Can't see how anyone would blame the agent on this one. He's contractually obliged to €20m, there isn't a person on earth who'd just say "nah don't worry about that, I care more about this guy's who's already earning millions whatever happens". That said if it doesn't go through he's pretty much completed a deal and not got anything for it anyway.

There will be loads of back and forth on dozens of different clauses on contractual details between the two clubs, the player and his agent. Everything from timing of the installments of the transfee fee, to image right, performance-related bonuses, agents fees etc etc. And that's all after the two clubs have agreed on a fee!
