in the world should be useful for the club not just for boasting fans to be proud about it.

What news!?
