Lets sign Joe Allen or Jordan Henderson then.

Couldn't be much worse than Fellaini and not to add you're taking my statement way too literally. I'm sure our club hasn't identified Joe Allen and Jordan Henderson as potential targets.

If this deal really truly hasn't been worked out yet, it obviously will be.

It really is in everyone's best interests to come to a resolution.

Juve will want to see some cash back and not go into next season with a player who will be disgruntled and distracted, asking for a bumper pay rise. I'm being kind here. There's no way I can see them being able to spend this much and then stop without getting any money back.

We'll want to complete this transfer after being seen to commit so much money towards it...we definitely don't want this falling through with such a big commitment already made. We haven't left silent on it, it's been a very high profile matter.

And Raiola won't want to be the agent who missed out on a pay day and didn't complete the move for his client; he'll be seen to have failed or even worse come across as a greedy agent whom everybody would blame for the deal not going through.

I still suspect this deal is actually done, but if it isn't, it's a matter of time before it is.

Too late, he's signed for stoke.

All I know is his hair pisses me off, along with Bale's stupid hair. Must be something to do with Welsh people aspiring to look Spanish.

Back on topic, I think either way we should hear something by the end of the week and if we don't then I give up on this one myself.

What does scouts have to do with finalising this deal? You don't need to be a professional Football scout to see that Pogba is a good player. It's also no secret that our midfield needs strengthening and I've already stated Pogba is ideal and I hope it happens. What isn't ideal though is wasting a whole window on a player if it isn't looking likely.

That being said - I think this transfer is done and has been for a while, journos just don't have a clue. On the chance it isn't though, if reports are to be believed I hope the club is starting to pursue other targets. Pogba would be amazing, but any midfielder is better than no midfielder.

Wasting a whole window? We've signed 3/4 players Mou wanted. If we don't wrap Pog up in the next 4 weeks, we'll use the last fortnight to sign an alternative.

Yup. And there are different kinds of alternative to just signing a central midfielder. Matuidi isn't a replacement for Pogba but we may, for instance, decide to use Mkhi centrally and find a right winger, rather than sign a different central midfielder. Or sign both Matuidi and a right winger. We have options.

I'd love us to sign to Pogba again. Gutted when he left after watching him in the youth team. Although I am getting sick off all the chat about is he coming or not.

Also the people saying he will go Madrid next year aren't they banned from transfers for that season? Or have I got that bit wrong?

I meant wasting the rest of the window and specifically in regards to the midfield. Also, I would have no qualms with that, as long as our other identified targets aren't snapped up and still available. We've missed out on a lot of very good potential midfielders already.

Doubt we will use Mickey as a CM, but yes Matuidi could do a job for us. Matic could also be an option, very different players to Pogba and not as good mind, Pogba is obviously the preferred option, regardless of the price.

Then again, this is all most likely pointless scenarios as I strongly believe this is done, if not very close to being done.

When calculating Juve's outlay this window, don't forget to add they've for the second instalment of Dybala's fee to pay and also Santos'!

So you can add about 30M to that outlay!

Out of curiosity, are all transfers that involve big fees done in this manner? Or was it an exemption for Higuain?

We paid for Depay with 4 installments six months apart. All transfers are done in installments.

If I'm not mistaken, this guy has a reputation for being reliable! Conference call eh? You wonder why Raiola had to actually have an actual meeting earlier today when he could have sent his own hologram there instead.

After how awkward this has been, Woodward should pay it all at once...only do so with 1p coins. And not just any 1p coins...but really old, faded, dirty ones.

We'll forever be close to completing this deal. Around and around in bloody circles.

This is so tedious. I actually think everyday it's moving closer but at such a snails pace. When this is all over the feeling of relief will take about 2 days to savour, before I actually start thinking about him playing. That's if he signs - the longer this goes on the more doubt.

Earlier Di Marzio said we only have a few details to finalise. Now this bloke is saying we've offered €110m. That's not a small detail. Do these bellends know anything?

We've been close for quite a while, haven't we? But it's the first time I've heard the figure €110m mentioned. If that's actually true, it would seem like a fairly reasonable price in the current marked - especially considering the €145m and £100m that have been mentioned. Carlo Laudisa should be pretty reliable, but let's see. He's also been saying that it's been close for the past weeks.
